Felt the same way about the Miata for ages--Girl Car!!! Then one day, I looked in a mirror and thought: "I'm a fat forty-one year old with a stupid mustache and a face like Baby Huey. Who am I trying to impress?" Went and bought a used ND Miata, and haven't stopped smiling since. You don't know until you have one. Period.
@@jackmcpartlin4248 You can find the first 2 generations of miata for less then 10k stupid easy, Really if it is over 10 grand you are either looking at a mint low mile, collector, or an LS swapped miata. However NDs are gonna be over 10k for a while; the early ND1s will probably drop a bit due to the ND2s coming out though so who knows. If you like the classic miata look an NA or NB is where you should be looking.
That’s me at 6:28 😬Great video!!! I’ve been telling everyone the Bmw E36 is the best car to build right now. Endless mods and its a very good handling chassis. The price also makes it the most affordable to start.
Thank you for acknowledging the Civic. People like to talk shit about Civics, but they represent a staple in a tuner's life. They are available for almost any kind of budget, so also young guys can afford a car with massive potential. That is in fact the main factor of Civics, their performance is satisfactory for any budget. You can get a nice platform to play with under 10k, slap a turbo or a supercharger, get some suspension and brakes and you good to go. OR if you have money, you can make a monster out of it. Endless parts, wide range of tunable engines, lightweight and maybe one of the best things: double wishbones. The only downside is that it is FWD, but it's ok in my book.
Boxster S is such a bargain right now. You can easily find a very clean 6spd boxster S for under 8k. It might need some work but most of the time, because they're porsche, they are well maintained. Amazingly refined, really fun to drive and it IS pretty quick.
I would love to see an updated version of this kind of video for 2021. Not gonna go looking up prices on the internet, but i have a hunch most if not all of these cars are no longer attainable for under 10k except maybe the Miata or project condition Foxbody.
94-04 mustang gt is way cheaper and in way better condition than the fox body mustangs now days. You can even get 94-01 cobras and even some 03-04 mach 1s for under 10k. these cars are in the sweet spot for age and because its a mustang, parts are everywhere.

