I saw Kirk tell an interviewer, years ago, one of his dreams was to jamm with Michael Schenker. It's nice when your dreams come true. The smile on Kirks face says it all.
I remember being a 13 year old kid and having my neighbor giving me UFO's Strangers In The Night because he heard I was taking guitar lessons. He said, everything you need to know is on this CD. He was right. I was a minority with my friends listening to Schenker. But he was my real guitar teacher. I absorb all I could and made it my own. I have never seen him live but seeing Kirk having a blast here make me smile. I am jealous.
Hah! Awesome. Kirk's like totally geeked on it. He's probably up on stage thinking back to when he was a teenager in high school listening to Strangers In The Night - and now he's jammin' Natural Thing with The Blond Bomber live. I mean, who wouldn't dig it? 😎
Metallica was always some kind of weird Thrash off beat thing. It goes with the territory I guess. I play Drums and I like this style. I do Love Metallica but Lars did kind of slow down over the years. Not Dave Lombardo some people are different I guess
You forgot to mention Herman Rarebell and Francouis Bucholz The Backbone of The Original Scorpions That was A very Epic Show and Night I should know I was there 🤘🤘🤘
Metallica plays miserable music.. only one vibe. Mike plays happy and sad, all emotions. So Kirk probably gets depressed locked into Metallicas one style. Plus Hetfield is so limited to only rhythm.. Mike plays everything..much more freedom for Kirk to play different things.
@@michaelcraig9449 only one vibe...you are an idiot and you have never listen tontheir whole catalogue. Don't make me bust out the math on what do they actually use per song.
@@michaelcraig9449 are you serious. James is not just limited to rhythm. You should listen to the whole freaking catalog before you comment. He does a lot of harmonies and solos
That bald guy who grabbed Kirk's guitar at the end is actually James Hetfields guitar-tech on the road. His name is Chad (can't remember his last name) .
Kirk is the Kid in the Candy Store here...Don´t get all the Hate, he´s been a massive Scorps Fan ever since and is really such a genuine nice Guy!! ;-)
Knowing about Schenker won me a trivia contest on one of those college stations(WSOU,Seton Hall radio station), a signed pick by the members of Mr Big(were new at the time) and backstage to a show at the Stone Pony I think it was, one of those places in Asbury Park..
You know at that moment there's no place on Earth Kirk would have rather been than right there. He looks like he's attending one of those week-long rock schools and he's playing alongside his idol and I suppose there's an element of truth to that since he's as much a fan of the mad axeman as the rest of us.🤘
I wonder why Mike switched to Dean V guitars from Gibson Flying Vs. I have not seen him play the Gibson V's lately. Does he still play them at all? Anyone know? I mean Dean is good, but players dont usually switch away from Gibson guitars.
The story I’m told is Schenkers Gibsons were stolen and at that time he was down on his luck. Dean provided him with some guitars and then gave him his own signature V. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
To the very day I wonder nobody ever mentioned Michael Schenker being one of the greatest rhythm guitar players in Rock. It`s only about lead guitar always, but thats only half of the Schenkers onion tart in my humble opinion.
It´s not easy to comment on this. It seems not that they were playing in a different league or on different stages. It seems that Michael is playing on a whole different planet. So you could say, that Michael in comparison is a better player, but that would mean absolutely nothing. Because Michael in itself is absolutely incomparable. He`s not foremost better or worse than Kirk or other players, he`s just not comparable. You could say if that makes any sense that he is playing in his own class being only in competition with himself.
The smile on Kirk's face says it all. To play with your lifetime Hero, what a Joy!
Love Kirk's smile, he's so genuine, Michael's awesome as usual, he's completely on another superior level, this man never ceases to amaze me!
I absolutely agree with you, a supernatural level
Simplemente más honesto con él y su publico que con el bissness.
I saw Kirk tell an interviewer, years ago, one of his dreams was to jamm with Michael Schenker. It's nice when your dreams come true. The smile on Kirks face says it all.
They all rocking it, love love love it, I like when Kirk smiling while rocking his guitar, lol
Kirk looks like a kid in the candy store. Absolutely loving it!
Hell yeah and Mike made kirks solos sound like a kids also.
No diss to Kirk his the reason I picked up the guitar 30 years ago.
must be crazy to plat with one of your heroes
I was lucky enough to have attended this gig!🤘
Kirk's dream come true, what a special moment in time.
yeah, he knows. I'd have the same goofy look on my face
thank you algorithm
Michael Schenker ist ein Genie auf dem Instrument. Wahrscheinlich der beste auf diesem Planeten. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Yeah, what a classic live album…I used to play that vinyl over and over again, along with Van Halen 1, Rainbow Rising etc. Never been bettered.
Underrated Rockstars...good auditorium🎉👏👌🫂
That's bad ass, kick ass Rock n roll in its purist forum. The key ingredient is the happiness & those enjoying their friends, musicians.
It is so Great to See Kirk, Michael and MSG having so much FUN playing some classics together!! 👍🎸👍🤩🤩🎵🎵🎼🎼
Kirk's smile is so infectious im smiling! his inner fanboy must've been living the dream :)
Wow, what a show. Everyone is so lucky to witness rock royalty. Shenker, Hammett, and great rock vocals.
Kirk did a solid job at trading licks with the master. I'm sure his heart was beating like a drum haha.
hello I'm from Malaysia, kirk is one of my favorite guitarists 🤘

