What probably happened with Armstrong is that he bid $560k by proxy, the other bidder then bid $561k (which was equal to Armstrong’s max bid). The bidder who bid $561k now has priority and Armstrong now needs to bid $562k to regain the winning bid. However with Armstrong’s max bid at $561k his proxy was unable to go any higher. He was not screwed, he was just outbid. Regardless, even if Matt had bid $562k, the other bidder may have bid higher again so there is no way of knowing what the ultimate price would have been if Matt had had a higher budget.
This is all BS. We have no idea what the other buyer's top bid would have been. If Matt was prepared to pay more, he should have bid more. His mistake.

No he didn't. El Savador (Matt) bid 560, then Georgia bid 561 and the bidding system then showed El Salvador at 561 (which was his maximum). Matt bid second, so loses out. What you see on the screen is poor, and not representative of what happened.
Errr ... quite the opposite, the repair cost wouldn't be significant (around 100k on first looks). The £1.2million is the UK market price, but it would no doubt be repaired in the US, so a potential for a LOT more.

The only way to get ahead in an auction of a car of this caliber is to know as much about the car as possible to see if it's within my reach of skills, budget and parts availability first. Only if it check those boxes I will consider it.
I knew a guy, Kai, back in 05 who had a brand new Carerra GT and he had a blow out at around 90mph and it basically destroyed the car, ripped the front right corner off and he hit something after the blowout. Insurance totaled it and he got a new one, took forever. He was high up on the list at Porsche as he owned many of them all bought brand new. I’ll never forget how insignificant the accident/totaling of that car was to him. Just another day.
I remember getting into one some 20 yrs ago as an audi tech at the dealership, it was $484,000 at the time. To see them at these prices now it's wow eye watering. Great car though got to rev that motor ,will never forget it !
5:45 the passinger airbag seems to be a seperate lid - like the E46 had them you can just replace the airbag and put the lid back into place only down side is - the lid seem to be deformed

Problem with the CGT is there is a recall by Porsche going on due to suspension issues, I think this is why Paul Waller died in one and you see some crashed ones. Owners told not to drive them since last year.

Its doable in the US even. Just a complete nightmare PITA that nobody really bothers with. I watched my grandfather go through it with a customer of his and a very sentimental car. They had to trailer the thing to a state Highway patrol Inspection location, Of which there was only 2 in the state, couple hour drive one way. Multiple times. fixing little things here and there and having to drive it back up only to find they need to fix this other little thing the other inspection guy failed to mention. They probably spent almost as much in gas as they did fixing the car.
When this car was first released we used one on Redline’s the movie, it got totaled at under a 5 mile an hour hit to the passenger side rear wheel bumping the curb and cracking the rear frame to the tube

They are making the money from the raffle company. They only make about 100K through UA-cam adverts a year. Remember when they used to do a video every 2 days when UA-cam adverts used to pay well. Now they don't pay well and UA-camrs are having to find sponsors, merch or raffles. With the raffles they are doubling the money they spend. Wouldn't surprise me if they were making nearly 2 mil a year from it.

Those copart scumbags ripped me off big time, I purchased a 2014 BMW 435D CAT N described as minor cosmetic damage, but after waiting for a while to get the damage repaired we discovered the 6 cylinder was running slightly off. After a bit of investigation I discovered a bent rod. When I went back to copart and complained about undisclosed damage they said it was my tough luck and said I should have checked the car better before bidding (even though we are not allowed to personally inspect vehicles) To repair the engine properly has cost £2500 in parts only. Court case is on the horizon.
