So here is a written summary of each point you make. It's been edited to make a couple changes in step 12 and 13. I've marked them as edits and quoted you directly. 1. Hit level 80 2. Pick up mission Technological Advancements in the fleet. I believe the reason I’ve heard not to get conquest done is because you get 34 charges for completing it after picking it up. 3. Do various things in that mission description to get charges. 4. During this, you’re picking up medals of commendation (MoCs). Get these from Personal Conquest rewards and GS levels. 5. Pick up first set of 320 gear: 200 MoCs and some credits, augment at your discretion 6. Make sure you save 270 MoCs for eventual upgrade to 322 gear 7. Start the Aquatic Resource (ARs) grind for 322 gear, will need between 720-800(?). The vendor is on the fleet to do the upgrades. Get this done before any other upgrading. Use daily areas and heroics. 8. Will need 13,000 tech frags (and 50+ ARs) for two legendary implants for set bonuses 9. Flashpoints: Gear upgrade crates drop from Vet FP weeklies. You wont get gear upgrades from the FPs themselves. You will farm the currency and deconstruct the gear to get more currency to use the upgrade vendor (sort of like tech frags in 6.0?). Ops also drop crates. 10. Leave everything selected on the groupfinder filter for completing the weekly. 11. Noble crates will never be an upgrade. They will be conquest gear at your current item rating. Stockpile these until you get to 326 and can create sets for all your toons. 12. Do not equip any of the blue gear dropping from FP, or if you do, SAVE the green 320 gear because that is what needs to be upgraded to 322. EDIT: "Green gear should be upgraded to 322 and 324." Having gotten my 322 set, I get it now. My 320 gear has to be turned in to get 322 gear. It's gear and currency both, basically. 13. The crates from FP weeklies do drop upgraded gear, so don’t open them yet! Be at least 322, or wait until irating 324. EDIT: "You need to open vet FP crates while at 322. Once you're 324, they're useless." 14. Once you have your ARs, get your set of 322 gear and working toward the legendary implants.IMPORTANT: if you equipped augments, pull them out before upgrading because they will disappear!! 15. FP Gear is next: There are implant upgrades at the FP vendor. Only upgrade the green FP gear until you hit 324. The ARs cost is less, but they also require Dercurion Isotope Stabilizers, and that’s expensive! 16. When to pop 324 FP crates: when you’re wearing all 322 gear. Like 6.0, always equip the highest rating items for this part. So open a chest, it’ll give you a 324 piece to replace a 322 piece, equip it. Only then do you open the next chest. (not sure if you must have some 324 gear already equipped). 17. Once you’re at 324, start popping the MM FP crate or vet mode Operations gear. These will be blu and can be upgraded to 326.
Holy shit, that's a lot of steps for gear. Do we even need the upgraded gear? I haven't had a lot of time to play and the little bit I have I've been running is vet flashpoints. They're so easy you can do them in your sleep. I'm still running in 306 gear and the flash points have become so easy that normal spots that were common team wipes and required techniques to get past is so easy you can just run out there and smash everything. It's actually quite boring now. I haven't had a chance to play the master mode flashpoints or ops but I'm guessing it's going to be the same thing. Everything's super easy. And I'm not even geared yet. What's the point?
This is amazing. Not only we know how to gear up, but watching this clarified many mistakes I made. I didn't know I have to equip stuff to get upgrades. Thanks very much.
If you hate the hectic, chaotic "speed racer" pace of veteran Flashpoint groups..... I ran "Depths of Manaan" solo, 30+ times, to get to my 330 blue mods. I knocked it out in less than three days, and I got damn good at the instance. I even took the time to harvest 1400 metals/composites (grade 7) off of dead droids. I know it was roughly 30 times, because when I was done, 3 of my alts received the submersible Manaan mount at a cost of 20 research tokens apiece (vendor inside of Flashpoint I believe; 2 tokens gained per run). The MATH: (2 tokens per run) X (30 runs) = 60 tokens total. (60 total tokens) divided by (20 tokens per mount) = 3 mounts for alts. So....yep. It took 30 runs to get enough flashpoint crates to reach my blue 330 mods. I gave all of my companions a twenty-minute resource quest at the start of each run (primarily to level them), and they would come back (mission complete) while I was selling, repairing, and obtaining the repeat flashpoint quest at completion. I took a break to do some veteran FP group runs and discovered it was slower progress (for FP crates) then my finely tuned solo runs. So, I abandoned the group runs completely.
The most important takeaway is gear gets really expensive to upgrade if you put on blue gear and the only green gear that can reach 326 is the "conquest gear" noble decurion.
stockipiling the weekly crates is a fantastic idea, especially for the pvp gear, which is 326 purple. Then opening once youre 326 blue or green. otherwise it takes ages to upgrade the pvp
Watching this video and seeing all the hoops you have to jump through, I'm kinda glad that my level cap is at 65 (Preferred). I'm not really inclined to sub, at this point, mainly because I am a solo player. If I do sub, I'll just grab the Conquest gear to tool around doing my Heroics and exploring every inch of every planetary zone. Here I thought lower-end gearing was annoying. I was wrong.
Thank you for the information and your hard work on this video. If I may I would like to make an observation. You seem to be in a rush. Please take the time to explain. No need to rush a good and steady cadence is easier to follow. This is just my opinion. Keep up the good work!
Great job on the video explanations. After re-subscribing for the new expansion, I came to realize I had more fun and less bugs playing this game at launch 10 years ago.
Such a convoluted BS this gearing. Keeping in mid what I have done, what not. Which resource I have which I need. Can I pop CQ or not yet. Can I open box, or wait. They don't want us to farm red reaper/hammer station , but force us grind stuff, we do not want to play. I just do not understand where is BW aiming with this. Is this some kind of hidden money sink? Or they want us to play fewer alts? I am really thinking about quiting. I do not want to think about huge chore list what I have to do this day ..... this week .... and what I should avoid.
Its like 306 basically. Once you have a 326/330 character you can farm gear and move that to other chars. Just need to buy the correct legendary implants though.
I believe when you were talking about opening boxes and getting upgraded gear you were speaking of the FP boxes, does that also hold true for the Conquest boxes you get from doing the Heroic and Daily weeklies? I'm thinking I may just stick with Conquest gear and if this is so then there is no point in working on an alt yet. Thanks for all the info!
@@Draemn Ah, sorry, I must have missed that. So they can still be useful for outfitting an alt, eventually. That's good. I'm not even so sure I want to play alts anymore, tbh :) Not because of anything with the game, but because I just don't have enough time lol.
What's the point of the gear crates from heroics if the rating is the same as what you're currently wearing? I guess just to gear alts or for another combat style?

When you hit 100k conquest, there will be a regular reward window that popped up and you would have claimed it then. A lot of times you get your conquest at the same time you finish some other objective so you just hit accept and don't even notice it was also one for conquest.

I have 324 gear and haven't upgraded shit at that vendor. It's all from flashpoint drops mostly green with a couple blue relics. Just a couple weeks ago unlock the implant vendor. Many thanks
