1:29:22 You missed a key point. 2Pac made the original "Hit Em Up" in October 1995 for All Eyez On Me. When 2Pac and Faith hung out she heard the beat and went back to NY and told Diddy and Biggie about it. At this time, 2Pac scrapped it from All Eyez On Me and scrapped his concept album "Thug Life Vol. 2: Still I Rise". Which "Hit Em Up" appeared as track 1 on that concept as well.
Faith telling Diddy and Biggie about the beat is why Bad Boy dropped the Get Money Remix with the same Dennis Edwards sample from "Don't Look Any Further" in February 1996. This is why 2Pac remade the song after that and added in lines "take money" which was a twist on "get money".
Faith is the reason those lyrics exist and the reason why the song got remade and released in a more potent manner. 2Pac scrapped the original. Dont get it twisted.
Also the 1995 version leaked after 2Pac was already dead. It had no factor in the beef other than having Faith knowing the sample.

2Pac was the villain. When you threaten spouses and kids in your song, you lost the plot. Not even just a mention, but a legit threat to them, bro you signing a death wish.

45:09 These are two different recordings. Keith Murray version has a different Biggie vocal take with slightly different lyrics. The 2nd version was recorded after Mary J. And her label decided not to use it. So for anyone saying Biggie already had the song done, sure. He had one verse done. Then they remade it once Pac got shot and issued it fully knowing the circumstances even though the beat was already used on Mary's album.
You can also tell the solo recording was done later as Biggie had to remove the Biggie Smalls mention in his original verse and change it to BIG after they got sued in 1994.

  • @DJSkandalous

57:24 this is debatable. Death Row put out Above The Rim and Murder Was The Case soundtracks in 1994. Both considered classic soundtracks. I wouldn't call that a fall off. But from a solo album perspective, yeah they were slow at dropping projects

Since Im sure this video will introduce a lot of people to the East vs West Coast beef, let me make it very clear; No, Biggie ve Pac was NOT the beginning of East vs West. It started well before them, but their situation got intertwined with other problems between both coasts that escalated the situation much further. I just want to make this clear to people, because many think this beef arbitrarily started ended with Pac and Big, and that's far from the case.

Which Thug Style got reworked into other concepts including R U Still Down which would split off into Me Against The World and Thug Life Vol. 1. Snoop and DPG heard the Thug Style drafts which is why that got changed. 2Pac references Biggie copying his album which would be the later iterations "R U Still Down", "Stay True" and "F*ck The World". "Mr Middle Finger" and "Troublesome" was also other 1994 concepts.
Also the songs and albums didnt get rejected due to lack of marketability. They got rejected due to the media and political pressure Time Warner faced with music depicting cop killing. Which 2Pac rapped about police on most of his records.

What a lot of people don't know is that Faith Evans went to California to write songs and sing hooks for money. She spoke about this in her book. Despite her first album doing well, she was not really getting paid by Bad Boy. Plus after her and Mary J Bligd recorded a song on her album, her and Mary fell out and Bad Boy had to re-release her album without the song with her and Mary's duet, which cost Faith a lot of money as well.

I'm not going to lie, this video doesn't provide any new info and blatantly copies multiple videos about the Pac and Biggie beef made by Hip-Hop Universe. It also provides some inaccuracies and doesn't cover a lot of events in the beef. You can't tell me half of this shit ain't even relevant either such as Eazy's little dispute with Pac, Dre and Pac's issues.
Let's also get this straight. While Whot Shot Ya, the ORIGINAL VERSION, was created before Pac got shot up, the 2ND VERSION was not. The second version included a second verse which was aimed at Pac and most notably Jay-Z at the time, because of DJ Clark Kent. The later part is a whole other story. This video saying Who Shot Ya was not about Pac, is not true and this is how misinformation gets spread.
