you didn't get the point. Sony built in a DAC and a sound processing unit they design in the correlation with Qualcomm. It must be supported with type C connection to be cable to work. A jack only gives you 3 pins, type C gives 18 pins. And your point in this case is inappropriate.
These guys are allways trying to make sony phones look bad and i just dont get it.. in this video they were more subtle, but they always seem to arrange some excuse to steer people in other direction..
I don’t get it. UA-camrs, especially ones working for renowned channels should just review the products and take out their personal biases. Start your personal channel and share your thoughts. Like Max from Apple Insider, or Brian Tong. We know most companies pay for reviews and even send out “review units and review guides” to direct what you say or can’t say. I would prefer a balance review that allows customers to choose freely and not be steered toward any product.

Why the hell is this guy putting down the phone and saying gimmicks. A lot of the "gimmicks" Sony started like water resistance, 960 fps slow motion and auto multi-capture (predictive capture) to name a few, but when Samsung and other manufacturers copy these darn reviews don't refer to those as gimmicky or say they are coping. I have a XZ1 now and if I followed these idiots I would have been missing out on a very excellent phone. Side note, the XZ3 isn't one of the first phone to be lunch with Android P, it is the first phone, even launching with P before the Google Pixel line of phone for 2018.

Lol screen resolution is not everything mate😂. Look how the iPhone XR is selling. The thing is Sony doesn’t give you value for your money. Other flagships take a whole year to release one phone and they do it right but Sony takes 6 months and they never learn from their mistakes. For 900 dollars, I should be getting a great portrait mode, better zoom, great gesture mapping and a fingerprint placement that doesn’t look awkward. I’m not saying the competition is perfect but they do learn from their mistakes. My advice mate, you are too loyal to Sony and it makes you blind to their obvious faults. Go use a Samsung or a pixel 3 cos you deserve better. You won’t regret it.
You obviously don't know where these two you are talking about are coming from. There was a time when Sony, LG and HTC where big too in this market. Samsung and Apple just made it better. They are more interesting. It's not just about the marketing. The proof is that everybody wants to be them and unfortunately it's not working for them because they just create lesser quality clones.

Every time I watched this channel review a Sony phone, they have nothing better to say but to bash it no matter how good the phone is. Go check Amazon and BestBuy for a more accurate review. The PhoneArena channel is praise only on iPhone and Samsung, probably those company donate money to them for a good words.
In terms of color reproduction, and accuracy, a bit debatable. Phonearena measures Delta E errors that are over 3.59 for RGBCMY, and 7.54 for Grayscale (Anything below 3 is considered good and unnoticable to the eye) Gamma is around 1.81 which makes shadows appear brighter than they should. (Ideal target is 2.2 to 2.4) Only Iphone measures below 3 for Delta E with gamma hitting at 2.2. Color temperature/White balance isn't accurate and measures around 7990K. (6504K is the ideal) This makes whites and colors look more bluish and cold looking, which to be fair is a common problem for most devices. (The Iphone xs and S9 measure 6644K and 6890K respectively) At least you can manually get rid of the blue tint on the Sony and Samsung by using the adjustment sliders by bringing up the reds and greens a bit. Overall, I can see why apple scores highly in color display as their displays are calibrated before being shipped. On the Sony, it's kinda of a hit or miss, that may require manual tweaking in order to reduce the blue tint for best results. Other than that, I do like the Sony more once it's properly calibrated.

Actually they only used Omni-balance design on Xperia Z /Z1, Z1 compact, and up to Z5 Premium. After that they actually changed the design. To loop design, and unified design.

Not really faster than Samsung and LG in terms of release time. They have been releasing flagships every 6 months as well: Galaxy S and LG G series in Spring and Galaxy Note and LG V series in Fall.
How does it do playing UA-cam Videos? I'm using a Samsung J7 Sky Pro right now and if I try and watch a youtube video on the max setting of 720p 60fps the screen flashs black 2-3 times before it goes completely black and I'm left with audio only, this is something I'll have to research for my next phone.
Really liking this phone, and since I've been wanting to try a Sony phone for years I just might take the plunge this time. My main gripe about it is that, at least here in the U.S., its wildly overpriced for what you get compared to its competitors. Since I'm not planning on buying anything until closer to the holidays, I'm hoping the price comes down around Black Froday/Cyber Monday - if I could get this for around $650 - $700 I think I'd go ahead and grab it.

I don't get the buzz of OLEDs. I think the XZ2PREMIUM's display is one of if not then the best panel out there right now. 4k, HDR, really accurate (when calibrated), large, bright, great colours if you need them, vibrant when you need it, flat when you need it plus there will never be any colour shift or screen burn problems inherent to OLED
A good review as usual - but what is an "ounce" of weight to most in the planet? If you're using (oddly) a non-metric system you could at least state the equivalent in grams so that most would understand.
I'm thrilled about the front facing speakers and the fact that they didn't go with the notch I'm sad that they got rid of the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack when was too small of a battery in for that price point only one camera. Sony has made their own cameras and should have a wide angle lens.

