    Also a criminal defense attorney. This is just so _noble_ . I really admire Attorney Steele for sticking to his guns here, even if it means getting thrown in jail.
    It would be extremely hard to not just give up the name. Getting thrown in jail for blatantly disobeying a judge is something that can jeopardize your entire career, everything you've worked for. And so it's a pretty effective strong-arm tactic. It's between a rock and a hard place -- disobey the court, or potentially break your responsibility to keep privilege. Ethically, Attorney Steele's responsibility is ultimately to his client and he kept it. He is a model for us all.

      Its not that it wasn't he couldn't as ex parte is allowed and he did one with the defense lawyer before (said it at the start of the video). However he was dead wrong with how they did it (as the prosecutor is also to blame). Should have told the defense lawyer it was going to happen in a meeting in the chambers and let him have his say. Now there is a very real possibility that the judge will be sanctioned in some way and a mistrial to happen and this has to start all over again (maybe double jeporady could apply) with the defendant more then likely been released. Could have been all sorted with a simple conversation

      The witness said hed plead the 5th on stand... Then the prosecution and judge had a meeting behind closed doors... And suddenly after that meeting the witness then decided to not plead the 5 th and actually testify.... And mr Steele has said he thinks the witness was given a print out by the judge of the penalty the judge could send him to jail for and how he'd keep him in jail for years untill even other people cases went to court... And supposedly the prosecution also told the witness they didn't care if he lied on stand about things as long as it wasn't about one particular murder... Totally outrageous if all true. And clearly it's witness intimidation and tampering by not only the judge but prosecution as well. Especially due to him already being sworn in on stand. Then to not even notify the defense of a secret meeting... And they wouldn't have known it seems if someone didn't leak it to them.but the judge was more worried about who told the defense vs the actual reason or at least explain to the defense why you had to have this meeting.. It's currently under appeal and any reasonable other judge should rule in favor of that motion and this judge should be removed from this case at a minimum and honestly this is enough for a mistral.

      The problem is that the judge immediately admitted by asking who gave the info but then back peddled saying there was no convo and he was holding court for a warrant less threat
      And steal said if it had no value then say it didn’t happen and we will strike it but the judge knows he can’t lie and say it didn’t happen because the judge doesn’t know exactly the full context of what steel had so

The Lawyer works for the cliente, but his real professional and deontological duty, is to the law. And a lot of Lawyers forget that. He didn’t stop responding to the judge, precisely because he wanted to everyone see how this Judge was using the law, and not serving the law. It’s disgusting.

    • @charlineWHITE-th9fo
      @charlineWHITE-th9fo 17 днів тому +11

      @@VonJayI did. Generally, ex parte communications are prohibited because they can influence the judge's decision. They also threaten the legal principle that all parties must be given an opportunity to be heard on all matters related to the case. Any private communication between a judge and a lawyer who has a case pending before the judge is presumed to have been about the pending lawsuit.
      It appears that Steel/Merchant/Adams/etc are correct in their position. It gives the impression of impropriety.
      All these attorneys and this organization with just as much experience as the judge are not wrong. The biggest issue is his attitude about it all.

      I get there were a lot of defendants, but how does jury selection take 10 months? Trump, former president and currently running, got his jury selection done in what? A week? Less? I don’t remember but you’d think it’d be tough to find impartial jurors for that.
      Again I know there were a lot of defendants but come on lol, it’s not like any of them are famous beside Thug/Gunna, and they’re nowhere near as famous as Trump. It just seems insane to me for it to take THAT long. The Trump trial had 500 potential jurors that were evaluated, and 96 made it in to the courtroom. It took like 2-3 days to go from 500 to like 40. I did a quick search and it seems like it took under a week to find 12 jurors and 6 alternates.
      If they can get a jury of 12+, with alternates, for a case of a President in a week or less…HOW can something like this take 10 months! I just truly don’t get it. Thug has been sitting in jail for just over 2 years at this point with no conviction. That’s messed up. What happened to a speedy trial? This case is such a mess. I can’t fathom being on the jury for a case that’s probably going to go on for like 2 years. That sounds so miserable
