The comments here are truly amazing -- I am honestly overwhelmed by all of the incredible support. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels. I know a lot of UA-camrs buy a lot of exotic cars, so I wasn't entirely sure how this would go -- but I'm so, so thankful that everyone understands just how truly meaningful this is to me. Truly, truly, thank you -- for your support today and over the last 10 years. By the way, something I forgot to mention in this video: every single year on July 15, I call my friend Brett to commemorate our Carrera GT sighting back in 2005 and to catch up. Every year, for 17 years, even on my wedding day! :)
Doug is the only car reviewer who I can watch even when I'm not particularly interested in the model he's reviewing! I'm pretty certain it's because of how cool and genuine he is. So hearing a story like this and seeing him achieve his dreams, I just can't help but smile :) Bless you dude, stay blessed and I can only hope you never stop posting such fantastic content!
At this point its not just about the car, but a life story and all you can achieve by devoting yourself to something. A tiny sparkle of Joy in this universe, but an Ocean for you, Doug. And everyone of us that have seen your story. Just, thank you!
Haha I remember reading his first article on Jalopnik "who is this silly guy" then started following him and... here he is... with his own Carrera GT. I hate you Doug and applaud you for your achievements.
You deserve every bit of this, I’ve Been following since you single handedly stopped carmax from offering warranties on range rovers, I then bought your hilarious book which inspired me to do youtube, in fact a lot of my career success comes from you. Thanks for being here Doug!
I'm happy for you Doug! That "you're also making peoples dreams come true" Hit right in the feels. The people and things around us can motivate and inspire us to do things we thought impossible!!
He’s almost in tears doing his introduction. Much respect. To many people have no idea what it’s like to work from the bottom, start with nothing & attain something you’ve dreamed about in your entire life.
You can tell it's even more than that. It's well beyond his dreams. Hopefully this happens for everyone. I don't mean a supercar. Just something happens to you that is so far off your radar, you didn't even dare dream it. Whether it's getting that girl, that car, that house, that job, that trip, whatever. Just be sure you get out there and do something, everyday. Try new things, get out of your comfort zone. You never know where it's gonna take you.
I saw a 911 at age 10. A 1970 911S. I fell in love . Everything I did from then on was to be able afford Porsche 911s. Education job etc That was 3 GT3s ago
Doug is the only guy who can post a video of his new car online without making it look like he's showing off. You can really feel his passion and love for his new ride! Congrats once again Doug!
I hope to one day be as enthusiastic about something as Doug is about these cars. Proof that if you work hard and dream big you can do whatever you put your heart to.
I've genuinely never been so happy for someone else buying a car. Knowing the number of times you've mentioned this being your dream car over the years and now finally seeing you get one made my day. Congratulations!
Normally I don’t care seeing people get nice things that they always wanted. But I gotta say, that story made very happy you got that car Doug. Truly deserved and happy to see you succeed
Hard working kid* 😂, I always love it when a grown man let's the happiness take them from looking like a restrained "mature" happy man to fully unleashing how really happy they are
Congratulations on your achievement! As a fellow car guy I completely understand the feeling of being able to own your dream car. Proof that hard work and determination can pay off.
Doug's the type of guy who buys a supercar and nobody has hate, envy or anything for it. Hustled hard for years, stayed a humble average guy. Doug, you really deserve that beauty of a car. Much love from Germany
@TDVL Production well, anyone of us could've done what Doug is doing if we'd made the decision to do it at the right time. Doug did it. And i don't think he's been a very privileged dude.
@@NormAppleton so you think he's trying to manipulate people into buying a vector w8 or a Subaru svx? Okay. He came up with an idea nobody had before back then, showing cars in depth without long ass driving reviews. You work hard, you can play hard. That's life. Sorry for you if you're not set up like that.
Man I would be crying during this whole segment if it were me. This is not a normal car review, this is a review basically of your entire success and now you’re enjoying the fruits of your labor. You deserve every bit of this and more Doug, Congrats!
