i'm mostly not affected by the uncanny valley, i don't find inZOI uncanny, i just don't really like the realistic feel most games have nowadays, which includes inZOI (and no, i don't play any realistic games). also it would probably be too much for my pc lol. i'm glad people have connected with this game tho

InZOI models look good,it's just the lack of facial animations in create a character scene that adds creepiness,I hope they adress that.

I disagree. Paralives will be a cozy game and get a lot of the sims 4 fans to leave the sims. The sims is constantly broken, Even without mods. If paralives can get features of the sims 4 most popular mods. People will leave the sims 4. If not, It will be played a lot cause the sims is constantly broken with 900 patches. InZIO will replace the sims.

I don't know if it's because I play other games like bg3, red dead or Cyberpunk but when I hear sims players complaining about the look of inzoi I can't understand because it looks like any another game I played that adds "realistic" feel to it

I feel like the main issue is the movement, I love the sims and this looks beautiful but their expressions and movements feel uncanny

I'm still not completely sold on gameplay but when it comes to looks I personally love the look of InZoi. I don't think it's uncanny at all. I've never understood people saying Sims 3, LbY, and InZoi look uncanny but then again Sims 3 sims were my favorite ones in looks and personality and it's hard to creep me out with any video game, TV show, or movie so 🤷🏾‍♀️

Inzoi's graphics are not "uncanny" as much as some Sims 4 fans claim to be. If anything it is close to GTA or other games that have motion capture characters. As for the art style, my take is Inzoi's vibe is giving a sense of utopia, a little too perfect, but still believable, or something out of a movie set. So it is not all that bad of a style to go to.

Honestly, i am not that zoomed in While playing. Watching gameplay when people were playing wasn’t that different from watching Sims. The zoom in on the face and this semi human face freezing is weird, but the playing doesn’t bother me.

the worst for me is how their eyes seems dead in the gameplay mode 😂 I KNOW they are not humans, but I think is very creepy. The create a zoi mode is ok, but the gameplay... 🥲 I prefer cartoon animation for games, but thats totally personal and never stoped me playing some games

well to be honest: I liked the game until I noticed that inzoi won't get released. I think the game would have been mind blowing, if the game was going to be realesed but as I stand now my money is on the cancellation of the game

ok you clocked it!! i’m not an Inzoi fan for other reasons lol but i never understood people complaining about the graphics. most AAA games these days have realistic graphics but i guess a lot of sims 4 fans aren’t aware of that 🤷‍♂️

The thing with "uncanny valley" is that it's all very subjective. Life by You gave me intense uncanny valley, inZOI not so much. It might just be because I'm already used to this type of graphics, lots of games nowadays (especially the ones made in Unreal Engine) use a similar art style but people are acting like Krafton invented it or something. The only thing about inZOI that was giving me the uncanny ick was when people were using the facial recognition and you could see the inZOI mimicking the person's facial movements. I think some people might wrongly be using "uncanny" instead of "hyper realistic" simply because they just see everyone else using that word and don't really know what it means. I also think some people are tossing it around as a derogatory term to throw at games they don't personally like.

I mean I have some mental disorders of my own but I do get the uncanny valley vibe from things just slightly off of looking completely human, and the inzoi characters don't give me that vibe. Only exception being those clips of what I'm assuming is some motion-captured face cam animation being used? But even then it wasn't noticeable until it was pointed out in that way to me.

They're an indy studio. They are working with an indy budget, but they're working with an indy budget with no shareholders to please. They don't really need to add dlc to break even.

Inzoi for me is the biggest one im looking forward too. But i will play paralives also and vivaland the more the better! Just not sure if i will like the cartoon style too much i like realism more.❤

Comparison makes sense. Sims is the only life sim to reference. Just like you can compare 2 different shooting games to each other

I love and adore supernaturals in The Sims (Especially Sims 2's aliens, but... Preferences are personal) and I do not care if Paralives has them added or not, or even if they never come. Would I enjoy them? Yes. Do I need them to be present? No. The Sims without even ghosts feels wrong to me. But Paralives _isn't_ The Sims and as such the base assumptions of what the world needs and doesn't need is entirely up for grabs. And there are some elements that The Sims is lacking in that I'd like to see before I see ghosts, aliens, and werewolves. (Being able to have kids go camping, either with friends or with a scouts equivalent, or to summer camp for a couple of weeks - even just as a rabbit hole that lasts 36 hours and has some random events attached to it - for example). Better integration of higher education and the rest of the world when it comes to temporal synchronicity (i.e. if a parafolk goes to uni for 8 weeks game time, the rest of the world should have progressed by 8 weeks when they get back, meaning I should be able to play through those 8 weeks with other members of their household rather than the weird 'time is paused while they're there' of The Sims). That sort of thing feels more... Important... for a new Life Sim than ghosts, etc, to me, as someone who likes there being supernatural elements in The Sims.

to me the sims community just become the same as a cult. you are not allowed to disagree with this community or have any different opinion that is too different from this community. and if you dare have it, well too bad for you, you will get cancel or be threaten and or people curse you very bad things. that how much fuck up this community become honestly and it toxic for young people to be in. I truly believe in the freedom of speech and have a different opinion, and I do believe in healthy discussion. but that's the thing, many people in this community just can't have healthy discussion anymore if they don't 100% have the same opinion as them, they don't know how to make a discussion. so it better just to not be in this community as fast as possible.