Totally!!! Kirk is a true fan of Schenks!!
Hammet smiles, Schenker KING
Schenker naturaly gifted!
Putting in countless hours of study and practice and always respecting his craft, if that is what you call "natural" talent then sure.
Kirk seems so happy to play with his idol! Amazing!
Metallica was always some kind of weird Thrash off beat thing. It goes with the territory I guess. I play Drums and I like this style. I do Love Metallica but Lars did kind of slow down over the years. Not Dave Lombardo some people are different I guess
I've always had a soft spot for him. The fact that he's a genuinely nice guy really helps.
@@popwarner8029 Every band does sound 25 % better with Lombardo in it.
class, Schenker on fire, love Kirk too !
Kirk playing with a steady drummer is always a win.
Michael and Kirk ripping it up together! So cool you were able to see this live!
The Guys look truly Inspired as they should, theyve come thru this Journey in one piece...Thankful

Kirk Hammett is very happy, he plays free guitar with the legendary Michael Schenker, this is very good for him

These two slingers can seriously ROCK ❤️
I was there. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Rocks God's magic....... Wonderful video

I met Jason Newsted and he signed my bass at the stone pony, such an amazing venue !
Perfect music 💯
Ialthough I do understand the Celebrity status of having Kirk sit in, he looked like a Rook up there. Bit what an Honor and privilege for him!! WOW
Kirk getting a chance to remember what it's like to be an actual musician for a change instead of an employee of Metallica Inc.
Former Scorp Francis on bass, it's a reunion.
I thought that was him. Great catch.
What about Herman on drums..?
Herman Rarebell on drums
@@MichaelJordan-sw1fw😁 I see what you did there. Tokyo Tapes right up there with Strangers In The Night 🤘
That was amazing!
What a blast loved it
Title shoud be, Michael Shenker, Herman Rarebel, Francis Buchholz and Kirk Hammet
Yes! I was right! Thanks for confirming that Francis and Herman are there!
Aye the guy in the vest might have a future
Awesome 👌
Very exciting !!!!
Are you kidding me. Have you ever heard the original record , which is BREATHTAKING? This song requires Klaus Meine, no less.
this is gold

Must be nice playing with a guitar god
Guitarist from Shenker group played cool solo after 11.00. Don't know what his name
Wayne Findlay. Awesome player, been with Michael for years now. Plays all the keyboards too.
Kirk was doing a great job. He must have had a tremendous instructor.😃
*Satch*
kirk fucking shreds too
WOW ! Kirk left the wah-wah at home !
I just saw it at the end. Actually Schenker used one more as an EQ.
They both played amazing together schenkers tone sounds great but kirk played well he just enjoys a more dirty tone and i respect that.
Hammett just got a lesson from the master.
Melodic mayhem!
Sorry Its Shaky, I Was Rockin Baby...
Lol I was getting dizzy but I understand u were rockin! Love Michael! Kirk \m/
You Did GREAT!
Forgot For a Second I Was In My Living Room at 4:20 am Having BBQ And 🍻!!
To the very day I wonder nobody ever mentioned Michael Schenker being one of the greatest rhythm guitar players in Rock. It`s only about lead guitar always, but thats only half of the Schenkers onion tart in my humble opinion.
They should have had the masters guitar a bit louder in the mix.
Ive never heard Hammett play better. He definitely practiced Natural thing before the show.
Seriously!?
You mean Kirk Hammett WATCHES Michael Schenker rock the Rockbar.
Who's the other guy with long curl black hair with dean guitar beside francis buchholz please?!
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
You know, San Jose!
SCORPIONS,
FTW!!!!!!!
it sounds a lot like what they did on that metal show
Is that Doogie White....
Is he Francis Bucholz?😮
yes

lol....ya he did!!!
Or did you've seen him having that fun with his main band recently?
nope.....he was in seventh heaven right there!!! like a little boy.... running through the fields naked!!! so happy jack!!!
I thought it strange they would play Blackout...but I found it really strange hearing the 1st solo break, & neither 1 of them playing it
The rhythm/keyboard player took the solo
Wonder if James is Pissed that Kirk is doing stuff outside of Metallica, maybe he learned from Jason leaving.
Hammet playing on Exodus' album Blood in, blood out speaks for itself.
Probably yes!
Who played the Blackout solo when they were both playing rhythm?
The rhythm/ keyboard player
At first Kirk should get himself a decent guitar. (I heard he recently did, Pete Greens Les Paul. So this is a beginning.)
Kurt running the songs
Bruh the fart at the beginning of the video
DOOGIE WHITE ,- THE BEST ! 👍🎤🎤🎤🌈
Rockbar in San Jose?
Kirk forced to play thru real amps for a change.
Michael is so much more advanced in rhythm playing, look at his right hand, it's a metronome on it's own
Bullshit. Metallica has some of the most intricate fast rhythms in history and Kirk nails them with ease. Kirk is amazing
@@BobMarley-lq1yv he does, if you're hearing impaired
listen to shenders fucking tone wow ?
schenker has a bigger better sound , its awesome
San Jose...?
