Brian Michael Ben-less? ...Ok I'll leave now.
@@Stitchlii, Agreed.
Come back to us. A people will crumble without their king.
This is just about the time I started getting into comics. I believe it was the day after the last issue of Siege came out that I just sat at my compute and for 6 or 7 hours I browsed the Marvel Wiki to catch up on what all the major characters in the Marvel Universe had done in the last 70 years. That was a good day.
TerminalNoob That's really cool.
Dusting off a oldie tonight with this gem, love the back issues of back issues. By far the best comic book content on UA-cam
Finding a Back Issues you missed after watching them all at least twice is so awesome
+kinneary Yes!
I believe the Illumi-Naughty was called The Cabal
Illuminaughty is funnier
I think Dark Reign/Seige would be a great phase after Infinity War.
i agree
Probably not going to happen considering what happened recently in 2019
SuperDragon978 it’s so amazing to see how things change and all through this little comment thread
Seems now that we are getting Secret Invasion which could lead into Dark Reign afterwards.
Just read this, I loved it. "How many more gods will I have to kill today," has to be one of the best lines I've read in a comic. I do agree with you on the ending though, it just tries to rush to put everyone back together again and erase everything that happened. I loved the story of Siege, but they needed more time to bring everyone together again.
megame23 I'm told that Avengers: Prime kind of bridged things together really well, but the first issue didn't really hit with me.
TV Little House Comics That sounds like an interesting follow up story, I wish they had made Siege longer than 4 issues though to fit some of that into the main comic. I've been looking at which tie ins would be worth getting. I have to say though I really just want someone to kill Iron Man off, I really despise Tony Stark. Not sure I want to read a book with a focus on him and Thor, Cap is my favorite Marvel hero though.
+megame23 did you try the seige tie in? the asgard one was pretty cool.
Awesome video, guys im glad siege was the choice. I love the way stark and cap get back together, "oh the thing that drove us apart no longer exists. So we are best friends again now despite the fact that up until this event we hated each other's guts. YAY besties for life!!" That's so flimsy, i guess they really just wanted to get back to pre civil war with as little effort as possible
I remember watching this video, and buying Siege story arc at my local book store back in 2014. I want thank you guys for recommending this long time and getting me into Dark Reign aspect of Marvel.
Destroying a stadium full of people = 1/4 - 1 Exploding Suns
Ripping Bargain Bin Thor in Half = 10 - 15 Exploding Suns
Thor = One Million +1 Exploding Suns
I love power levels so much.
I really loved Sentry, and had a personal interpretation of the character. For me, since he was a teen when he stole the serum, his mind, now overcharged with reality changing powers (he destroyed the molecule man once), tried to make since of it, and chose a super hero, since super heroes have power. That's why he looks so much like superman, the ideal hero. In the same reasoning, every hero needs to have a equally powerfull villain, therefore the Void. But those three personalities, plus Norman's constant manipulation (he even implies in one book that the sentry has existed since ancient times), he goes beserk. I really wished they had done moew with the character. Anyway, great video!
Of course Emma Frost was part of the "Illumi-naughty." What surprises me is she never actually refers to it as such. (I know she's all serious undercover work, during this arc, but it seems just the sort of thing she'd say.)
***** Especially written by Wheadon.
TVLittleHouse Heh, yeah, now that I think about it, that sounds very "Astonishing."
I guess the difference is that Bendis would have her say it for a purpose (to mock Osborn or discomfort Doom with flirtation), whereas Whedon would do it because that's what Xander would say.
TV Little House Comics
that group was called The Cabal
When the UA-cam algorithm throws up an OG back issues on my home screen, you know darn well I click it! Edit: yo here's a good episode ripe for a redo since it had only two of the gang
I loved this era so much 😭 the old days
Looking at this in 2019, i was still discovering Marvels events when siege was ongoing
He venoms out. That's dumb. Gotta love Ethan.
This was the first comic book tpb I read in middle school and i won't admit whether or not this episode predates that period of my life.
Ah, home from work, girlfriend asleep, headphones in, Civilization IV started, and ready to hit play.
All I know about this comic is Norman is Luthor and does something to Asgard...so I'm in for a treat.
I wish we could have more Ben and Sal episodes.
Great video, once again! 👍
I can't wait to see you talk about fear itself and watch Ethan and Ben reactions !
dragonmares59110 Ughhh Fear Itself.... They've played the Pinball game on the XBox, and it baffled the hell out of them. I was like, "That's basically it."
Congrats on 1,500 subscribers your channel gets bigger every video!
Thank you! Here's hoping!