the house boats are still in the roadmap under "during early access release"! i feel like they haven't worked on pets much yet, generally speaking things that will be added after/during early access have been on hold from what i understand so i think there probably isn't much to update yet on that front i think occults would be a really fun addition at some point but definitely not something i need or expect in paralives something i'm really curious about, and that i had forgotten was coming until recently, is what lore they'll come up with. we got some with sebastian but that's just one para. and i think his story was really interesting so i have high hopes for the rest of the town. i hope they will plan it in a way that lets you actually discover new parts of the lore and new connections between people as you play but i'm not sure how that would work in paralives. they could definitely do some fun things with family trees and relationship types (like in the gameplay trailer when we could see that the two lovebirds were actually classmates before) and maybe even the memory system? basically i'm looking forward to seeing the team's creativity and personality come out in the game! the amount of personality in paralives' art style and features so far is what makes the game stand out to me. imo you can tell this is a passion project and not just another way to make money for a big company. i really have full faith in the team and their decisions oh right something else i had forgotten about for a while is that we'll be able to set sexual orientations and preferences! as fun as it is to play in a world where everyone seems to be pan (the sims 4), for storytelling purposes as well as realism this is gonna be great!

I can't wait for this game! please come out and don't get cancelled like LBY 😭 I'm traumatized cats are the best! They have their character that is totally different, they not boring and can get so adorable!

Ahh thanks for this highlight on features that we haven't heard about in awhile, it was a great refresher. I am sooo excited for Paralives. As someone who almost exclusively plays occults in the Sims, I really hope they decide to do a Supernatural optional add on in the future, but the game looks so good and detailed that whether they add them or not won't affect how much I play I think haha.

Paralives are dropping updates every week got me excited every time! I'm pretty sure features they "forgot" maybe included after or during early access. With updates and new content will be free later after the base game launch, I don't mind waiting for pets or houseboats hehe

I did forget about boats and houseboats - and that they already showed a dog way back when. And I'm pretty much in full agreement on all your opinions stated in this video. The procedural animations in particular have been exciting me since their announcement alongside sliders.

I am finished buying anything EA, I have been playing Sims for 20 of their 25 years. I bought everything Sims 3 and I own 71 DLC packs of the 80+ available for Sims 4. EA is not very smart, my adult son bought me a gaming PC for my 59th bday, I am retired with disposable income, who wants it ?

Correct you can build on the edge of the lot, so stuff like townhomes that require the buildings to touch are a thing. There's a updated version of the iconic paralives dog in the new art style, but only Patreon members can see it at this time.

I extended my sims pregnancy to be more realistic by pausing it using MC Command Center. Sure took me a long time to figure it out!

I'm interested in Paralives, sort of. The only thing I don't like, so far, are the avatars who all look like they have rosacea. I would like to see better skins for the avatars. Otherwise, it looks interesting.

I agree with every word that came out of your mouth, you’re a breath of fresh air. I’m so sick of these kids running around the sims community trying to gaslight everyone else into thinking what’s going on is okay or normal. Newer simmers may be happy with the bare minimum 4 has given us but those of us who fell in love with the sims in the 2000s just aren’t falling for it. Here’s to some healthy competition incoming!

I've been thinking about switching to Sims 4 because I love building and CAS but I LOVE gameplay too! And I think Sims 3 can be beautiful with the right mods. Your video made me feel less like I need to switch just because of graphics. Nice video!

I think it's possible that they did the math, the Sims 4 might be underperforming, this is not to say it isn't doing great, but it is very likely not performing as well as they want (cost vs profit) so are looking at ways to get stronger gains. Of course, it isn't like EA hasn't shot themselves in the foot before, but that could also be what's behind them not choosing to develop something akin to a Sims5, instead they could focus on something safer with less output and more gains for their effort/cost. Note: I still think they are trying to cash in on what makes platforms like Roblox successful, but would not be surprised if they mostly miss that mark. I'm not seeing any hints so far that they will come close to cornering that market at all. But, since I am not into mobile games and they totally copped out with the whole "We are continuing with the Sims 4 for you" crap (it's actually more about less output for gain) I've been increasingly looking forward to Paralives, and if more get developed in the future, yay Intro: I was in my young adulthood when it first came out and have them trying hard, particularly with Sims 4, to make it more appealing to the younger generation but instead just made it more boring and, in some instances **cringe**... I still shake my head when I send my sims to the nearest toilet only to have my only option being to "angry poop"

Apples to oranges. The Sims 4 is ten years old, and has tons of DLC, and possibly 10 more years expected. Compare them in 10 years.

Best video on this new project rene thing. I know a lot of fans are disappointed but I felt relief hearing the news. Not because i think inzoi or paralives will have any trouble carving their own space with sims 5 around; cause it meant I could free myself from caring about the sims😂 I am looking forward to mysims tho.

Paralives looks like a hyped up mobile game. I don’t see it being something people go back to in the long run. Unless it’s for building mode, the gameplay looks pretty mediocre imo.

I agree. It's time for EA to focus on the mobile market. That's their strength.