It's not a live interview. You'd stop crying after the first few takes. Doug maybe did cry a bit when the (phone) camera initially started rolling. His voice does seem a little shaky.
@@djhenyo I think he did cry, and that's a sloppy bugar on his face at the end, after he hastily wiped his face. Crying so hard he had snot, good for him.
I’m not crying, you’re crying. The middle part where he had to cut away talking about his wedding day made butterflies in my stomach. Congrats Doug, you deserve this.
You telling us the entire story of your Carrera GT journey, including the wedding that included Carrera GTs, makes this even more special. Thank you Doug for sharing your joy with all of us ! And a huge *congrats* to you for fulfilling this almost life - long dream. SO well deserved !
This is quite probably the best video currently on UA-cam. Doug, your joy and relatability as a supercar owner is as relatable today as it was when the kid we all were going nuts over spotting dream machines. So well deserved. Doug also looking like a young Jay Leno in training here …
Listen to him speak, he's so happy he can barely keep it together. I can just feel it, that sparkle of a true car enthusiast, and the way doug feels represents all that we love about cars and all that we know is special about them. I'm so happy for you man! Let's hope we all get our dream cars!
I don't know you at all, but from the bottom of my heart, I am very happy for you. I see the 16 year old boy you are talking about for the first time ever. God bless my friend.
I don't think you have very many haters, Doug. I watch you on my lunch break every time you upload, whether it's a new supercar, a minivan, or a weird unheard-of Oldsmobile from 1988. I've been watching you since you had the Ferrari and the Hummer, ain't missed a video since. Your videos are consistent, they are thorough, and nobody does car reviews like you do, and I think a great deal of us deeply appreciate it. In the eyes of the car community, I think we all think you deserve this self-treat. Congratulations! Wishing you many happy miles with it!
What I like about Doug is that he gives me the opportunity to feel like I’m actually in the car checking it out for myself. Most UA-camrs get in the car and drive off and be like: “fast car go vroom.” Not Doug.
@@Jeffkanku Solid point, the few times I've gotten to check out a car from one of his videos for myself, I already felt like I knew the car because of how immersive his reviews are.
@@Jeffkanku Same with me and the new F-150 Lightening, and Kia EV6. I left the chaperone speechless as I confidently pressed buttons and made changes lol
The fact that he remembers the exact date he fell in love with the car as well as the corresponding wedding date, the ring bearers, the toy cars… that made me emotional and it is amazing that all of the steps lead Doug to this point. You deserve it and I am glad to see you being so happy with your Carrera GT.
This is an amazing video. It's amazing to hear how much this car has meant to you through the years and I'm super happy you get to have one now. Well earned Doug. It's so cool to see the extra excitement you have during this video.
I spent the majority of those 28 minutes smiling. the joy and happiness you can sense in his voice and on his face is heartwarming. I am very happy for you, Doug!!!
Man I can't believe I've been watching Doug for 8-9 years... Since 2014, absolutely insane. I couldn't help but smile throughout this whole video. Congratulations Doug
It's very cool to see that, similar to the couple moments of tavarish, when he finished the murcielago and 675 McLaren.. not the same energy as building the car back to it's original glory, but the story arch of demuro has been epic, and his hard work and dedication to his craft cannot be denied.. well deserved 👏
You can see the sheer joy and happiness on his face. You can see how humble he is trying to be with it. We all deserve to reach this point of joy and happiness in life. Congrats to you buddy.
When i tell you…. You can hear the uncanny sound of joy in his voice. This video actually makes me want to cry because it’s so refreshing to see someone get something they want. Thank you Doug for sharing this with us!
This is one of the best moments in UA-cam history was made here! Congratulations Doug DeMuro! Happy to see all your hard work pay off in an enormous fashion attracting something so beautiful! I remember those early Carrera GT videos years ago. Amazing time
i dont think ive ever been so happy for someone I never knew personally but I'm so glad you've finally achieved your dreams after all this time. congrats doug!