This review is so biased. I am a sony boy but i am not blindly buying anything cause i am fan. Here sony has done some real innovation than other companies. They have always introduced something new to their phone than doing same thing every year like iphone and Samsung jusy increasing the specs every year with software updates. Sony has introduced so many new things to its phones every year like dynamic vibration, oled screen, 4k hdr shooting, super slow motion at 1080p, newly improved stereo speakers, side sense(still developing), low light and black and white camera in xz2 premium.
Watching this in 4K on my XZ Premium and i think I'll be upgrading once the XZ3 Premium comes out. Here is why: - 4K OLED Bravia Display - Next Gen Snapdragon with 7nm Process - 6 or 8 Gigabytes of ram - Dual Fusion Camera sensor improvements from the XZ2P - 128 gb storage - 4K HDR 60fps Recording (Currently only 30fps) This is a great phone already and so the XZ3P will be the one that puts sony as the undisputed king of Android spec-wise.
I am using xperia xz 2016 version. main issue- over heating, low battery longevity, camera apps shuts down due to over heat within minutes... I guess its made for the Siberian climate zones. Only great thing about Xperia left is timely Software updates. May be/Should be best after Pixels & close to Nokia.
They do have plans of bringing the new gesture to its Xperia Launcher. And I believe that it isn't just Android Pie users who'll benefit to that. Nearly all Xperias will recieve the new update.
I think if this phone had the fingerprint scanner on the side as my XZP, and the headphone jack, it would be perfect. Best sound, best screen, Japanese quality...
Great review. Phone seems really nice,,, really dig stereo speakers facing front. All the specs seem good. 6 hours battery is fine for my use. Higher definition phones always use batt faster. Probably even AMOLED. Not thrilled with the glass back,,,thats getting old. Grippy material or the ceramic matt finish is more practical and just as appealing to me. Price.... Stil to high but I'm a person that thinks No phone should cost more than 700 tops. And even that is higher than what I d pay. 4 to 5 is my limit. And for that I'd expect quality, good metal build etc. There's no excuse these days for less. Nokia is keeping it real, price and quality and features wise. Love that Sony is using stereo speakers though. Thanks again,,very thorough.

Always wanted a sony but as always their camera software or the algorithms they use just never hit the mark and i cant understand why. Sony make among the best camera's in the world and should be setting the bar for all manufacturers to follow but yet they've had this on going issue for years with ALL their phone's software algorithms and they never seem to want sort it...Same goes for battery life its just mediocre.. Yet the price their asking for this device is ridiculous.. Considering you can get the Huawei mate 20 pro with better everything for the same money or less.. If Sony spent the time on their camera software and ironed out the algorithms the same as Google has done with the pixel 3, just imagine how amazing the outcome would be...
i have: nokia lumia 1020 , samsung note edge , LG V20 , sony xa1 , sony xa1 ultra , sony xz premium . best phone XZ premium . best pic and video recording 1- XZ premium 2- XA1 ultra . best concert recording 1- XZ premium 2- lumia 1020 & LG V20 . best display XZ premium has 4k ! however the Note Edge is my favorite samsung phone with its excellent S-Pen great for art and video editing. the XZ premium has an excellent 3D scanner which can scan in faces, heads and objects that can be exported as obj. files with texture maps that can be used in 3D animation software like Maya. the V20 and Edge have excellent useful secondary displays.
I wish they'd put the fingerprint back on the side. I had a hard time deciding between the XZ2 and V35 a week ago and just couldn't over the fingerprint scanner placement. I love Sony's implementation of Android so much more than LGs so this was a huge let down for me. Wish they had fixed it with this model.

Actually they only used Omni-balance design on Xperia Z /Z1, Z1 compact, and up to Z5 Premium. After that they actually changed the design. To loop design, and unified design.

Ive had the xz2 for over a year now.. Eats the battery a bit but found it to be a fantastic phone, going to upgrade to the xz4 when its launched

Not really faster than Samsung and LG in terms of release time. They have been releasing flagships every 6 months as well: Galaxy S and LG G series in Spring and Galaxy Note and LG V series in Fall.

I'm using a Samsung J7 Sky Pro right now and if I try and watch a youtube video on the max setting of 720p 60fps the screen flashs black 2-3 times before it goes completely black and I'm left with audio only, this is something I'll have to research for my next phone.

