Those are some sweet titles right there my friend - enjoy! For many Pharoah Sanders is an acquired taste and not exactly accessible but once you 'crack the code' you are full into it. Some of his free-styling is still lost on me (and I know many others) but as you say his albums are a mix of many jazz genres and as a whole a well worth listen. On the Blue Note comments - a big resounding yes! I would also love to see Classics and Tone Poets merged into one, get away from cheap cardboard jackets on Classics and those over sized, thick gatefolds on TPs...I don't mind losing couple of centerfold photos for the advantage of having a single well made tip-on jacket from hard brown cardboard. Mate - let's start a petition! :-)
You nailed it, Drazen! On both counts! Pharoah can be challenging for many listeners. But once it clicks, a whole other world opens up to you! As for Blue Note, yes, let's start that petition!!! I am right there with you. It's like they're trying too hard to make the Tone Poet series stand out from the Classic Series. But at the same time, they're promoting the Classic Series as the superior titles. Just stop all that, and do exactly what Analogue Productions is doing with their Prestige series. If they want to add session photos, just throw them on a nice insert and BAM! Thanks for weighing in, my friend! I appreciate you as always!
Always enjoy your Pickup video. Well done! Recently picked up Minor Move and Byrd In Flight TP Series repress from BN spring sale. Indeed good deal. Can't wait to receive them 😊
Oh nice! I have Byrd In Flight, but Minor Move is one that was not on my radar. Adding it to the list! Byrd In Flight is soooooo good. Thanks for the nice words!!!
A lot of great stuff man.My favourite recent reissues are Joe Henderson ~ Power To The People and Cannonball Adderley ~ Know What I Mean ? That Brother Jack McDuff album is fantastic, the drums are off the charts .
Those are some heavy hitters! I feel like I should be a bigger Joe Henderson fan, but that album is fantastic! I need to start throwing him in the rotation more. Yeah, I love that McDuff album too! So great!
@@spinzvinyl Jason I just picked up My first Music Matters Album. It was almost to pretty to open lol. I got the Impex Gets Gilberto. I picked up Aretha Franklin's very first Album that is a promo very very hard to find its a VG++ pressing. I also picked up The Doors first Album in the Shrink VG+, I about fainted with that one. Otis Redding Dictionary of Soul in the Shrink from 1966 and a rare Sex Pistols Bootleg Album. Life is Great right now. You doing OK?
Wow! You snagged some real bangers! Well done, my friend! Things with me are fantastic! I just hosted my first Whatnot show on Saturday and it couldn’t have gone better. I’m running an all jazz show this Saturday. Stop by and say hi if you get a little time. It starts at 2pm PST. The week after that is a rock/metal show and the week after that is an all 80s show. You don’t have to buy anything. I think it’s a good time and it’s always great to see a friendly face! If you do decide to stop by, use this link: whatnot.com/invite/spinz_vinyl . It will save you $15 on your first purchase.