You can hear the happiness in his voice when he says "MY Carrera GT", it's so beautiful to see when someone has worked so hard for years and is now standing in front of their dream car. Congratulations Doug and thanks for all the things you've done for the car community!
Doug's the type of guy to drive his supercar around with toothpaste on his face and we still love him. This is an awesome milestone in your career and it's inspirational to see how far you've come in a short period of time. Never change Doug, you're still such a regular guy and I think that helps make your videos great.
That smudge is literally one of the best things about this video. It's evidence that at this moment everyone, else in the world is invisible to him. That he transcended to a higher state of being where undeveloped people resemble rattlesnakes-angry little animals making senseless noise and who want to spite you, just for not being them, as he drives past them in a Carrara GT. This is nothing to burden yourself with, that's just the nature of the world. And he's just Doug. The remaining fucks he has to give to people he can't see or hear is a precise zero. In case anyone was wondering. The pure freedom in his heart and spirit is beautiful to see in his smile. (p.s. this post was more for me than anything but I'm posting it instead of deleting it so if it helps someone else then that's great too)
Every car enthusiast is cheering for you my man! You’ve made it and you are sharing the moment with all of us who have been following you since the beginning! Your victory is our victory and your happiness is our happiness just like your tears of joy are our tears too! Well done my friend, proud of you! You deserve it!
We can literally hear you almost breaking into tears at the beginning, this is a dream come true Doug! I'm sure we can all agree that we've been wanting this for you, congrats!
Doug, this isn't just a UA-camr buying an exotic car. This is a man finally acquiring his dream car. I remember how excited you were reviewing someone else's Carrera. I can't imagine how it must feel to review your own. Enjoy the fruits of all your hard work and dedication. Been watching your channel since pretty much the beginning, you deserve every bit of this joy. Live it up.
Obviously, it's very good to be Doug. One thing i've noticed in life is that once you obtain the title, degree, home, wealth benchmark or mechanical item you seek, you soon realize that it was the pursuit rather than the attainment that was really the enjoyment. To this day I think there's a lot of new Corvettes sold off the showroom to people that say to their friends "I could afford a new Corvette if I wanted too..here hold my beer". Then months down the road the shine starts to wear off and some of the warts start to show so the pursuit often begins again. I'm happy for Doug, its big jump from a $150K (ish) Ford GT, to a 7 Figure Carrera GT.
I've never commented on anything in UA-cam, but it really makes me happy to see how excited you were over your new gt. Plus, I'm from Denver Colorado, the place where you first saw the Carrera gt.
Just about shed a tear. I’ve been watching Doug for years and he’s stayed entertaining me through my ups and downs. Seeing his journey progress, especially this, is quite mind boggling. The amount of respect I have for him is really high. Congratulations doug.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more happy for someone that I never met than today. You deserve this Doug. 3 Carrera GT videos later and it’s finally yours, congratulations 🎉😭
I was pretty happy for all those families I never met in Chile when they rescued all those miners way back when...I shed tears of joy and empathy for their relief of being reunited with their loved ones.
@@pex_the_unalivedrunk6785 There’s plenty of heroic and beautiful stories that we may never hear as well but I literally watch this guys videos more than I talk to 90% of my family so for me yeah I never met him but I spend so much time here on his channel I can’t help but be happy for the guy
I've been watching for many, many years. I loved your series about the bumper to bumper warranty on the Range Rover. I watched that, always anticipating the next chapter. Out of anyone, you deserve this more than anyone.
I got the biggest smile on my face when this video popped up in my notifications. Congratulations, Doug. I think all your viewers know how much you deserve this.
This is a type of video that can bring a tear to your eye, watching you for years and seeing that you finally achived your dream, it's amazing. For everything you have brought to us as a content creator, businessman and a unbiased automotive journalist that has risen to the top - you truely deserve every mile and every smile that car will bring you. As a viewer i can only hope you sometimes will take us along for the ride.