Really like this series. Hope you get more views.
i think they call themselves the cabal or maybe that was later i don't remember clearly
javier solarte yes, they were THE CABAL, that i remember
You guys should definitely do the x-earth stories. Love those and so much happens
Norman was caught ''green faced'' lol , great video guys bt we need the dynamic trio!!!
Thank you! I agree, Ben's quite integral
Hey Comic Pop! Great video as always! I was wondering if you guys were planning on doing the fan vote again because I think that would be a really awesome idea to implement!
I'd love you guys to do either planet hulk or world war hulk, as I've read a lot of the main story arcs for marvel just never got round to old bruce.
No Ben? :[ How will he be dead to me, if he isn't here?
Sentry is now realizing how it felt when he ripped Ares in half
Yay Siege! Oh Cap and Tony hashed things out in Avengers Prime. Super funny guys dig these vids
Thorfan85 Thanks man! I read the first issue and was like.... I see where this is going.
Sal could you do a video on how exactly they split up the marvel characters between Fox, Sony and marvel. I know you have talked about this subject in other videos but I just want to hear you rant on the topic some more.
Oh that'll make me lose it. We can do that.
"You can trust Me, I'm Steve Rogers"
Steve Rogers Captain America, 2017...
Lol shortest back issues ever! I love siege, Norman with his ridiculous painted face always made me laugh!
Question: If the Sentry does something bad, does the Void do something good?
That would make sense. My guess is he just does "more bad." Which is dumb.
Ooh crikey, do you see that in the distance? That's a very rare 2-person Back Issues! Some say this is the only of its kind. Let's listen in to its 25-minute mating call...
Bought trades since I started watching Back Issues: 10
Every time sentry, Ares and Osbourne were together it was amazing
UNCLE BEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No rush, but could you guys do an episode on a Magneto story? Recently i've been in a Magneto mood. I've been reading the recent series, and it's awesome, but i want to know a story or two about Magneto in his PRIME.
I wonder if they collected that first story starting with X-Men #1 with Jim Lee on pencils...
The people living under Asgard are now massive fans of Monty pythons spam sketch (bloody Vikings🤣😂🤣😂)
OK first off Awesome episode. I love what you guys do. Keep up the great work. Quick question: Does that comic book cover directly behind you guys show a dude with his pants around his ankle taking a wizz? Just curious
That's Captain America #23. It's a dude putting on a helmet as he faces away from us. What looks like his pants around his ankles is Thor lying crumpled in the foreground. From a distance it does look like he's taking a wizz though lol
Ethan Marsh Thank you! I forgot to check on this.
Ethan Marsh Thank you for clearing that up. You guys rock in stereo
thank you.
Fun story when you guys tell it. Sorry if anyone else answered this, but if they are planting bombs in a stadium in Chicago, that would most likely be Soldier Field where the Bears play. Keep rocking guys.
And this is why I didn't vote for Siege, cause I read it and it was "Civil War: The Epilogue" LOL sorry I wont be able to make it out this Saturday guys, even tho I live 2 hours away, but work pays the bills; hope you guys have fun!
It's cool, Josh! We appreciate the love.
You just pooped in The Sentry's super boot.
I just realized that I'm watching this video on its two year anniversary.
Bendisforce Sentry :)
You know, the Sentry/Void thing is not as simple as Voids does the oposite of what the Sentry does, not allways anyway, also him going full Void at the end makes more sense if you read the tie-ins and his apearances in dark reign, at this point he has been slowly driven insane for months, actually pretty much sinse New Avengers his mind was slowly decaying
I thought they were eventually The Cabal, they were called this on the third Avenges toon then called that in the New Avengers Illuminati book
I like that AVP shirt Sal had on.
Pretty sure Sal would say it's just an Alien/Aliens shirt. I don't believe he's a fan of AVP...
Yeah, my son said the same thing.
Ethan Marsh Technically, I call it an "Aliens," shirt, but if people enjoyed AvP, I'll take it ;)
Hey!

How can you think the mutant registration makes sence when in the entire history of superheroes, they would all wear mask to protect thier private lives and loved ones?
Brian Micheal benless
Damn around 840 , talking about how powerful sentry is, I’m soooo shocked and appalled you guys didn’t use that chance to say “he became so powerful” 😭
No Ben 😭😭😭
I really thought my vote was gonna get picked
buku43v3r Next time, I'll bet!
In the 90's spiderman series goblin was a split personality from Osborn, that eventually merged with his.In spectacular spiderman it was just Osborn putting on act in order to do bad things. So which is more accurate to the comics?
