Aren't they gonna cover the iPhones? GSMArena couldn't care less about the top notch trendsetters. And here we go, an xperia XZ3 review. i am loving this... This is GREAT.
they don't cover launch events generally. I guess when they will get the units, then will make a hands-on and later, a full review.
i am actually quite relieved to see at least one channel which is not running behind those overrated (over priced obviously), 'top notch' apples.(if you are an apple fanboy i know i am gonna regret for typing this comment.)

You call the Sony Xperia as new kid ?! No man, It's infact the Grand dad of all these super crisp displays, stereo speakers (remember the walkman series?!), Ultrapixel cameras & of course, first ip certified water resistance... But sadly somewhere along, they lost their way 🤐🤔

I've been using Sony phones since the Z1 Premium came out and they are hands down the best phones out there and the amount of times i have dropped them and not even a crack, currently using a XZ1 Premium and will be definitely upgrading to this new phone when the premium version comes out.
like always, a great review! XZ3 looks like a good smartphone, what I like the most on Sony devices is build quality!
I have Sony XZ Premium and also LG V30+. In my humble opinion, listening music using bluetooth from XZ Premium as good as or even better than using 3 mm jack in V30+. It's louder, stronger in bass but not loss the detail and clarity. I use MDR-XB50BS for XZ Premium n B&O H3 for V30+ for the comparison. Maybe in term of clarity V30+ slightly better.
But if using WH-H800 than XZ Premium is better. LDAC Sony is really shine
I'm not sure about getting other brands because my hi-res ldac Bluetooth headphones work amazingly with DSEE-HX. Will it make much of a difference if I switched?
Oh, boy! You got some fancy toys in your pocket. An MDR-XB50BS to be paired with XZ Premium, and a B&O H3 for another phone. Your life must be amusing....
sony provided LDAC authorization to Google so any android running 8.0+ should have it too. Try in dev setting and change it to LDAC

Why Sony phones are underrated like lg phones ?
Because company's like apple and samshit have a lot of money and they pay gsmarena and other's to make good reviews of their phones and bad of all other's I really think that Sony xz3 is perfect phone
I believe because they don't understand the technology advantages they offer.... ;) smart people choose sony or LG because these companies try and do best on all aspects... While Samsung focus on screen and buys short term wow customers... ;) and they buy it.. But my girlfriend went from Samsung galaxy s5 to Sony xa ultra with 6"lcd screen and trust me my xz premium doesn't beat that screen. Side to side 6" screen on xz ultra feels like you touching screen on the sides.... And video watching experience is also wow.... Very big and nice screen.

I can give you several reasons. On the xz premium they disabled the fingerprint sensor for the U.S. model. Second, after I rooted my xz premium, the camera was disabled with nothing but a green screen showing in pics. If you unlock the bootloader, they disable your camera. What kind of screwed-up control freaks does this? It's reasons like this that people scream & run from Sony.
I commend sony for almost always putting front-firing stereo speakers. I don't understand why other companies don't do this. But i don't like the curved edge display though. I hate the reflections that get on the sides of the display.
xRROD the front speaker is really good, not loud but sound better than any phone... Here I use z5c think the sound better than iphone 7 (which the only phone I can compare on my place)
seriously!? why everybody complain about the placement of the fingerprint scanner. NOW try to type something on your phone single handedly, and look where your index finger are. It makes your little finger support the bottom of your phone. this fps placement is the most ergonomic if you really think about it wisely

i definitely agree too.. same as the volume rocker button when it was at the bottom if u were on a call ur thump could increase or decrease call volume without shifting your hand was excellent.. two handed was a different story.. people complained and they changed it.. i thought the fringer print reader on the side was brilliant but people complained now it's at the back.. still more complaining..
Nah bro. When you pick the phone up thats the time when people normally unlock the phone. So having the sensor so low doesn't make sense since your index finger would not land so low when you pick up a phone. Plus maybe its just me but when i type on my phone single handedly my index finger does not rest on the middle of the phone.(using a v20)
It's just something for individuals to nitpick on, as if the human brain can't get used to change...a slight change at that, with a lower scanner.
But I get it...if enough people complain about the scanner being too low, Sony may pull a Samsung and move it.

How is your phone bro? Some reviews say that the xz3 overheat after a couple minutes of video call or playing games that requires internet. Is that true?

