How do I set up to send you some boots I'm more than happy to pay shipping I have a pair of redwings with the boa system I love them but I've walked holes in the seams where the sole and the boot meet and it could use better insoles and tread I walked 7 plus miles a day minimum for a year in them and I just don't feel I've gotten my 260 out of them yet

There was an old Italian man in my neighborhood who did this work, he had old but reliable tools, he was very respected in our community. He even had a small area in his shop where other elders in the community gathered to sit and talk. He had a little bird cage also there. He would repair our old work boots. I'm so glad to see someone carry this on!! GOD BLESS!! I just subscribed!
As an iron worker myself, I can appreciate quality boots and boot repair/maintenance. My biggest complaint with boots is breaking in new ones so having the ability to keep the same pair and have quality repairs done for a more than fair price, you offer a top tier service.
Get yourself a pair of Drew’s Boots, the leather is so thick it makes Redwings from their prime look like fashion leather. Break in surprisingly quick though. I’ve got 12k miles of hard rucking + welding +grinding + salvage work on a boat in Alaska and they look like they could have been made a week ago.
I rotate new and old until the new ones are broke in. One day my new ones did save my ankle from more injury and the old broke in ones would have folded.
Ankle support and a bit of a heel are total game changers. When I was active duty I’d ditch the issue boots immediately for a custom pair of Pacific Northwest boots and I never developed knee back or hip issues like so many of my guys.

People who sit at a desk all day or in fancy clothes and go from sales client to client don't realize how much a comfortable pair of boots it. Most don't care how bad they look if there waterproof or comfortable or have grip they like them
100% agree when I have to get new boots and I mean have to the old ones are basically dust and the new ones take like a month to start getting comfortable

$60 for that is very much worth it. The quality put into this is damn good and honestly displays you are genuine with you’re work and aren’t like some companies that make people pay an organ for something not even close to the equivalent of the cost.

Leather is a by product of meat production. Animals aren't killed specifically for their hides. A raw skin dirent from the slaughterhouse costs $25. It's the tanning process that makes it valuable. I love reusing and repairing, but it doesn't save a cow.
My father was a pipefitter for like 40 years. Every day since i can remember he would go to work and come home. He used to be very particular about his boots. He would have them repaired until they just couldn't hold up any more. When i waz 19 i enlisted in the marine corps as an infantryman. I learned the value of perfect fitting boots after watching my dad growing up. I would pay more than 60 for my combat boots to be repaired. And my dad would do the same!

Brother I’d pay $100 for a service like that and still feel like I walked away with a deal if a lifetime. As someone who worked construction and is currently still in the trades you have no idea how true the statement is of molding a leather boot to your feet and not wanting to part with it. Breaking in new boots would take me a couple of weeks at best but it’ll be months before they feel my old pair would. Keep doing the work that you’re doing man! When I was younger, I work for many years as a 4th generation Shoemaker. My father learned the trade from his father and his father's father over in Italy and came to this country at 25 years old. You have a very nice touch, a lot of skill and talent.
Charge more. Let's say it took 2 hours from start to finish: that's about $40,000 a year at $20 an hour. YOUR SKILL IS WORTH MORE THAN $20 AN HOUR. Doesn't include the materials, electricity you used to power your tools, portion of replacement cost for your tools, and so many other things (health insurance, retirement savings)

Your prices are phenomenal. I don’t know how you stay in business. There was a shoe/boot repair place where I grew up. I used to ride my bike over there on the weekend and he would let me watch him work. Way more talent than most.