You forgot SAAB 9-3 or 9-5. You can pick up a clean early 9-5 in SE trim pretty cheap and they are great out of the box. Full leather interior, heated front seats with an option of ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, massive boot that can fit all your shopping a full size pram and still have room for a subwoofer, it has air bags, different trim sound systems from a basic 4 speaker up to a 9 speaker system with factory subwoofer optional in wagons, power windows, sunroof, power front seats with the driver having 3 memory options, an anti theft system that will trump most thieves, the glove box can be used as a fridge thanks to a little vent that can be opened to allow the A/C air in, split heating so your girlfriend can have her heat up all the way while you enjoy your slightly cooler air and you have a few engine options with the 2.3L B235E being the popular choice. In SE trim a tune on a bone stock car will take you from 125KW & 280NM up to a 175KW & 380NM and thanks to the trionic system you have maximum torque from 1800rpm up to 3500rpm and the best part is you can drive it as a daily and still get over 700km to a tank of fuel. With a free flowing air filter, the larger king cobra intake pipe, larger intercooler, 3" turboback exhaust, 3.5BAR fuel pressure regulator, AERO spec TD04 turbo and AERO injectors you can bring that power up to 210KW & 440NM with a little more room to improve on power but then you start stressing the engine as they are only rated for around 230KW. For about double the price of an SE you can buy a AERO model which has 184KW and 350NM with more room for improvement due to the AERO getting the B235R engine which is capable of withstanding over 280KW and 520NM. Parts are easy enough to find and can be had for a good price without looking too hard. For $10k you can pick up a very clean AERO and still have a few thousand dollars to spend on boosting power, improving suspension, getting some great tyres and at the end you are left with a very comfortable sleeper that will surprise a lot of people all the while not breaking the bank thanks to it's great fuel economy.
That's it. I own a 9-5 in SE trim and it's quicker than I expected. People hear 125Kw and they think that's nothing (I sure did) but it has 280NM of torque. For me personally you can claim to have a 300Kw Honda but without a torque figure I don't care, as that honda will probably be beaten by a 200Kw v8 because it has twice the torque. I can't wait to replace the clutch in my 9-5. As soon as the clutch is done I'm saving up for a AERO turbo + all the other bits and having it tuned to 200kw and 440NM+. The other thing I hear a lot since buying my SAAB is "make sure you have a $1000 ready for when something breaks". Parts for my SAAB are cheaper than parts for my old lancer. I love my car as it's comfortable, great on fuel, bucket loads of torque from the word go, looks great, is well equipped and the best part is my Mrs loves it.
This listing is by far the best listing ever. Putting the BMW as #1 and the EK hatch as #2 is the greatest thing ever. I would swap the Benz and put the MR2 and the Ford for the Toyota 86. Other than that, your list is wicked. You even got a Porsche in the line up. Well done bro !
Man. Every time someone mentions an e36 the price sky rockets!. So please for the sake of my wallet keep the e36 low key I need another one 2 isn’t enough 😂
I've see some on Craigslist with a lot of miles for just a couple hundred bucks. They won't be the nicest car but they're a lot of fun. Mine was under 1k and I'm glad I got it. I haven't been able to find an M3 engine yet but I'm looking.
Yep, I got a BMW 328IC Vert for under $2K and replaced the cooling system proactively. I removed all the plastic parts prone to break and added some nice wheels. Car looks and runs great! I will either trade in for an M3 later when I can afford more or I will swap to an M3 motor.
Yeah i definitely know about swaps.. But this guy is talking about a 98+ audi s4 b5 that has the 2.7bi turbo he isnt talking about swapping engines. Sorry for correcting you i can see your not taking it well
To bad 4 years later lots of these are worth a lot more. Recently got an n52 e60 525 for 5k with no issues. Plan on doing the 3 Stage intake, Milvs, ITB's, and a supercharger. your in the range of 400hp on stock block and head. Price after car + parts + tune your at around 12k TOTAL for a 400hp RWD or AWD luxury sports car with more features then some base model cars today.
I was super surprised the bmw 335i wasn’t on here. It has a timeless design, and can be picked up for under $8k. If you spend another $1500 in bolt ons and a JB4 tune you get a bit over 400HP. I’ve personally seen a few destroy M3’s. The N54 is a beast, even though it does have its reliability issues lol. People have even gone the single turbo route and managed to get 700hp out of it. It’s a very very versatile platform. You can also choose from 4 different body styles, The wagon, sedan, coupe, and cabriolet. Personally I think it’s one of the best cars you can get for under $10k. I also agree with the Porsche, it’s another great car for the money. Just make sure you have service records on the IMS bearing!! Great video btw!
So proud to see the Corrado on this list, Got one for my 16th birthday, and of course like all corrados it needs work but over a decade later I still have it, so since that one wasn't running yet since I wanna rebuild it right I bought another Corrado as a daily to keep clean and stock lol
The Italian Tune-Up Pro you wont get a showroom condition Cosworth and sure as hell you wont find its EVO cousins neither You proly get a low tier 190E
