    I must confess it has to be God that led me to this video. I have been feeling down about the pain behind my knee after my MPFL surgery 6 months ago. I did this just once and it was like my extension came back straight away and it took away the tension from my calf muscles and hamstrings. God bless you. Thank you so much 😭

    This stretch worked like a charm! I play soccer and that muscle was extremely tense. I iced it twice with no real effect. The stretch really opened it up and I instantly got a 30% improvement. Thank you!

    I’ve been searching for over a year to find out how to locate and fix this pesky yet persistent pain. I haven’t been able to fully extend my knee and I have pain straightening it after long periods of it being bent. This has help more in one day than everything I’ve done for the past year. Thank you for sharing.

      Can’t wait to do the same. It seems that this muscle is neglected in thinking about knee issues, especially on a bike where your foot is stuck in place and the tibia doesn’t get to rotate properly on knee extension.

    Hi Jory, following a leg day work with weights, ( deadlifts, squats, lunges, and finishing off with weighted glute hinge ) two days later DOS came in , knee and back of knee cap was painful. I could not walk, and getting up from a seated position was a night mare. Also, I have had a long period ( possibly a year now ) of knee pain flare ups . But for the first time, recently I had behind the knee pain after aforementioned workout. I searched you tube for stretches for back of knee pain and came across your video. Amazing , it worked for me. I did exactly what you did, using a yoga block and chair, and immediately felt relieved. Thank you. Highly recommended👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽☺️

    • @JorySerotayoga
      @JorySerotayoga  4 роки тому +3

      Hey Just Jxn, Once you place your hands on the chair, instead of rounding the spine try to flatten it and lengthen your torso towards the chair. This will put tension on the back of the knee. You should feel it clearly. Best of luck...

    i'm 20 years old and i've had chronic knee pain for almost 2 years now. at first i didn't really understand knee injuries or how to do anything about it. i didn't really understand the nature of the knee injury i had too well. the doctor didn't care too much either.
    i've tried many things to rid myself of this pain. i've come to think that maybe it has something to do with the popliteus or the plantaris. only problem i'm having now is that it's difficult for me to do this stretch because my muscle flexibility sucks. i'm more than willing to keep on trying though. thanks for the upload.

      @@levinsonl hi Luke. Well, I'm 37 now and unfortunately it hasn't got better. I found out part of it was a torn gasronemius and got multiple injections in it (3 X lignocaine and 1 X steroid and lignocaine) over the space of a year. I kept going back too soon (physio advice) and it kept repairing again. Now it's like a bit of old rope and struggle to walk at times. NHS here in northern Ireland has collapsed and private are happy to take money for scans and treatment but not informative at all and don't really care if u improve lol, as long as u pay. I think issue initially sourced from. A combination of back tightness, desk job and prescription meds that cause muscle tightness. My advice - rest of sore/tight don't push through, little and often gentle exercise, find good medical ppl (there's a lot of quacks with qualifications but crap results), get sorted sooner rather than later and cross ur fingers. Some of its luck with ur body and the ppl who give u advice (and their motivation or lack of it) best of luck!

      he didnt answer you, and I'm no doctor or therapist, but often times growing up coaches and PE instructors agreed and preached the 3 sets or 20 secs. I couldn't imagine holding "stressed" stretch positions for more than a minute at a time each or more than 5 or 6 times at once. For myself as I'm stretching and working on my own rehabiliation I have found that my personal favorite "stretching timer rule" is 3 sets of 30 secs; that way giving yourself an extra 10 secs in case you felt like you didn't get into the most effective position to the stretch you were looking to get/feel. As long as you aren't over doing it all at once I've been told there is nothing wrong with stretching as many times as you feel fit and is recommended that you strive or at least TRY to stretch AT LEAST twice a day, once when you wake up, once before you go to sleep. Also stretch before and after exercises. Wow, that ended up being a lot to type, and I started this whole comment with "I'm not a doctor." >
