I just got 3 crisp $1 star notes, all consecutive serial numbers. How can I find out how much they are worth?
Wonderful channel
Have ones,fives
When I was 21, I worked as a teller at Wells Fargo. This was around 2007, when the new $5 bill design came in. We received a shipment, $5000 worth of $5 bills in a package, and I noticed on the front they were ALL star notes, brand new crisp, and in serial order. I knew they were worth something, but didn't know how much. I withdrew $5000, took it home, and put it on ebay, selling it for around $8000. After ebay and paypal fees, I pocketed roughly $2500 profit. I felt pretty good about it, until I realize it most likely could've worth so much more. The $5000 had 1000 bills on it, and I remember deadon the it started with 00000001*, so it went up to 00001000*. Sigh.
Wow, that's amazing. I totally hear you, but hey, you made money, so it's still a success story!
Surprised the bank allowed you as an employee to do that.
@@mysterybuyer3738 why not? I withdrew $5000 and told my service manager that I specifically wanted it as we were doing morning count, and she gave the ok.

Recently sold a $1 star note for $400 that I acquired at a bank the normal way. They are out there. Great video! Good summary.
Where did you sell it I cant seem to find anywhere.

I’ve sold 4 $1 notes since January. 2013 B series duplicates, totaling over $1100 so far. I work with money on a daily and have been collecting star notes for about 8 years. By far one of the smartest financial moves I’ve done for myself as my return on them so far is mind blowing.
I finally found a crisp low serial number 2017 star note in change from the grocery store! You’re absolutely right about the thrill of the find!
So much fun, right?!
I received a $10 bill as a tip and was excited to discover it was a star note.
Interesante vídeo gracias por compartir un abrazo buenas tardes 👏👏👌👍👍👌
I need to get a chance to talk to someone about selling it
I get them too.. I have collected a envelope of them. Have no idea who to sell them to?

@@TheTyyohe thank you I just started learning about collecting and man it don't take long I have a extra large load of coins also been a cashier for decades..thank you
My local coin shop knows I like star notes so he saves them for me when they come in from people selling collections to him. Best ones I got from him were a consecutive run of 5 star notes that were mint state silver certificates from 1957. Other than the coin shop, I get an average of 1 note in each bundle of ones my work gets from the bank.
I literally reached into my pocket and found two $1 star notes. They're in good shape (close to new, slight curl to the corners and a slight fold in the center), they're consecutive numbers, and they have a run size of 640,000. You didn't mention it, but I suspect a pair of bills with consecutive numbers would be more valuable as a pair than individually. Guess we'll have to see if they're worth anything.
I have been collecting star notes for 12 years, this video told me to look at them I even have some I got at the corner store new with s.numbers in order,I think I have 4,or 5. but i have hundreds of them got to go take a peak.
I’ll have to disagree with you. Finding silver in your change is even more satisfying.
Well, i stand corrected because I agree!

I recently was given a 1922 peace dollar as change from a gas station. She said she hates one dollar coins. But in bad condition it's worth 25.00. Not bad
I just pulled out a mint $20 star note that is very rare. It was pretty exiting to find. Good luck to everyone who searches coins & bills. It’s a lot of fun.
That's awesome! Nice!
After seeing this video, I started looking for the star notes and also average one per 100 bills checked. Most from larger runs, but I did find a rarer one, and it's a $100 bill. That was exciting!
i work as a cashier and i always exchange my bills for star notes when i find them i usually can get like 5 a day it’s a great way to get them

My husband and I have collected 58 star notes over the years. They’re all $1 bills. Of the 58 though, two are considered kind of rare with a run size of 640,000 but 1.2 million were printed. However, we do have one that is more rare with a run size of 250,000 with only 250,000 printed in total.

I really enjoyed your vid. Gave an old guy something to pass time. Just bought a box of quarters and $100 of ones. No star and no really good dollars. Now I am working on my quarters. I did subscribe.
I never knew about this, it's like modern treasure hunting! There could be a fortune in your pocket and not even know it. Luckily, I make GREAT tips at work and I've been saving up. Found my first star note in my stack of singles. Not worth anything, but I'm now really interested just for the fact it has a star and I'm not being punked. I'm going to be keeping an eye out at work from now on lol.
Heck yeah! It's the thrill of the hunt
Every week I go through 300-500 singles from my bank. I always find star notes. I recently got my a stock of $2 dollar notes and found me a few star notes in them too. The key is don't be annoying to your bank. Go in, be nice, smile, and get out with your change. Don't be pushy. Easy peasy and fun to look through the stacks.
Couldn't agree more!

I play $1-2 poker once a week, and have collected over 100 star notes from the games! Mostly $1, but also some 5-10-20 and a few 50 and 100s.
Thanks so much for your information on the star notes. I look for them all the time. My biggest challenge is checking coin counting machines. There is a little try at the bottom that they rarely check after counting their coins. It's a Great place to fine silver coins because the machine does not identify silver so it drops it back out. My tip for you . Santa 🎅
That's for sure! I've found some good stuff in those machines!
I believe in Santa Claus Mrs Claus the North Pole and the nine reindeer. 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅

Love star notes. I started out with these. It's hard to get rid of for me.
Great video, as always! Something to know is the $1 bill shown at 1:28 is actually a genuine issued non-error note that's been altered to appear like an error!! Genuine examples of this error have not only the district seal (F) shifted, but also the district numbers (the four 6's in the corners) will be shifted. This is because the district seal and numbers all come down onto the paper at the same time. GREAT video as always. I'm always looking out for valuable star notes in my pocket change as well. Take care and stay safe!
Not sure how this vid got recommended, but I’m so glad it was. I’ve been casually collecting USD for some time and really enjoyed the info you shared. Liked and subbed!
Thanks for the information Silverpicker, appreciate it!!!
Great video I have been getting more into collecting bills and this helps a lot
So glad to hear it!
I have unsuccessfully sold any of my star notes, I do however have 7 notes from the 2017 I series, the 250k print run Minnesota note you mentioned in the video. I even have three consecutive notes, one with a minor printing error, all in immaculate condition. My favorite thing about these notes is that for some reason, all of the notes in the series are offset, leaning heavily to the right on the obverse. Some really cool shit, really wish I could sell em tho 😭😂😂🤷
I work at a phone store where I literally get like 1000s of dollars a day so I keep the stars and exchange it with regular bills but tomorrow I’m going to a concert and I’m paying everything cash I’m sooo happy for this

I have been going to my bank and buying $500.00 worth of wrapped $1.00 bills and on average I've been getting three to five star notes per wrapped so for me this is my favorite way to get them and some of them have been of low print runs. When I get tired of going through them I will consider selling them but I am not tired it's a thrill to go through them and I am not losing a penny by doing it this way. Have fun !!!
I’m gonna start doing this...