Kinda both, originally it was a spit personality that began to merge, the he suffered a not so fatal case of death, when her returned he was was more in control of his faculties and publicly distanced himself from the goblin by employing ringers to allow them to be in the same place at the same time (the general populace learned he was the goblin after his "death"). Later he'd just start going bonkers every now and again and swing between personas which is how he ended up in seige, after that I have no idea as I wound down on my comics consumption.
Can we vote who disappears for the next episode?
Which comic book they were talking about?
Hi, could you clear-up one question for me? How did Steve Rogers return after he was assassinated at the end of Civil War?
The Red Skull brainwashed Sharon Carter into shooting Steve with a time bullet that hurtled him through his lifetime. It's in Captain America: Reborn, which was a lot of fun!
Awesome. Thank you!
i think i was 13 or 14 when i got this read. it was what got me into comic books, cause i didnt know where to start and I got hooked, and i was hoping to read similar comic books like this in the future, especially from marvel but to this day...marvel has become something gross.
Has Brian Michael Bendis ever written a really good event? He has written really good comics (Secret War, Alias, Spider-Woman) but shitty events.
+Shadow Gabriel I really liked Avengers: Disassembled a lot. I felt like that really worked on pretty much every level.
+ComicPOP! I've started with New Avengers. Seems like I need to go back.
+Shadow Gabriel if you don't know, he wrote ultimate spiderman for like 10 years. You should check it out.
mike hunt I know but that's not an event. I've heard only good thing about it but is not that relevant to the current state of comics and I'm not a big Spider-Man fan.
Shadow Gabriel oh that's fine, though I'm serious when I say you SHOULD read it. It's great in my opinion.
Doom serves No One.
I could have sworn when I read this that Osbourne's group called themselves the Cabal
Howard Roark
Konstantina Kiros
3:18 is that really Loki? He looks like a transvestite
He was turned into a woman for a little while.
7:49 his face is so funny 😂
Please do dark reign Spider-Man
The only 2 person back issues ?
Why did the Chicago Bears have to die?
I know it's unrealistic to expect Sal to remember all the details exactly how they happened, but with all the little inaccuracies in this episode it makes Siege sound stupid when it's actually pretty epic.
I finished reading this "event" and couldn't believe how stupid the writing was.
No8Named8Shadow Stupid?Man you need your brainsack checked
This story is as implausible at both Peter Parker and Kamala Khan working for Norman in the same department. ...this comment was made in Oct 2022. Why is that relevant? No reason... 😉
The ending felt so rushed, Plus The Sentry killed Loki and ripped apart Aries yet Thor beats him? The Sentry has fought Galactus and WWH Hulk to a stalemate yet Thor beats him! Jesus Christ Marvel makeup your mind about how powerful The Sentry is yeeeez lol
+Steven Melendez Thor is a powerful dude when he goes all out.
I know this is a reply to a very old post. But this Thor is far more powerful than normal Thor. This Thor is on Gaia, so he has all the power from the earth plus he wields the Odin Force. So he has the power of Gaia, Thor AND Odin.
Me Me That doesn't change shit,sentry/void would absolutely annihilate the asgardian shit out of thor.Sentry without void is already onr of the most powerful non cosmic beings in all of marvel multiverse.
If the void emerges, any version of thor is dead in less than 4 secs.
Suddenly Uatu
Iron man droped the helicarrier on Sentry, which caused an explosion so powerful that powered him down so Thor could kill him...
Well at least that god awful character Sentry is dead for good.
No I come for the combination of all of you and the great comic knowledge and all of you are fun but I don't like the new people that are sometimes here
Bullseye > Hawkeye
Siege was a joke it is the reason I stopped reading comics. Asgard home of the NORSE GODS... again NORSE GODS! Warriors that have been doing battle for centuries. Hell battling with other GOD'S. Get taking down by the Green Goblin in an Ironman suit Venom bullseye and a bunch of other bad guys that Spider-Man has kick the crap out of. Not to mention all of shield. Asgard and asgardians being bombed by Shield fighter jets. LMAO on that one. But this is Asgard so Marvel thought in their Infinite Wisdom. That they might need more. To take down the Mighty armies of Asgard... YOU THINK...So they brought in the sentry. A once drug-addicted crackhead who broke into a lab and drink a SHHHH A SECRET formula... That gave him just as much power as Galactus. And we'll use him to make the killing blow that destroys Asgard. But before he does that. They will demonstrate some of his secret formula power and have him tear areas in half. Areas the son of Zeus the God of War. THE GOD OF WAR!!!! got torn in half by a drug-addicted crackhead who drink again SHHHH...A secret formula. Marvel is a joke and the sad part is they pat themselves on the back. Like they did a job well done. Its not about good writing anymore for them it's just about what they can pump up and put out and sell. It's about money.