Kelly Dunois HAVE YOU SEEN HOW MUCH THOSE COSWORTHS ARE APPRECIATING?! It’s nuts. I’ve had just a regular 2.6 190e and I must say, they don’t make them with that quality anymore. I was shocked at how amazing that little $1200 car ran and handled! Driver’s mod helped me destroy a dude in an S2000 on some twisties! I will have another someday.
There's such a good looking, tuned and not expensive e36 for sale in my country, buy I'm only 15. Can't wait until I'm 18 and I got my drivers licence, the e36 will definitely be my first car! Love it!
Lol...all the nissan Sentras were slow(even the Nismo). None of them got below 15 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Or below 6 seconds 0-60mph. Tons of other cars that can get into 13 second 1/4 mile times for under 10,000$ that handle better, are quicker and have better parts oem.
Yo, also, some ideas for future videos: a list of top "mafia boss-esque" type cars that make you feel like an OG when you drive them. All from around the 80s/90s/early 00s era like the Lexus LS 400, Toyota Crown, Mercedes W126, BMW 6/7 series, Toyota Century Limo etc. What would be even more dope, would be if you made two separate videos, one for 2 door cars, and one for 4 door cars. Other than that, awesome content. Love the vids
Having good weight distribution, good suspension, and a high weight to power ratio makes a car fun. A miata with a lightweigjt aluminum LS and upgraded drivetrain and suspension...most fun a person can have.
I own a BMW E46 325Ci, first car I bought with my own money, I got it for 1800 euro, but it needed some repairs which cost around 300 euro (usually they go for 3000 to 3500 euro so it was a good choice... I love the way it handles and I am thinking about modifying it soon, nearly 200hp is quite good for a car that size, but I want it to be quite better... My friend got a EK9 with a 1.4l engine and he is thinking about swapping it when he gets the money with something way more powerful Both cars go from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8 sec which is quite good for a stock car... One thing I don't agree with... I'd prefer the Audi A3 with 1.8T engine, it is lighter and easier to work on because of the engine placement and that engine is SOLID, like, there are close to 800 hp ones around here...
I have a 03 cobra That I absolutely love but I don’t put much miles on it. Been looking for a cheap daily that I can tune for cheap. So I’m definitely going with the HATCH
Are you talking about the IS200 that was released in the US or UK? the IS200 was labeled at the IS300 in the states. if that is what you are talking about, it should have been #1
Ah, I'm half with you... love my MK4 1.8T for the little money I've thrown at it, I've made it into much more of a fun drive, better handling and better looking than how it was stock ... but you're not doing any of that for under $10k with a MK6... you can't even get a MK6 GTI for that... maybe there's a 'couple' of MK5 GTI's just under the $10k enough to leave a little bit of change for repairs and maybe a cheaper mod or 2... but a "MK6 GTI" for under $10k ?!?! And with change to spare for upkeep and mods?!? "Tell him he's dreamin'!" - Darryl Kerrigan
Love My 1994 E36 325i. 4 door fully loaded. With 230,000+on the Odometer. And the engine still fires and runs like the day it came off the factory floor. 👍👍👍 my daily even though it should be my weekend car. Smile every time I fire her up to go to work.
got an bmw e36 328i coupe rat rod for 200€ perfectly working. the preowner had no clue that the car might be worth some money because it looked so rusty but the only rust it had was one the surfaces. easy paint job and i got an awesome car
I know you mentioned the VW Corrado VR6 but I think the VW Golf 4 R32 or VR6 are really fun to modify and tune, and I found quite a lot of them for 10k or less.
got me a 2001 volvo v70 t5 for about 800, put about 3-4k in it (Tranny cooler, suspension, other small maintenance), best car I've owned. 250 hp stock, easy 600 dollars tune for ~300 hp, IPD exhaust for another ~10 HP or so, and you're set.
Ugh I miss my B5. Also, the myth of the 2.7 being finicky and unreliable is lame. I had a S4 and DD it for 3.5 years. I just did basic maintenance and a timing belt/water pump/thermostat at once. I shouldn’t have ever got rid of it and I regret it for the past 1.5 years. #vdubfolyfe
I had a B5 S4 as well in the rare burgundy color, even a salesman that works at my local BMW dealership wanted to buy it from me. Unfortunately I lost it in a car accident. A truck switched lanes without looking so he basically squished me between him and the guard rail. Very fun car and very reliable as well, never had an issue with it. The only major issue I had was with the stock K03s the car brings, one of them died, so I decided to replace them to K04's that I got from 2 different Audi TTs. My friend had an e46 M3, after I beat him a couple of times he decided to get a B8 S5 LMAOOO. If i ever get another Audi my options would be another B5 S4, a B8 S4 or a A7 tbh
Most of these cars are popular so they're becoming harder to find that haven't been beat to hell. 240s are (and have been for a while) so popular that when you do find one clean, it's ridiculously expensive considering it's age. Other cars have a similar problem, but not to the same degree.
Had a 93 VR6 Corrado. Constant electrical problems and everything about it was expensive and hard to find but I still wish I hadn't sold it. It truly drove like it was on a rail. I miss that car.
just remember kids, its about affording the maintenance and the mods...not about the car itself
Varg Sutton THIS! This is key. Able to buy the car is not the same as affording it