It's amazing how Sony Xperia has been making the best SMARTPHONES in the last few years !!! Even in numbers, Xperias may seem smaller by having only one camera and less Mega Pixel but the superiodade of the image that is real rather than images washed by post processing!
The colors, contrasts, sharpness, brilliance, quality and details of the Xperia images surpass with a large scale the competitors!

I prefer the design of XZ1, sharp edges, straight lines, and aluminum body. I don't like soap-like curvy phones.

But you are in the minority my friend. Sony has had to change its design or risk losing sales to the point of closing its mobile division. You may like the classic Sony design, but the general mainstream will prefer the XZ3 style because that is where the design trends have gone.

I have Xz2 and much better than S10 plus and 12 pro max especialy the battery and speed.
Sony phones user since 2005. Great phones.
I know having deep blacks feels premium but that's the color we see the less when using the phone, The Galaxy and their Amoled displays used to have sexy blacks but yellowish tint on whites, now this Xperia is rocking a OLED display that's amazing.

Like usual from a Sony user and fan, nice good move oled by jdi, but and as I said about xz2 and xz2p, we neeeeeeed bigger battery capacity, 3,5 mm jack !!!!!, better fp emplacement, the dual camera sensors and of course nice headphones, also good price. Then u will rule the market again !
Try to listen to consumers, learn to listen to consumers, that what others brand do !
since i use the xz2..the best way to use dynamic vibration is with earphone..u can feel every bass the phone does base on the song u play..

Its obvious that you wont get color accuracy with the Triluminos and SuperVivid profile.
Do you get color accuracy with Adaptive profile on the S9+?
NO!.
If you want color accuracy use the professional mode and remember that in Xperia phone the White Balance is independent, so choose Warm and sRGB mode.
Ok for us regular dudes who have to wait until the 5th of October to look and feel the phone in question. I was at Carphone Warehouse in Leeds and I am friends with the Sony Ambassador there. I actually HAD A DEMO of the phone and had a quick play with it-in person, as the ambassadors always get it before anyone else. WOW WOWOW is all I can say, the phone is beautiful, the bezels are THIN and that is an understatement, it feels fast and that RED colour scheme ooooooooooooh my gods! The side sense that most reviewers are saying is a hit and miss affair is NOT the case at all. It worked every time with me as the key is to tap the side of the glass and not the metal body. The colours are punchy at default however I advised the rep to put it to professional mode which is the most realistic and the phone display was even better. She showed a 4K HDR DEMO on her phone and i did the same one on MY 4K HDR xz premium. I will say this, her's looked MUCH better! The awkward placement of the fingerprint scanner can be learned within a few mins. Let me return to the looks- It is as sexy as hell and any video you see on the net DOES NOT do this phone justice-when you see it in person, as it is BETTER looking than the Samsung s9 and the s9+ and I WOULD say the screen is BETTER (cannot compare to note 9 as they did not have that) Camera app is quick as a flash (pardon the pun) and the phone was faster than an 'Ice-skating Mongoose being chased by a frisky lion on the plains of the Serengeti! The shape of the phone was so damn sexy that if one compared it to the shape of a woman then it would be like DARLENE Ortiz in her hay-day that is from ICE-T's POWER album! Dark, powerful, sexy and full of class..what a phone and I was instantly smitten! My love and passion for Sony Mobile has been rekindled... BUY BUY BUY! Lastly on a personal note, I can see why Samsung fans troll reviews of this phone, as it is actually has a MUCH better screen than the S9+
Was trying to use a Oneplus One as long as possible, and last week it finally died. Decided to get a new phone again after all these years, and not regretting it. This phone is a pleasant surprise! I do agree with some of the gripes, somewhat, the fingerprint scanner is not too badly placed, but in the beginning I did touch the camera lens by accident. I registered my index-, middle fingers and thumbs so I can use which ever is closest to it. I think Sony did really well on this one.

