- In this first episode of our celebration of Spooky Season, we're covering the first volume of the stories of the Master of the Dark Arts himself, John Constantine. Through mostly episodic tales, we learn about John's character struggles and skewed moral code, as he battles forces of darkness on all sides, losing friends and betraying allies in the process. But how much will Constantine sacrifice for the "greater good", and does the occult antihero have the strength to fight all of his demons, figurative and literal?

John Constantine is one of my favorite comic book characters of all time.
I have most of his comics including his first appearance.
I've been a big fan of his for a while. Definitely one of my favorites too.

Greetings! I've been wanting to cover more Hellblazer, but I wasn't sure if there was much interest. Looks like there is! Are there any particular arcs or runs you would suggest?
Honestly the NBC show did this story justice man and I read this when I was younger before my dad sold his collection and when I saw the show I was awesome I'm sad they canceled it
Man, I loved that show when it came out. I hadn't read any Hellblazer comics before watching it but the show made me a huge fan of Constantine ever since. Matt Ryan is absolutely perfect as John.
Well there was Keanu Reaves in 2005 and he did a pretty good twist on the character
@@kyleashby882 Yeah, I love Keanu and he was great for what that movie was trying to do, but his version doesn't feel at all like the comic version of Constantine to me.