Dude, we already had to view an ad. Lol. It's good you know your stuff though.
SAAB for life! Owning 2001 9-3 aero. Easy wins over Bmws, Audis and Mercs. And dirty cheap.
I have 9-5 aero 294whp
Very nice.
Can't believe you took the Miata off the list. From V8 to JV6 Honda swaps its such an amazing tuner car.
If my local scene is anything to go off, *everyone is doing it*
Generally more expensive then 10K for something in good condition though.
If you want a miata but don’t want a mistake get a MR2
I know Civics are good cars, but sad the Miata got replaced by one.
“Turn tight ones in Oakland, Ca” hell yeah, Yay Area 🤟🏾

I found a 3500 Mitsubishi evo 3. very nice car. and drives great. also, looks good in the section of upgradea
Man. Every time someone mentions an e36 the price sky rockets!. So please for the sake of my wallet keep the e36 low key I need another one 2 isn’t enough 😂
Agreed man I'm trying to pick up a 2dr 328is to top of my collection.
israel zamorano they used to be dirt cheap. I got my first 325 for 500 bucks (US) I’d be lucky to get the same car for 3k now
get an e30
Dank Guy e30s are super expensive in the states
Zombie Head and the junky 316 ‘tis 😂😂 forget those. The TIs are the ugly cousin you see at the bmw reunion
G37s coupe 6MT . Picked my mine up for 9k.
:Modern vehicle, VQ37, amazing exhaust note ;)
Had ine was great then it was totally totaled, now what 335i?
i’m about to buy a 2008 350z, my buddy has a 98 integra gs-r, my other buddy has a 2006 subaru wrx. gonna be fun rollin up to car meets in jdm’s
Thats soo nice bruh. Nissan 350z is a really cool car
350z is certainly your best bet for 10k
Above Average Autos Ayee!!! Lol
C5 vette is way better
Warhead Urban Exploration tru
but the 240 is so sexy
its my dream car
The Audi S4 looks awesome. I've always loved the car's styling. But its unreliability and repair costs have always prevented me from owning one.
This video helped me out so much when deciding what car to get, had to come back cuz I miss Tony :(
Thats crazy how you can get a 325 or 328 and get the m3 engine all in easily.. I want one now 😂😂 it'll cost less
You can find decent M3's all day for under 10, at least where I live (northeast us)
I've see some on Craigslist with a lot of miles for just a couple hundred bucks. They won't be the nicest car but they're a lot of fun. Mine was under 1k and I'm glad I got it. I haven't been able to find an M3 engine yet but I'm looking.
Orlando Tovar just remember to reinforce the subframe, if you want to make some real power, I got a e36 320i :-)
I think the 325 engine is much more tunable
iwantanewaccount1 E30 life !
*Big BOOST!*
Mazda 6, I'm a little bias, I own one.
Adam Crockett lol
Put big boost through any LS or LQ motor and you'll have way more power than any of these unreliable shit boxes for wayyyy less money.
You can find clean g35 and sometimes g37 for under 10k manual and two door.
Otto Deilke 350z it’s basically the same but cheaper
@@toadfullya3558 350z is more expensive than g35 in my location.
Ur not gonna find a g37 for under 20k lol

Yep, I got a BMW 328IC Vert for under $2K and replaced the cooling system proactively. I removed all the plastic parts prone to break and added some nice wheels. Car looks and runs great! I will either trade in for an M3 later when I can afford more or I will swap to an M3 motor.
That red S4 has an AAN inline 5 in it. Not the 2.7 V6
Chephren Fleischner no such thing as a s4 with inline 5. First gen s4 is 2.7 bi turbo. next gen s4 b6 is v8 n/at
Tyler Beston False. Google the 1993 UrS4. It was built on the C instead of the B chassis but was still marketed as an S4
Yes agreed but that red s4 isnt a 1993. Just saying
The Alm racing car has something called an engine swap. Just saying.
A new Donut upload. Need that
G35/350Z
Max Colegrove 350z’ have hella insurance rates tho
thats why you go g35 sedan
And now g37s

Had two g35x in the past year. Totaled both of them:( great cars for the money. Looking to get another
My dad has 97' Honda NSX as a project cat, it's fun to drive, that V6 is a beast
So proud to see the Corrado on this list, Got one for my 16th birthday, and of course like all corrados it needs work but over a decade later I still have it, so since that one wasn't running yet since I wanna rebuild it right I bought another Corrado as a daily to keep clean and stock lol
I have a 91 G60 I bought the year my youngest kid was born that was

