This just hurt my soul...Jealousy is a ROTTEN emotion. Nip should still be here. I attended his funeral at Staples and it was beautifully done. This makes me shed tears all over again. Rest in Power, Nip 💙

I didn’t get there in time but I was outside Staples and even from outside, the energy was next level. There will never be another Nipsey Hussle in our lifetime and it’s so sad bc he should still be here. He lived in his truth and power and stayed when someone of his caliber wouldn’t. Even Boosie spoke the truth when he said most rappers die in their own city. 😢 RIH Neighborhood 💙🏁

🙏🏽I never told a lot of people this💙🙏🏽I met Nipsey in downtown L.A. at the Department of Public Services near UCLA I was trying to get food stamps that day.he was in a chair with his back against the wall..I noticed him he looked at me I looked at him (meaning we had to feel a sign of acknowledgement for unseen respect with out speaking aka respect)he nodded his head I did the same. When he got up his height was like on stilts.(His hair was in braids hanging down to his neck..he had a black hoodie, with tan dickie shorts and a Egyptian key of life necklace ) and blue bandana in his back left pocket and royal blue chucks.he got up and went out the door I need to smoke a cigarette so I went out there too. I asked him for a lighter we both stood outside talking introducing ourselves he was real relaxed as we spoke back and forth. He was very humble he gave me a mixtape from his hoodie and said what’s your name so I told him. He said “they call me Nipsey lil cuz I’m from Slauson.Ave.” He said to hit him up when I’m over that way and we shook on it. He walked away and I thought something about dude is so strong but humble Respect travels anyway when real recognizes real💙💪🏽🙏🏽RIP ONE OF THE MOST FEARLESS MEN ALIVE NIPSEY HUSSLE

Nipsey is the inspiration to every natural born hustler that's been grinding to get to that next level..the day he died it hit me real hard ..it was like losing a real stand up homie ..i couldn't listen to his music for a few months..i remember when i started listening to his music and watching his videos again thats when the tears ...i was one of the first dudes in my city that had a marathon cap and hoodie ... Slauson boy two and Crenshaw should have been albums but VL is a classic album thats well put together it hurt me that he didn't win that grammy but i liked how positive he was about it and gave cardi her props on her grind...rip nipsey

I am in agreement with a whole bunch of others--this has to be one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. What I noticed, too, is that you took an approach that other documentarians seemingly miss: You covered none of the negative in a cliché manner (those on-camera moments with the late Mr. Asghedom checking someone, etc.) and those necessary omissions made this documentary all the more powerful. Too, this documentary went hard and productively for the entire 2 hours and 6 minutes. Thank you for investing the time and labor into honoring this brotha and his Hu$tle. We all know no one is perfect, but in the Rap/Hip-hop game, he seemed savvy at navigating the terrain as well as building a brand and remaining true to his core vision.
What they accomplished in that strip mall complex, The Marathon, makes his murder seemed much bigger than the suspect's actions. I am from an era where conspiratorial thinking was not associated with the likes the Trump and his followers, so when I say this, I don't mean it lightly. Look, we all know, if we are watching this documentary, that certain groups of people in this country do not want to see (young) black people, anywhere, buying and owning property. And, when young black entrepreneurs buy and own property, and by virtue of these actions/purchases, inspire those communities to do better, by the communities' own terms, these kinds of things begin to attract a certain kind of negative attention. We have seen it many times before: the attack on Black Wall Street, for example; or, the historical portraits of black municipalities across this country that became subject to racist violence by lynch mob and the likes, as a cover, in actuality, for disenfranchising those communities of socio-political economic resources as well as siphoning from these communities, modes of self-determination (Ida B. wells-Barnett has documented this extensively, wherein she referred to lynching as a color-line murder). We may never know, really, the motivation behind the suspect's actions, but I think maybe someone up high took the suspect's personal beef with Nipsey and, thereby, created an opportunity of killing the proverbial "two birds" with one stone. . . .or a few shots.
Thank you, again, bruh for this documentary and for convincing me to check out more of his music and read up on his different entrepreneurial approaches/models.

What's happening is by design... The people that are behind all of this, will eventually pay for what they've done... But in the meantime, you should look up the history of COINTEL- PRO... What happened to Nipsey Hussle, was in all likelihood a Government operation...
In addition, the people that currently control the United States Government are also evil incarnate filth/trash... You must come to understand this reality...

Nipsey hustle’s death will always be one of the hardest hitting deaths in the music industry for me. This man is the embodiment of inspiration. Even more now that I know his story and what happened. It is crazy how one idiot could take out one beacon of hope from the entire community over essentially nothing.

The marathon continues and this was a great documentary. Definitely a Nipsey Hussle fan. I first heard him on his song hussle in the house it had the criss cross jump sample on it. First thing I thought was he a lightskin Snoop. The Crip definitely made great music. He also was very intelligent and very articulate with his words. He was self educated too he dropped out of high school yet still was smart. I miss Nipsey alot and may he rest in peace.

He was on his way to really being someone especially kids who can learn from what he was doing in the community positive and giving them opportunities to advance themselves in life. .... Again wonderful job on the documentary. Respect and love to Nipsey family and friends. Rest in Heaven brotha.

I grew up in Chicago but when nip came out with that single in the early 2000’s I was drawn to it as if I was from cali and was a fan from that time on. Hurt my soul when the news broke. I had mixed emotions about his family because I hurt for them so bad but at the same time everything he preached I knew his family would be taken care of for the rest of their time here. Nips body of music might not have put him in the goat convo but nip the man was hands down the goat! Long life nip😢

When people get the resources and decide to improve their neighbourhood, they are killed and the people turn around to blame lack of opportunities as the reason why people engage in these activities. The only people who can develop your community are yourselves and if those who get the opportunity to do so are killed, how do you expect to develop?