Add me to the "shedding a tear while watching this video" group. Seriously Doug, I feel like all of us gearheads have pretty much watched you grow up. You're one of the most affable, genuine and REAL people I've ever had the pleasure of watching or even meeting for that matter. Your success is the result of a child-like interest in something, determination and above all, HARD WORK. We can all learn something from your story. You deserve every positive thing that happens to you and you are a light in an increasingly dark world. Cheers buddy.
the same here when he said that he got married on the date that he fist saw a Carrera GT and had two small cars with the wedding rings I shedded some tears and it's impossible for me to be jealous of him because he worked so had to achieve his goals plus he makes free content on U tube for all of us to enjoy I'm so happy for him he seem like a really good guy .
Doug... You own two of my favorite cars ever made.... in the colors that I'd want them in. I'm both tremendously jealous and happy for you. Congratulations on achieving your dream, we all know how hard you had to work to get here and I'm happy to say I've had the pleasure of watching you on and off since your started the channel. Congratulations!
Man I can't believe I've been watching Doug for 8-9 years... Since 2014, absolutely insane. I couldn't help but smile throughout this whole video. Congratulations Doug
I had to read that title a few times to make sure I saw it correctly. I've quite literally grown up watching Doug's videos, from middle school all the way to now in college and this damn near brought a tear to my eye. It's amazing to see this man achieve his dreams in a way that some deem impossible. Thisssss... is how its done.
Seeing this made me cry, point blank just bawled my eyes out. As a kid I had a poster of an Aventador on my wall and all I’ve ever wanted was that stupid, loud, poorly shifting Italian super car. And someday when I get it I hope I’m just as happy meeting my heroes as Doug is here. His sincerity is so unbelievably inspiring it’s incredible.
Don't listen to these comments that make you feel stupid You can cry about everything and nobody has the right to decide what should make someone cry and what shouldn't Personally I think they this is amazing
Well Doug did just get a $37 million dollar cash injection to Cars and Bids. The investment comes from The Chernin Group, as part of the deal, Ro Choy takes the role of Chief Executive Officer of Cars and Bids. Ro Choy was the CEO of an On Demand Cannabis Delivery service, and The CEO of BitTorrent ... So that would seriously free up some of his own cash. He deserves every bit of success.
The excitement in Dougs voice. Like a kid seeing his dream car. Congratulations Doug. From the humblest car review’s years ago to what you’ve accomplished today. Keep up the great work
@@Disruptor1013 he ALWAYS repeats that you need a lot of luck and he had it. Never acts like he was better, like he knew what to do. So while hard work is not enough Doug really appreciated everything he got over the years, which is really rare
it’s so incredible to watch your excitement with this video, the culmination of your hard work and risks paying off to your ultimate dream, congrats Doug! 🎉
Just started watching your Wii videos. Brings back memories as I used to play the Wii a lot throughout the early 2010s. Didn't know you watched Doug too
This made me so happy to watch congratulations Doug!!! I remember being 8 going to the 2005 Greensboro auto-show with my grandpa and seeing this car on display and falling in love instantly. The sweet people at Porsche let me sit in it and gave me a free key fob before we left the booth and I'll never forget that day. This car brings back so many memories and nostalgia of that era of super cars but honestly this one has a unique spirit the others just weren't able to capture imo. Doug's living out the dream of many haha.
How emotional he is at the end and how genuinely thankful he is for supporting the channel gives me some feels. I’ve been watching the since the beginning and it’s so cool how he’s built his brand and is still so genuine in his shorts and two tshirts. Congrats Doug, you deserve it!
Hearing how excited Doug was to show us this car at the start of the video you can really tell how much this means to him. So very happy to see a hard-working genuine guy realize a dream. Congrats Doug!
