i find it funny how he says you cant find a unmodified brz and i look out my window and see a unmodified brz outside because its super rare to see a modified car where i live
Brz's are pretty rare where I live as well, but the gt86 is the common variant and can still find unmodified versions of it as well
Where I used to live (I moved a couple of days ago) there was like, 15 different brz / gt86 but only 1 was modified
If its owned by a 24/yr old guy like me its probably not stock but i still see 35+ year old owners who drive them stock
I bought a brz and then a bunch of them started showing up in my town

Mazdaspeed Protege was the first Mazdaspeed introduced to the public for one year. It was the best handling FWD car for it's time. Cheap, if you can find one that hasn't been modified the hell out of.
I had one back in the day, great car, although they did have their share of quirks/issues. I modded mine pretty heavily. But I doubt there are any left around that are worth buying, I haven't even seen one around in years. I sold mine back in 2012 with only 75k miles, but the kid I sold it to totaled it soon after.

@@alexvakhlis6090 I live in PA where I see them around quite a bit. I own the non-turbo version and I've been trying to buy a turbo version but everyone who has one doesn't want to sell it. I know three people in my area that have pristine stock MSP's
@@BedjamRivera that’s cool man. I can’t even remember the last time I saw one just driving around. A few years ago I tried finding another one to keep around and build the way I would have wanted to back in the day, but every one I came across were just beaten to death and really rough all around.
They weren't that reliable and rusted quick af.
Tbh the RX7 FC is one of my favorite cars of all time, I think its even better than the FD which I also love

I got a local rx4 from 75 for 350 bucks. Engine is stuck and a bunch of other problems but the rust is fixed on a big part of the chassis. Perfect for a 16 yearold 😁👍🏼

2008 mazdaspeed3 here. picked it up for $1200, 102k miles. best car ever
The type S vs Base model k20's in the RSX are a lot more different than you think. To keep things simple, the k20a2 comes in the type S has a different VTEC system than the k20a3. More aggressive cams and higher compression pistons makes the k20a2 the more advanced, better motor. If you are really looking to make power, get that k20a2.

The type s comes with the k20z1, not the a, the si for example has the z3 youre thinking bout the k24 where the k24a and a2 are the ones to look for

The FC is actually one of my first dream cars. I used to watch Initial D as a kid and fell in love with Ryoskue's FC3S (although I didn't love the mods he did to it for the race against the Shinigami R32). If I can, I'll build one exactly like his some day

I just saw a guy a couple weeks ago whipping through the twisties in a Mazdaspeed 3. I was staying right behind him in my K24 Accord, but he is definitely faster with more power and looks like he's got suspension and handling upgrades.
Average import cost from Japan is around 8.5k
You could just buy direct since u.s.d. out values Japanese money.

Got my crx si-r a few years ago.. fkn love it.. looks good with my crx 89 si with fully corrected integra front rear knuckle swap, booster and mastercylinder w b18a1..... anyone buying a early 90s car should learn how to rewire/pin plugs and how to actually restore thier cars.. expect a project
Surprised the CRX wasn't on the list and the 90s Integra was. I don't think you are touching a clean version of either for under $10k today.
I picked up a convertible Manual Miata for 5k- the only changes made were replaced top and a aftermarket Borla exhaust (sounds really bad though) but so far only thing i had to replace was a belt. Pretty good little thing

Just bought myself a N/A 1990 300zx for $4300 but it needs quite a bit of work personally I think it was totally worth it but it’s gonna take a while to get it out on the road which is ok because of Canada’s ugly laws against right hand drive cars I can’t legally drive it for another 2-3 years
I have z32 so clean I shake when I drive it. I’ll sell it to you when the prices get around $60,0000

Mazdaspeed3 is a dream
I got my 02 RSX for $1.7K, in June of 2020. It has 137K miles, clean title, and I’m the 2nd owner. Had a few problems such as whole new power steering system, regular maintenance and such, but that’s nothing honestly. It may be auto, but I don’t regret a thing. Who wouldn’t buy it for that low with only a few problems. Love it man, even now at the end of 2021, honestly 🤙🏼🔥

Extremely slow but cool...I’m used to fast American muscle cars, like I said super cool but you have to build it to go really fast because it weighs over 3100 lbs

@@Random-eb2bv I love American muscle cars because you can take a 2013 mustang GT, throw a pro charger on it and run 10 seconds in quarter mile and go over 600 hp, whereas you have to build a car like a Supra to run 10s

@@61936 Rose-colored glasses. They forget that the AE86 wasn't a fast car by any stretch of the imagination. It was a grocery getter. That was the entire point of the anime that made it famous.
My altima smoked my friends BRZ straight line. It's a little overated as a "sports" car.
350z is like my dream car but its impossible to get a cheap one in norway. They are all above 40k

I had a 79 Rx7 it was fun as hell. Unfortunately the exhaust manifold basically deteriorated and couldnt find another. Ended up getting rid of it and regret to this day.
I'll hopefully be getting a Miata after not too long, but my other option was a '91 Isuzu impulse, and I'd LOVE to see a new in depth video about one before buying it. it's a very rare car and I just want an idea if what I could be getting into lol, it's a right hand drive here in the US. if you can, I'd really appreciate if you could cover it! all the love, from a soon-to-be Miata lover

Thank god you mentioned the HPFP for the Mazdaspeed 3. So many people mod these things without upgrading it and run intakes and down pipes without tunes. So many examples of blown engines coz people don’t realise how fussy they can be. I love these cars but they need a to be modified right

mk3 supra is such a slept on car. yeah of course everyone would love a mk4 but youre still getting a rwd 3L inline 6 and if you get any year besides the first you can get a turbo on it. i picked one up for 5k and its sick af. not a huge aftermarket but suprastore and driftmotion have everything youll need

It isn’t a Japanese tuner but another car that’s surprisingly appreciating is the ford crown victoria or any panther platform car. I’ve got a police interceptor with 48,330 miles on it now, just currently down with unusual diff issues 😞

For some reason the G comes with brembos where as the 350 doesnt so wierd to me 🙁
My brother has a G35 and he loves it but I think it's stupid. He has the sedan version and you can't find parts for it and it has many problems with it. I'm personally going to get a 350z because I love the car, it's reliable, it's fast, it's fun, and it looks absolutely amazing.
