Ahh thanks for this highlight on features that we haven't heard about in awhile, it was a great refresher. I am sooo excited for Paralives. As someone who almost exclusively plays occults in the Sims, I really hope they decide to do a Supernatural optional add on in the future, but the game looks so good and detailed that whether they add them or not won't affect how much I play I think haha.
Correct you can build on the edge of the lot, so stuff like townhomes that require the buildings to touch are a thing. There's a updated version of the iconic paralives dog in the new art style, but only Patreon members can see it at this time.
Paralives are dropping updates every week got me excited every time! I'm pretty sure features they "forgot" maybe included after or during early access. With updates and new content will be free later after the base game launch, I don't mind waiting for pets or houseboats hehe
the house boats are still in the roadmap under "during early access release"! i feel like they haven't worked on pets much yet, generally speaking things that will be added after/during early access have been on hold from what i understand so i think there probably isn't much to update yet on that front i think occults would be a really fun addition at some point but definitely not something i need or expect in paralives something i'm really curious about, and that i had forgotten was coming until recently, is what lore they'll come up with. we got some with sebastian but that's just one para. and i think his story was really interesting so i have high hopes for the rest of the town. i hope they will plan it in a way that lets you actually discover new parts of the lore and new connections between people as you play but i'm not sure how that would work in paralives. they could definitely do some fun things with family trees and relationship types (like in the gameplay trailer when we could see that the two lovebirds were actually classmates before) and maybe even the memory system? basically i'm looking forward to seeing the team's creativity and personality come out in the game! the amount of personality in paralives' art style and features so far is what makes the game stand out to me. imo you can tell this is a passion project and not just another way to make money for a big company. i really have full faith in the team and their decisions oh right something else i had forgotten about for a while is that we'll be able to set sexual orientations and preferences! as fun as it is to play in a world where everyone seems to be pan (the sims 4), for storytelling purposes as well as realism this is gonna be great!
Yep i mean paranormal stuff is something i expect in a expansion pack and I have no problem whit expansion packs. What i and i guess many others have a problem with is the quality and content and price of the pack.
i had NO idea about houseboats omg. i've never played with them in sims 3 cuz of how buggy they were but i always wanted to, i'm so excited to see how they're implemented in paralives
I did forget about boats and houseboats - and that they already showed a dog way back when. And I'm pretty much in full agreement on all your opinions stated in this video. The procedural animations in particular have been exciting me since their announcement alongside sliders.
I love and adore supernaturals in The Sims (Especially Sims 2's aliens, but... Preferences are personal) and I do not care if Paralives has them added or not, or even if they never come. Would I enjoy them? Yes. Do I need them to be present? No. The Sims without even ghosts feels wrong to me. But Paralives _isn't_ The Sims and as such the base assumptions of what the world needs and doesn't need is entirely up for grabs. And there are some elements that The Sims is lacking in that I'd like to see before I see ghosts, aliens, and werewolves. (Being able to have kids go camping, either with friends or with a scouts equivalent, or to summer camp for a couple of weeks - even just as a rabbit hole that lasts 36 hours and has some random events attached to it - for example). Better integration of higher education and the rest of the world when it comes to temporal synchronicity (i.e. if a parafolk goes to uni for 8 weeks game time, the rest of the world should have progressed by 8 weeks when they get back, meaning I should be able to play through those 8 weeks with other members of their household rather than the weird 'time is paused while they're there' of The Sims). That sort of thing feels more... Important... for a new Life Sim than ghosts, etc, to me, as someone who likes there being supernatural elements in The Sims.
I can't wait for this game! please come out and don't get cancelled like LBY 😭 I'm traumatized cats are the best! They have their character that is totally different, they not boring and can get so adorable!