Really liking this phone, and since I've been wanting to try a Sony phone for years I just might take the plunge this time. My main gripe about it is that, at least here in the U.S., its wildly overpriced for what you get compared to its competitors. Since I'm not planning on buying anything until closer to the holidays, I'm hoping the price comes down around Black Froday/Cyber Monday - if I could get this for around $650 - $700 I think I'd go ahead and grab it.

I think the XZ2PREMIUM's display is one of if not then the best panel out there right now.
4k, HDR, really accurate (when calibrated), large, bright, great colours if you need them, vibrant when you need it, flat when you need it plus there will never be any colour shift or screen burn problems inherent to OLED

I'm thrilled about the front facing speakers and the fact that they didn't go with the notch I'm sad that they got rid of the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack when was too small of a battery in for that price point only one camera. Sony has made their own cameras and should have a wide angle lens.

This review is so biased. I am a sony boy but i am not blindly buying anything cause i am fan. Here sony has done some real innovation than other companies. They have always introduced something new to their phone than doing same thing every year like iphone and Samsung jusy increasing the specs every year with software updates. Sony has introduced so many new things to its phones every year like dynamic vibration, oled screen, 4k hdr shooting, super slow motion at 1080p, newly improved stereo speakers, side sense(still developing), low light and black and white camera in xz2 premium.
Not buying Sony products until they fully support their products. Been a Sony buyer for 25 years.

Watching this in 4K on my XZ Premium and i think I'll be upgrading once the XZ3 Premium comes out. Here is why:

- Dual Fusion Camera sensor improvements from the XZ2P
- 128 gb storage
- 4K HDR 60fps Recording
(Currently only 30fps)
This is a great phone already and so the XZ3P will be the one that puts sony as the undisputed king of Android spec-wise.

I am using xperia xz 2016 version. main issue- over heating, low battery longevity, camera apps shuts down due to over heat within minutes... I guess its made for the Siberian climate zones. Only great thing about Xperia left is timely Software updates. May be/Should be best after Pixels & close to Nokia.

They do have plans of bringing the new gesture to its Xperia Launcher. And I believe that it isn't just Android Pie users who'll benefit to that. Nearly all Xperias will recieve the new update.
I think if this phone had the fingerprint scanner on the side as my XZP, and the headphone jack, it would be perfect. Best sound, best screen, Japanese quality...

Great review. Phone seems really nice,,, really dig stereo speakers facing front. All the specs seem good. 6 hours battery is fine for my use. Higher definition phones always use batt faster. Probably even AMOLED. Not thrilled with the glass back,,,thats getting old. Grippy material or the ceramic matt finish is more practical and just as appealing to me. Price.... Stil to high but I'm a person that thinks No phone should cost more than 700 tops. And even that is higher than what I d pay. 4 to 5 is my limit. And for that I'd expect quality, good metal build etc. There's no excuse these days for less. Nokia is keeping it real, price and quality and features wise.
Love that Sony is using stereo speakers though.

Total Sony fanboy and this phone might well be on the cards. One thing I've always had issues with on Sony phones is the screen rotation,don't know why but it can be quite infuriating.
According to GSMArena It has an endurance rating on par with all the other flagships release this year except for the Mate 20 pro.
The software looks very very clean and smooth
Always wanted a sony but as always their camera software or the algorithms they use just never hit the mark and i cant understand why. Sony make among the best camera's in the world and should be setting the bar for all manufacturers to follow but yet they've had this on going issue for years with ALL their phone's software algorithms and they never seem to want sort it...Same goes for battery life its just mediocre.. Yet the price their asking for this device is ridiculous.. Considering you can get the Huawei mate 20 pro with better everything for the same money or less.. If Sony spent the time on their camera software and ironed out the algorithms the same as Google has done with the pixel 3, just imagine how amazing the outcome would be...
i have: nokia lumia 1020 , samsung note edge , LG V20 , sony xa1 , sony xa1 ultra , sony xz premium . best phone XZ premium . best pic and video recording 1- XZ premium 2- XA1 ultra . best concert recording 1- XZ premium 2- lumia 1020 & LG V20 . best display XZ premium has 4k !
however the Note Edge is my favorite samsung phone with its excellent S-Pen great for art and video editing.
the XZ premium has an excellent 3D scanner which can scan in faces, heads and objects that can be exported as obj. files with texture maps that can be used in 3D animation software like Maya. the V20 and Edge have excellent useful secondary displays.

I wish they'd put the fingerprint back on the side. I had a hard time deciding between the XZ2 and V35 a week ago and just couldn't over the fingerprint scanner placement. I love Sony's implementation of Android so much more than LGs so this was a huge let down for me. Wish they had fixed it with this model.
As much as I like this phone, Sony cannot price this higher than the current pricing of S9.
It's funny that Sony delivers most camera setups to other manufactures but they still fall behind on picture quality from their own setup
