I love the Teen Titans cartoon. It is funny that they can't use Deathstroke's name but they can use Killer Moth's name. But I kind of prefer Slade; Deathstoke the Terminator is very 80s and kind of upfront scary, while Slade seems more covertly ominous It's also funny that Robin is so obsessed with finding out Slade's real name when he is actually using his real name.
Or the fact that they thought it was okay to have him melt in lava then be resurrected as an undead hellspawn by a demon to torment Raven but Deathstroke is just too far

There's actually a story "Nightwing Year One" that's about what Dick goes off and does in the middle of The Judas Contract. That's where he learns Superman's Nightwing story. Pretty good book actually
A lot of the reasons Wolfman goes out of their way to make Terra evil and unredeemable is because he was annoyed at the fans loving her and trying to come up with excuses for her.
In the teen titans series when they visit starfires home planet beast boy realises he can shapeshirft into an alien monster aswell. Idk about shifting into people or mass differences like a giant spider?
I'm sorry, but - no. The Judas Contract is the greatest DC story ever told - EVER!! No. I honestly used to think that, and still do to a certain extent, but after quite a few rereads over the decades, I realized it's just of the times and WAS good for THAT time. The Deathstroke/Terra relationship was controversial then, and still remains. Her mental illness was also palpable enough to remain relevant. All in all, I think it remains part of the greatest in DC story arcs - over the top/ controversial/corny or not. :)
Honestly the show and the comic are like apples and oranges. The characters are the same but theyre put into different situations. I grew up with the tv show and loved it, but I'm also reading the reprints and theyre incredible as well even though the tones are different.

Honestly, I find the teen Titans animated series to be one of the most beloved series while also being underrated. To this day it’s one of the reasons I love beast boy and all the other titans. Dc as a whole. It actually had humor while also getting serious. Each season focused on a character’s development and even though they changed deathstroke’s name, Slade was just a lot cooler Imo. His character struck so much fear into me. He provided actual stakes. I loved the anime inspiration and the theme song. Even the movie was great.. but that FINALe. What in the cliffhanger

Beast Boy gives this eulogy talking about her as if she had some big redemption and she doesn't there's nothing redeeming about her in the story or in that movie and it's frustrating that they end and the movie makes tries to give you the impression that she died a hero or that she was worth anything when she wasn't and the only time I've seen to where she doesn't suck is a little bit in the Teen Titans cartoon and Young Justice to where it's her brother who's the a-hole and not her

People remember Judas Contract not because of the comic but the the show which I think handled it better but that is because the show came out later and had time to learn from the past. A lot of good comic at there time have a bad issue with dating themself these is one that shows it a little more than others.

Christ O' Mighty, I feel like making my own review about this story cause of how I feel about all the jarring differences between this and the early 2000's animated adaptation that I grew up watching.
This might be late, but Raven doesn’t just sense evil, she is an empath. She can sense other people’s pain, joy and all the other feelings. And the real reason Raven did not expose Terra is because Raven is struggling with the evil within herself being Trigon’s daughter. So, she is not sure if the evil is within herself or Terra. So, she did not want to make any accusations without certainty. And after all the school shootings we have over the years, Terra’s hatred of the Titans is more realistic than ever people. Some are rejected and angry while others are jealous of others who are successful or beautiful or whatever. There is logic to some evil even if they are illogical looking from the outside. How do you explain a teenager shooting kids or total strangers? Sal seems to know a bit about the book, but some mistakes or misrepresentations or disregard for the facts to be funny like his friends. But I don’t like the snarky comments; it’s like people who thinks they are too cool for comics. Are the comics perfect? No, they are not like the MCU movies where there is a team of writers and have months to develop a story. Marv Wolfman and George Perez do a monthly comic month after month for years. What is a budget for an issue of comics? For you guys to make funny comments is disrespectful to these creators who have entertained hundreds and thousands of people. And to identify Starfire for her relationship to Robin dismisses everything else she is. 😢😢😢😢

Btw the 80s Teen Titans is the best version of Teen Titans in comics I've read mainly down to the character interactions. Oh and Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol is AMAZING, you guys gotta do that one at some point.

Cool show as always. It was a comic of it's time. My fav Titans was their cross over with the JLA. But, Tara did return...sort of as a member of the titans, Along with Damage. Think it was her from another earth. I.e. Earth 1. Earth 2. Earth 3. Any way she acted as she did since Marv had a problem with Shadow Cat and this was his making fun of that character. So that it makes no since is ok with me since I'm a fan of Shadow cat from her in the early X-Men and in Excalibur.

The New Teen Titans was my favorite comic book from the eighties with Cyborg and Raven being my favorite members. Cheshire was my favorite Titans villain but she wasn't in the Judas Contract but she should have been. I view Raven as kind of like Spock because she could never show emotion lest she lose control of her inner demon. I cherish this era but doubt anyone will ever be able to recreate the amazing first run of the New Teen Titans like Marv and Geaorge did.
Sounds like they basically depicted this story in the teen titans original cartoon. They gave her a reason to dislike them in the cartoon because she thought bb betrayed her lol. But yeah I'm excited to see the judas contract movie with more teen titan characters.

Judas Contract was hailed as one of the beat stories in comics before the Teen Titans cartoon. I agree that the show did a great job with it, though.

My fave Titans story is the Terror Of Trigon I believe it's called. The time he actually wins and destroys the world then the Titans fix everything.

The New Teen Titans was my favorite comic book from the eighties with Cyborg and Raven being my favorite members.
Cheshire was my favorite Titans villain but she wasn't in the Judas Contract but she should have been. I view Raven as kind of like Spock because she could never show emotion lest she lose control of her inner demon.
I cherish this era but doubt anyone will ever be able to recreate the amazing first run of the New Teen Titans like Marv and Geaorge did.

Sounds like they basically depicted this story in the teen titans original cartoon. They gave her a reason to dislike them in the cartoon because she thought bb betrayed her lol. But yeah I'm excited to see the judas contract movie with more teen titan characters.
