Nobody is gonna give up their matching bill. So a mutual written contract for auction would have to take place and the funds divided 50/50

This is great information, Silverpicker! We've been saving bills with unusual serial numbers for several years, and I know we've got a number of * $1 bills. Will be checking those for sure. Interestingly enough, just recently when Kath (my wife) brought home a * $1 bill, we were thinking that there probably wasn't much demand for those, but wouldn't it be cool to come across one that actually has some value! I'm glad I stumbled onto your channel today, because we also love learning about precious metals. Fantastic stuff, and I just subscribed. Thanks for bringing our attention to this project!

It's so interesting how my family members think I'm crazy for collecting star note bills and bills with unique serial numbers that I have all separated in individual envelopes. I even have a huge coin collection that I began to separate base on its date or value. Your videos just confirmed that I was on to something all along!

Going through your replies to the * Star notes, brought to my mind the same type thrill when I pan for gold, and find one or more nice pickers, (bits of gold big enough to pick it out of the pan with your finger/thunb and hear it “ping” when you drop it back into your pan)! GOLD FEVER!!

Great job Silverpicker bringing this little known topic to the world! Fantastic video! This really needs to go viral and it will be amazing! The more eyes looking and pulling these notes out of circulation and entering them into the collectors world, the better the chances for making matches! Don’t doubt the possibilities. I only learned about this 9 or 10 months ago, got involved looking and submitting notes and now I can say I’m one of these matched pair owners. You can do it too!

I went to a coin show in my town and saw one of the dealers were selling a sleeve of 25 star notes Series 2013 New York $1. The top one was in the range of printed bills. I got the sleeve for a little more than face. Come to find out 23 of the 25 are in the range. HOLY COW!!! I will submit the numbers and wait.
Update: I currently have 29 Notes on the registry. Yes, I have listed them. Zegers/Winogard no longer maintains the master list. It was taken over by someone else when Mr. Winogard has some health issues. The new master list is a Google Doc that is updated very reguarly.

How do I register all my star notes. I got plenty. Mostly 1 dollar bills, does that also pay off if the star notes are 5 10 20 50 and 100 dollar bills need help thanks
So, what happens after a match is found? Obviously, one owner would have to part with (aka purchase/mail, and/or ship) his/her bill to the person who owns the matching bill. Then once the bills are together, to whom would you sell the matched pair? Who has that kind of money to purchase such matching sets? And how would the transaction(s) take place so that it's done in a secure manner? This scenario reminds me of a tale involving a hidden treasure map which was torn in half, and when the two owners finally got together, one of them "snuffed" out the person holding the other half of the map, located the buried treasure chest, and claimed the entire contents.
