Emily's story about her professor's speech about being passionate about an elementary teacher and Connor yelling what her mind was saying at the time hits too close to home
The Positives of Peer Pressure w/ Emirichu I also like this mental image of Emirichu running home with her first UA-cam check like Charlie from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
You become doctor for status. You aren’t there to help people. That is the Asian way. Parents don’t care for you to know medicine as they will never take western medicine over old remedies.
The crazy thing is I actually remember a time in my high school life being obsessed with the song and her video but i only realized after hearing her talk about it that it was actually hers
Most adorable bit where she wasn't like dignifying the question and just continued i love it. Then Connor was just "you have 10 seconds to tell us" she's straight up AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO OKAY OKAY OKAY..
So storytime. I used to draw on MS paint way back in 2018 and I thought that drawing with a mouse was so difficult. I didn't really do it like "I want to be an artist" sort of thing, I just wanted to draw for fun. I didn't know if it was relaxing or stressful because a drawing would take me about 2/3 hours to finish. The last drawing I did was a flamingo back in March of 2021.
Connor is one of us. You can't tell me that he isn't Asian when his understanding of Asian parents and their disappointment echoes through reality. Let us celebrate the existence of our new yellow brethren.
I had the same awakening when I got into nursing, but I don't really have any talents so I just stuck with it lol I'm glad Emirichu's friend gave her that tablet, what a good friend
I love drawing too, but I have tourettes and one of the ticks that's spazzing out right now is the urge to tap the pencil tip on the paper regardless if I'm drawing or writing, and it botches my doodle with all kinds of dots, and I don't get anywhere with the drawing. So I'm currently cutting down on it until it does down after a couple weeks or months. I tell you, living with tourettes really, really sucks.
I understand people like preety or perfect looking art but have you considered leaving those botches and imperfections in there as part of the drawings, like some Basquiat inspired art. It could be part of your unique style. Just look up Jean-Michel Basquiat art
Its kinda crazy seeing Emirichu now - I remember stumbling across her videos back when it must have been at the early story time videos. That was back when she had lower amount of subs, never thought she would be at the stage shes at now and idk why cause shes great
I remember being there when that video came out!! I can somewhat safely say I'm an OG and I've been watching her growth, it's honestly been so long gosh haha
The first video that I watched from her channel was the one where she beat up some boys in her school for taking her sketchbook. And then she beat them up a second time that same day out of anger.
I went back to her channel to see her old videos and I saw the one school anamatic, I used to watch that when I was like in middle school? Maybe older? But I remember finding it and loving it, I didnt even notice till now that was her channel
Funny, I discovered Emirichu from a Vtuber who created her Vtuber model, I "kind of known" Connor back then (probably because I watch Joey & Garnt already), but I started watching him after that video with Daidus. The rabbit hole for UA-camrs and Vtubers is just weird and so different for a lot of people lol.
I independently discovered Emirichu, Ironmouse, Joey, Gigguk, and Calliope Mori over the course of several years. Then, over the course of around a week, I found out all of these people were friends with some random guy named Connor that I'd never heard of before. It was kind of trippy.
I feel like I would only watch vtubers if I am into what they do not them personally I think that's why I don't watch them because of the performance of some Like a youtuber like wolfychu when she turned into a vtuber wow was she trying
I started by watching anime UA-camrs (Connor, trash taste, etc) then I moved on to Vtubers (iron mouse, Hololive, niji, etc) and now they’re all collabing together it’s so nice being able to see my 2 favorite groups of people together having fun 🥹🥹
The thing with most Asian parents is that by the time you are born they already have a set future and what your career will be. But fortunately my parents wanted me to follow my dreams and I'm grateful for that
Saaamee, but that did impact me alot ever since and somehow felt grateful. Since drawing became a huge distraction (I cant help it lol) for me between my studies sometimes and to the point where I thought maybe I wanna be an artist as a job. I think keeping it as a side hobby is ALOT better for me instead of pursuing it as a career.
The thing is the not that I like you animation has 41 million views on someone else’s channel they just reposted it but Emily’s original video only has 4 million views💀
If it makes you feel better, they guy that posted it says he has permission from Emily to edit the video and she commented on it, so it seems like there’s no bad blood
0:42 Similiar speech is at the begining of medical school. It's like warning but you know that you are deep in that shit and you can't go back anymore. And every year you are deeper and deeper.
funny thing she could of monitized on her fist song from static p cuase he doest mind people monitizing on his music lol she could of made a good amount i think at that point
My parents told me to do engineering or they won’t help me get a degree, so my sister and I both became civil engineers, but we both had bad experiences in the industry so we just pivoted and we just work with concrete pavers. We at least use our degree for designing new products which is nice but, I wish I had studied music so now I am. I just feel that a child sometimes needs to find their own path and I will definitely allow my children to do what they want to do
Bruh. I remember watching that Static-P song when it first got uploaded lol. I was a fan of tsunderes at the time so ofc it showed up in my recommended lol.
"What is the song" said Connor calmly
Missed chance to write Monke Man instead of Connor
Ghjhdhsjaas
Lmao *live action scene* the bois jump over the table dog piling emiri screaming “song song song song song”
Did you put your song on the UA-cam of Fire?

emily's whole history was just people telling her to do something and her going like "Ok!" and it worked out in the end
Except the part of her becoming a teacher

my name is Forrest, Forrest Gump
I misread "emily's" as "emiya's'
@@eclipsewaves Isn't that the complete opposite most of time ?
People tell them to not do the thing and they go do the thing.
I first discovered Emirichu from her “First Burn” animatic from Hamilton. Her art has changed and grown so much since then.
I found her from the Moana vid 😂
@@m_artroom i rediscovered her from the Asian identity vid. And I was surprised to see that Emirichu made that Hamilton Moana animatic
ME TOO. I was in my Hamilton phase at that time
Same! And the bullies that took her sketchbook

Does anyone have the link to it 😭
FRR
Link plz
@@zenithchan1646 she finally did private that video sadly
It’s unlisted :,(( i did find a few other unlisted videos though
It’s so strange to hear Emily’s voice coming from an actual human

That brings back memories of how I discovered Emirichu, and the beginning of my anime phase.

Yup same haha

"if you can't do art just teach" As a teacher whose passion is art i FELT this
She should have become a art teacher
My parents said this to me too as if i enjoyed talking to people or have the capabilities to teach as a fresh grad
Emily's story about her professor's speech about being passionate about an elementary teacher and Connor yelling what her mind was saying at the time hits too close to home

Hey dude :D
How are you everywhere even now!? I won’t be surprised there’s a documentary about you.
Plot twist: Even when their kids become doctors, Asian parents STILL won't take their advice.
That's not a plot twist. That's reality and not even for asian kids.
You become doctor for status. You aren’t there to help people. That is the Asian way. Parents don’t care for you to know medicine as they will never take western medicine over old remedies.

@@ali_kazmi In case this is not part of the joke. He means Jeannie from MxR Plays and PotasticP on Twitch.

She already did ^^
imagine saying this back when that first dropped

"It's Not Like I Like You" was heavy on my playlist around the time the animatic came out.

There's a drawing technique called stippling where you draw with dots and it's really cool
I used to have really bad tourettes.
It suck but dont let it stop you from drawing or doing something you love. Just keep drawing.
