Why Everyone Is Begging For This NEW Electric Motor Conversion Kit!

- Turns out a lot of people would be interested in driving EVs if there was a way to transform their trusty gas-guzzler into an eco-friendly machine, without breaking the bank? And this can now be done thanks to an amazing new invention. An Australian design student has created a solution that could be a game-changer. This isn't some pie-in-the-sky concept either - we're talking about a practical technology that could put the power of electric driving within reach of millions.
So, how exactly does this miniature marvel work? And what impact could it have on the widespread adoption of EVs?

Only works on April 1st
As an avid DIYer senior who owned a mechanic shop in the 80s; ... I have been dreaming of such a kit for at least the last 2 decades. I would love to see a dialed in, dependable kit I could install myself. More power to this guy's innovations.
I hope Koenigsegg doesn't rip this guy a new one for potentially even unknowingly copying Christian's raxial flux motor design.
Same Captain Bill. For the performance minded this could be another power adder. I have reached out to many companies over the years trying to find somebody that would over-the-counter hub motor kit a rear axle hub motor EV conversion for front wheel drive subcompact cars.

Appears to be good, efficient n affordable invention likely to become more popular all over the world soon.

Pay no attention to negative people they have a problem for every solution
Ichhhh!!!!! Those paper numbers will eventualy have a reality check when transferred to real life.
Yep. It’s a tough and limited retrofit.
Only problem is...
the battery.
It would be smarter to have a hybrid motor/generator/motor concept.
Basically a hub drive motor like on an ebike. Pretty smart idea to scale it up
How does regenerative braking stretch the range beyond the claimed range? I would imagine the claimed range is in ideal conditions, low speed and minimum losses such as braking.
Since it's both ev and gas couldn't you use the alternator to charge the battery to the ev while you use the gas engine
And who is everyone? Tell us!
I'll be watching for this intently and I just hope it comes out in my remaining lifetime. I have always wanted to do a conversion, but I'm getting too old to be able to do it myself. 😢😮😊
I could be totally wrong here, but Koenigsegg made the quark motor, or the raxial flux motor and patented the thing a long time ago. Which would suggest that either the kid is forced to stop altogether and pay significant fines, or is forced to work in conjunction with Koenigsegg on future products for little to no pay.
instead of paying $3.2k what i prefer is a fully built quadricycle/trike fully enclosed + climate control for say $7k? 50kw motor with a 15kwh pack could really work good for these ultra-light vehicles IMHO...
Aptera is a 3 wheeled, electric (base model 250 miles) solar panel charging as well (base is 17 miles a day) Full solar package is $900 but that’s for up to 40 miles a day. Starts at $26,900 check them out, they have 46,000 preorders.
Is missleading. batteries, A/C, power steering and vacuum are also needed when making a conversion. $3200. Thats laughable!
0:40 clip used in other tabloid
Exclent hope it is marketed properly mass production will bring improvements and price down
Very interesting i always wanted to take older cars and refurbish them with electric of course and this might be the thing that could make this possible .
😂 we are waiting 😂
Have you never heard of the "rustbelt"?
I could be wrong but if this gets big enough with that motor design, I feel like it could be attacked by Koenigsegg for copyright infringement.
Google raxial flux motor.
Make for explorer st
I wonder if this would work on a Stern drive boat
Nah, an electric car can now be purchased for less than the average transaction price of a gas car, $48k.
Genius😊
Why replace the components when you can just replace the whole car. What a load of BS. A motor that can't reverse????? All electric motors can reverse.
For that particular design, it may not be that simple. Got to think about how a kid is managing this at all, with his architecture it may be hard to get the electrical phases to work backwards, or it's also possible that he did in fact get a reverse phase to work, but it would only go like 60mph or something and was super dangerous.
And perhaps it would be easier for the less fortunate to wedge $3200 into their budget as opposed to even the cheapest new EV for somewhere around 10 times that.
And your insurance will be ratcheted up beyond belief, to match the ‘electric’ word that now applies to your vehicle. This, may happen for enthusiasts, but I am skeptical unfortunately. Best of luck, I just don’t think it’s economically feasible. What would be much better, is an electric car kit, where you have your donor car, and anything to do with the ICE is discarded? I dunno, you;re still doing lots of work, and have a massive insurance change.
I'm not everyone...
Existing cars can't handle the batteries.
I wish there was a way to have the gas engine recharge the battery that way I don’t have to plug it in everyday
They already do!
Depends on your daily mileage. The 3 wheeled Aptera has solar cells that can give you up to 40 miles a day sitting in the parking lot while you work. You can also plug it in. The base model is $26,900 (17miles charging) The Launch Edition is a All wheel drive and 600mile range ($34,000)
Look up Edison motors.
Phooey!
Listen to the no-can-do naysayers, the problem with this world.
Petrol and diesel engines hybrid??
Probably too heavy. Probably won't pass emissions. Definitely too expensive. But it would be badass for sure.
EV are not catching on, they are not wanted and they are not green.
I mean I want them, but I don't give half a fuck if it's green or not, you got that right. And I'd rather not have them at all as opposed to having them replace the ICE.
Sure.....everything would be wonderful with.....everythng electric.....no it would not. The battery range and life isn't there yet. Also, the electrical grid is not ready yet. Unless some new battery technology comes along that is cheap, we still have to get some of the raw earth elements from China. That means increased production in diesel trucks putting more CO2 in the air that the climate clowns want to get rid of. Even now, companies are stating how "electric" vehicles are flying off the shelf.
Another lie because they are not selling and big automakers are cutting their production.
LOL
Too much talking! No substance. Typical mistrusted/used car salesman voice. No one is begging for it, maybe a few weekend DIY guys. Forfeit your car warranty. Pay more insurance. Unproven mechanical solution. Low-quality DIY type of battery. Fire risk. A solution that creates more problems for the owner. in Short, DOA.