I have the XZ Premium and nothing Sony has produced since catches my attention. I was thinking of the XZ2 P but it's so much money and there's no headphone jack. The only real upgrade with it is chipset and wireless charging, and HDR video recording. I don't mind the new design language, but can we all agree that screen corners should not be cut off if there is room for them? it looks really silly when there is a 5mm black bar at the top and bottom with plenty of room for a full rectangular display.
I’m so waiting for a real world usage of these high end phones. Something to really justify the price of these phones. Animoji is something barely used but a grand for a phone that somewhat undelivered on the justifying its price tag. Sony Xperia xz3 is actually very good and quite sexy looking. It attracts you to use it , lol

Actually using a XZ and a MDR-1000X
Screen is good, battery goes well with battery Care, performances are still ok, sometimes it lags really hard and it gets really hot but only once a week, the sound is just amazing and the 23Mpx is very cool on daylight (only..sadly) but i still take pictures with it for my Instagram (cjneall, in case you wanna check how well they are), i even filmed an entire short movie with it in 4k! The only thing I can't take anymore is the Omnibalance design, it's beautiful but DAMN i get cramps everytime.. Can't wait to see what I'll be able to do with this XZ3, obviously more that I can do with my actual Big Bezel Machine
Edit: I also have the Sony SmartWatch 3, don't buy it!! I payed €50 for a new bracelet since i broke mine, and it's not updated anymore. But still a nice watch and GPS
xz3 has best display in the market,that single main camera is dope inspite of its not so great hardware

And with that bezels in 2018 I would be ashamed. There are reasons sony has fallen a lot. Also 9.9 mm thickness....just lol
My xz premium phone died on me, wouldn't turn on or charge. It was fine, nothing wrong with the screen or anything, but it essentially bricked. I had to go back to my overheating xz5 premium and now I'm ready to upgrade to this beautiful phone in 3 weeks hopefully

2k HDR display and 4k HDR+ recording capability. No competition.
The dual camera setup is not on this phone simply because of the Compact variant. If they put this dual camera setup on the normal XZ, then they'll have to put the same thing in the Compact and this setup takes a lot of place.
The thing is, they might be developping a new sensor or an improved variant of the IMX400, because this is the only way they can go if they want to keep the Compact version.
And the Premium keeps the "low light" advantage!
So, this XZ3 is among the best flagships available right now, apart from the headphone jack, it has evrything and even more, I really want to get it to replace my XZ Premium, but it's still going strong and I'm pretty sure Sony has still some incredible things to unveil in this near future.

Sony don't follow the rest, be the best. Like Sony Ericsson's days, different designs and multiple phones.The design just seems like 90% of the market! No headphone jack is a bad move also. Plus moving the fingerprint reader from the ergonomically placed side tut tut.

I am going back to sony, their previous design was pretty slick but every other phone brand improved their design and sony got a little stuck it seemed. With this they are really back in the game. Only thing I don't like is that the headphone input is missing. And the fingerscanner is perfect for me, I hold my phone pretty low, never undstood why people hold it so high.
Sony if you're reading this, I want to say that you back in the game ,but please make a budget smartphone like Xiaomi do to improve your sales

Great video, but the voice at later part was kind of noisy or distorted so it was a bit incomprehensible
My first smartphone was Xperia X8 which is still alive and well after battery replacement (went dead after 2 and half years) now works as my phone book 😁.
2nd Xperia Neo V dead after 3 yrs, screen and camera smashed because of my clumsiness 🤣.
3rd iphone 4(trade in) to iphone 4s(sold it, having hard time using ios back then).
5th Xperia Z2(broken because of clumsiness) then Z5 still functioning well.
now using ip7 and Nokia 7+.
want to buy new Sony but, battery still small and i want dual camera, in the mean time keep my old x8 and z5 alive.
Just have to wait patiently....

They probably skipped the dual back camera option like on xz2 premium to introduce it again with xz3 premium really thought they really should relocate the fingerprint scanner and upgrade their" selfie " game, i hope they target these ones in their next premium device
This morning my phone just turned off, I thought it might be battery but when I charged it isn't working. I tried to reset it too by pressing on/off switch and volume switch together but it didn't respond. Can anyone help me please.

@@Eckoolt I have it but the later versions have this fixed. In the end its a gamble really. Maybe you get it maybe not. But here is a tip - its only on the black xperias, so aim for a blue one or silver one

Sony's time for constructive criticism is over. They have been making "shitty" phones for years now. People did give them constructive type of criticism back when they started putting out such phones, but they just didn't listen and continued making such phones. So now all they deserve is serious bashing. As far as Sony fans are concerned i believe they are just loyal Sony fans whose love is unconditional.