This is so much more special than other youtubers buying new supercars every other week. The emotional connection is awesome. Doug, you absolutely deserve it and thank you for sharing your journey
Faxts dude I been watching Doug since he let RCR reviews his Ferrari, doug is probably one of last few genuine car guys. He definitely has a passion for these beautiful automobiles, especially his Porsche 😍😍
As a car and in particular a Porsche fan, I am so happy that Doug has achieved his dream of owning a Carrera GT. It is good to know that such an amazing machine will be driven buy someone who loves the car for what it is, not just an investment sat in an air-conditioned garage and looked at occasionally. It also gives me hope that one day I will be able to afford my own dream car, a 964 Carrera. 2. Best bit of the video is the last couple of seconds, when you can hear the emotion in Doug’s voice, it means so much to him. I would have liked to have seen what would have happened if the camera kept rolling for another 30 seconds.
THISSSSS. Is what life should be about. Finding true joy in your passion and sharing it with the people who supported you along the way. One of the most moving tributes I've seen to both a car, and a career, probably ever. Godspeed Doug. You earned this.
As a fan of this channel for several years, and having watched nearly every single video, it makes me so happy to see a real enthusiast like Doug getting his dream car. All is right with the world 🙌🏻
Doug is the type of guy who made me smile form one ear to another during 28 minutes while having tears of happinness. Weird but true. My face even hurts from smiling that much. Doug, I am so happy for you. It's so heartwarming to see such a passionate dude get his dream realised. I wish you all the best. Much love from a French baguette living in Germany.
HUGE congrats Doug! You went from your carspotting hobby to working with these amazing cars and... now you also own them! That's like the biggest dream for a random carspotter like me, and it takes so much effort that it almost seems impossible.... but you did it💪
Congratulations Doug... i really really feel empathy and understand that pure and genuine smile you have; at the end of the day, probably is the most valuable thing that you transmit to your channel's viewers, genuine good one you are. I have a 1978 308GTB (my all-times dream is a 288GTO... absolutely unreachable, as you might understand) and i enjoy and feel enormous pleasure every single time i go to the garage and take a look, 8 years after getting it... When i saw your Ford GT, wow, that version you have is WONDERFUL, i recall myself buying magazines in the early 00s just for that car, but a Carrera GT, big thing my friend. I'm really really happy for you. Cheers from Spain.
I love this video. It’s so wholesome to hear Doug talk about how he was chasing his dreams back in the days while sitting in front of his biggest one that he just achieved. Congratulations to you Doug, you truly deserve it!
You can hear the emotion in Doug's voice throughout this video, from the moment he first said it was his car. So happy for him, he deserves all the success and support coming his way!
Thank you for sharing these wonderful story about your own Carrera GT. Because of lots of your videos and the Carrera GT videos, i decided to find a diecast model of Carrera GT as an inspiration. Luckily someone last month offer me a perfect-still in the box, Maisto 1/18 Carrera GT in the same color as yours, with the same yellow brake caliper. Thanks again for inspiring all of us to pursue our interest and hobby
Doug's best video without a doubt. This isn't just a video about a supercar. It's a video about a man working hard, and achieving his dream. Truly inspirational!
Doug is THE type of guy. This is so wholesome, so well-deserved, and such a heartwarming story. Congratulations on everything. Your success, Cars and Bids, your beautiful family, and, most-importantly, on staying true to yourself. You’re an amazing man, Doug. Congratulations again!
Probably the most I have ever smiled watching a UA-cam video. You are beyond passionate about this car and to see how happy you are to finally have it makes me so happy. You earned it. You deserve absolutely everything and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you and this incredible car.
Thiiiiissss is a man who deserves happiness! You are the model of “hard work pays off.” Just want you to know we all see the hard work you’ve put in, and we all think you absolutely deserve all the success and good fortune you’ve had. Thank you so much for years of quality content, inspiration, and of course… quirks and features!