@@DMACHOLMAN nice dude! Cant say I blame ya for not getting rid of it lmaooooo they are just awesome
Oh noooo!!! They mentioned the 190e; it’s not as big of a secret now!!
The Italian Tune-Up Pro you wont get a showroom condition Cosworth and sure as hell you wont find its EVO cousins neither
You proly get a low tier 190E
Kelly Dunois HAVE YOU SEEN HOW MUCH THOSE COSWORTHS ARE APPRECIATING?! It’s nuts. I’ve had just a regular 2.6 190e and I must say, they don’t make them with that quality anymore. I was shocked at how amazing that little $1200 car ran and handled! Driver’s mod helped me destroy a dude in an S2000 on some twisties! I will have another someday.
What mods you had on the 190e
i wanna save up for one so bad itll take me a while i hope they dont get too expensive ill prob kms
The Italian Tune-Up Pro 1200$ ??
There's such a good looking, tuned and not expensive e36 for sale in my country, buy I'm only 15. Can't wait until I'm 18 and I got my drivers licence, the e36 will definitely be my first car! Love it!
91-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R - The forgotten 90's Nissan
Exactly! The Sentra is such a nice little performance sedan, you can just make it rip with just a few bolt ons!
Shhhh, keep the secret.
Ugly as dirt
98 200sx SE-R is the secret
The E39 is pretty great too. I own one.
Talking about Tuner Cars, not boats.
Lol
Man you made me jealous :D I'm in love with german cars, and man even im an Audi fan, the E39 is a car i want pretty much :'D
no offense, but 3 of my friends have had them. they werent a nice ride and they rusted up like hell
They are kinda ugly but still iconic.I own a 525i
Yo, also, some ideas for future videos: a list of top "mafia boss-esque" type cars that make you feel like an OG when you drive them.
Your cars that made the list were probably the cars I would have picked when I was 7 years old for my list
make a part 2
I agree. I picked up an e36 and it’s by far been my favorite chassis and super fun bone stock
4:18 "SCHAISSE" 😂😂😂😂😂😂

The Acura Integra definitely deserves a mention!

1. NA Miata
2. E36 M3
3. Z32 300ZX

5. Boxster S
6. FC RX-7
8. 190E
9. Corrado VR6
10. EK9 Civic
11. B5 S4

Having good weight distribution, good suspension, and a high weight to power ratio makes a car fun.
A miata with a lightweigjt aluminum LS and upgraded drivetrain and suspension...most fun a person can have.
The drifting red b5 s4 is actually a 2.2 5 cyl turbo swap not a 2.7
I own a BMW E46 325Ci, first car I bought with my own money, I got it for 1800 euro, but it needed some repairs which cost around 300 euro (usually they go for 3000 to 3500 euro so it was a good choice... I love the way it handles and I am thinking about modifying it soon, nearly 200hp is quite good for a car that size, but I want it to be quite better...
My friend got a EK9 with a 1.4l engine and he is thinking about swapping it when he gets the money with something way more powerful
Both cars go from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8 sec which is quite good for a stock car...
One thing I don't agree with... I'd prefer the Audi A3 with 1.8T engine, it is lighter and easier to work on because of the engine placement and that engine is SOLID, like, there are close to 800 hp ones around here...
E36 325i for me, absolute beast
e46 respect
I just picked up a 1992 BMW e36 325is non vanos car for 2k with 70,000 original miles. The body is super clean with no dents or scratches.

AU / NZ - mk6 GTIs are highly recommended. heaps of aftermarket tuning companies out there.

Tony why don't you do a special on what cars you owned/own, current mods/future mods, how much you bought it for etc. Thanks
got an bmw e36 328i coupe rat rod for 200€ perfectly working. the preowner had no clue that the car might be worth some money because it looked so rusty but the only rust it had was one the surfaces. easy paint job and i got an awesome car
Add Toyota Pickup 93' to that list. The 22RE is INCREDIBLY build-able. We got one for $500 with slight rust! 3000 LBS 4 wheel drive mini truck ftw.

Nissan 300ZX?
heavy and slow
We're All Thieves NA still makes 220hp.
More of a highway cruiser, not like the light and sporty z cars before and after it
No, it’s terrible in parts and to work on, I have one and sometimes I regret buying it
Bayk man I love that car
Carlo Hernandez Mojica why an a7? They're huge lol
Joshuabrutl i would get for like a weekend vehicle not for having fun lol. That interior man and the design is just beautiful
Yeah b5s are bullet proof, mine has 200k miles and I take it to the drag strip and up and down mountains

Most of these cars are popular so they're becoming harder to find that haven't been beat to hell. 240s are (and have been for a while) so popular that when you do find one clean, it's ridiculously expensive considering it's age. Other cars have a similar problem, but not to the same degree.
Yeah 240 is legit.