Doug Dear Doug, i’m really happy for you. I can feel your happiness, i can see that 16 year old young Doug’s sparkle in your eyes. I really enjoyed to listening story of your dream car and seeing that you achived that dream. You are a grown man but your eyes, your face, your sound perfectly reflects that 16 years old kids passion and excitement. Hell of a story, hell of a road. Congrats man and thank you for years of car reviews and passion, good, detailed and educational content about cars. I got a little, short story too, i don’t know you could read or anyone care but i just want to tell. I’m a petrolhead / car enthusiast too. My passion is about Ferrari. I’m from Turkey. In first month of 2008, Shell decided to gifting Ferrari toy/model cars again. In those times; i’m 9-9.5 years old and i didn’t know so many things about car. But i did love cars and my favorite color was red, still red. I see that Ferrari commercial with Schumi on TV. I wasn’t know what is a Ferrari but i was excited and i wanted that toys. One days my father bought some gas in a Shell station. I wanted a toy and he said “Okay go and get your toy”. I went to the Shells market and i told that man I want the black Ferrari. He said “Unfortunately we don't have any black Ferraris left. But you can take this one. This one is a brand new and succesful Ferrari too”. It was a Ferrari F430 Challenge and it literally directed my life. In that day i met with the meaning of my life, Ferrari. I loved Ferrari and i learned about Ferrari. With years, Ferrari become the very thing that defines me and shaped my life. My all time dream Ferrari is F40 because she is the most Ferrari Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari’s last love, build for only race feeling, performance on road. I never even see one because my country is not really into cars. My feelings about Ferrari and F40 is just like your feelings about Carrera GT. I want to own my beautiful F40 some day. And i’m working for it. But not only F40. F40 is my favorite Ferrari road car all time, so far okay. But my life’s meaning is Ferrari word’s definition. Racing passion, dream cars, feeling, freedom. Ferrari is not a race team or a brand or a surname. Ferrari is the passion about four wheels. Ferrari didn’t designed first roadcar or racecar. But gave them soul. Ferrari is my life’s meaning and purpose. Right now i’m 24 years old senior Engineering Student. My only purpose is became a succesful engineer in Ferrari. Making Ferraris better. Making Ferrari great again in people’s vision. Inspiring chields with dream cars and racing success. Dream racecars. I hope some day i can succeed just like you and show everyone that true car enthusiast’s sparkle in my eyes. Congrats again, i’m really, truely happy for you.

He is the epitome of hard & work & determination. Truly happy he got his dream car! Congrats!
He just review's cars
Normally I don’t care seeing people get nice things that they always wanted. But I gotta say, that story made very happy you got that car Doug. Truly deserved and happy to see you succeed
overhyped
I can't avoid but feel happy for Doug, a hard working man that achieved his dreams through years of dedication, truly a legend

And i don't think he's been a very privileged dude.
ok
No he's a youtube manipulator, and you bought it. Now he's bragging
@@NormAppleton so you think he's trying to manipulate people into buying a vector w8 or a Subaru svx? Okay. He came up with an idea nobody had before back then, showing cars in depth without long ass driving reviews. You work hard, you can play hard. That's life. Sorry for you if you're not set up like that.
hustled hard? maybe. but not worked hard.
Ha i gotta admit I got choked up there a bit too myself 💚😅
You’re both crying!
I‘m so happy I clicked on this video! I saw one once in a parking lot and I stood there mesmerized for more than ten minutes.
I love Doug, this thoroughness , his insights on cars but gah damn his voice gets a little to shaken for me when he gets really excited.
I've been dreaming of a Bentley GT for 8 years now. I've driven 5 so far and a 2012 GT Convertible was really impressive.
Is there a book on how to afford $1m+ supercars with UA-cam income? I’d pay for that and quit my job!

@@man_on_wheelz I had to drive a VW ID4 for an event and I knew how EVERYTHING worked just because of Doug and I though that was the coolest thing.

Very pertinent
The fact that he remembers the exact date he fell in love with the car as well as the corresponding wedding date, the ring bearers, the toy cars… that made me emotional and it is amazing that all of the steps lead Doug to this point. You deserve it and I am glad to see you being so happy with your Carrera GT.

Never change Doug, you're still such a regular guy and I think that helps make your videos great.

Yup...he could have reshot the vid but you know what...F it!

Dear Doug, i’m really happy for you.
