During the hot summer months, how much does air conditioning affect your driving range. And could you comment on the amount of battery drain the air conditioning accounts for in bumper to bumper traffic in congested city driving. Great presentation, thanks.

During the hot summer months, how much does air conditioning affect your driving range. And could you comment on the amount of battery drain the air conditioning accounts for in bumper to bumper traffic in congested city driving. Great presentation, thanks.
It's really not that bad. Very minimal. The heat actually uses more energy but the new heat pump system has made that much better too
The octovalve helps with the cooling and heat pump for heating, the radiator helps with the battery cooling. Way more efficient than electrical resistance.
@@theadventureinsider yeah it can basically manage freon in any direction whether it's to cool or heat instead of using multiple radiators or water pumps etc.
@Juan Carlos Could you estimate the difference in range between a really hot day and a mild temperature day as the result of running the air conditioning? Thanks for the feedback.
I spent 5 minutes with this car and figured out the steering wheel. You can’t turn it with your palm like a round steering wheel. I use my index finger and rotate it from the inside of the wheel.
Very informative video. Greetings from Switzerland.
Thanks for watching!
Great review. The best I have seen yet!
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?”
“Spaceball 1, THEY’VE GONE TO PLAID”
At first I thought you are in Frisco. But looking at highway scenes, now I think you are in Austin area?
“I wanna do that again” 😂
1000 horsepower sounds amazing for a 4 door sedan!! No one needs that much horsepower but it's nice to have!!
Thank you for the review! I'm here in Austin too and I would totally pay you for a quick ride in the Plaid! I have a Model 3 LR DM.
Shannon, you pulled the emergency door release. You should only use it in an emergency or your car battery is drained. Use it often is likely to damage y our door seal.
I have a lot of mixed feelings with the steering wheel (the yoke) and the turning radius.
19:50 careful with the manual release on the bottom. if its like the Model 3 it is only meant for emergencies because it might not be able to roll down the Windows in time. I havent heard the chime from the car so it might be different, in the Model 3 you will get notified to not use it unless its an emergency (it might damage the frame)
Now if the car has power it rolls the window down
7:19. Best part of the video
Watch his neck muscles. I am waiting on my Plaid now. These cars really give you a workout when you push them. Passengers really feel it.
At 12:47 you opened Frunk with key fob/key remote. For my 2021 Model S Long Range all I got was couple of credit card type keys. No remote. Must be available for plaid only?
Nope, it’s an optional purchase, plaid doesn’t come with it
My hatred for that yoke is immense. It clearly looks unsafe with only having a bottom half to grab onto in any situation that may arise.
That car is so sweet. I want to upgrade my Model Y now! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the comprehensive review.
I'm glad I have something the Plaid doesn't have, my Model S still has a sunroof. I really don't like the buttons instead of traditional knobs and levers. The reason the old S is so much better because it has some traditional wiper knob, door handles, and the portrait screen is much better for maps.
Lol you’re out of your mind
Either crazy or probably 60+ years old
2:22 ...and that's why u have a round steering wheel
Recognize the 360 highway in the Austin area. Can't wait to see the car roaming the ATX streets. Great video.
Thanks for the review!
Thank you Shannon. Could almost feel the thrill just by watching your physical reaction. Enjoyed your laughter after the experience. Almost as good as... The walkthrough was excellent. Waiting on my CyberTruck, so it's useful to see the user interface. One helluva testimonial for this vehicle. Any wonder why Elon doesn't spend a penny on advertising? Just subscribed. Keep the videos coming. All the best to you.
Thank you!
He doesn’t need to pay for advertising. Especially when new owners post videos like this, with great information.
Nice car, congratulations, well deserved Dr.
4:28 just ignores the stop sign 😭
Dont think I need Laser cataracts to view this masterpiece.
Congratulations on your new Plaid, best of luck to you! Besides the speed, is there a big difference with the new Model S LR dual motor? Seems like they basically copied everything from the Model 3 & Y. The Green light chime is in both 3 & Y as well. In regards to the door opening, the lower level is for emergency use (per Tesla manual) only, because there’s a chance it can break the glass (I have yet to see it happen). It also can scratch the black trim if the door closes back against the car. Top button is the way to go. Enjoy the car looks beautiful 👍⚡️
What a great review! Best one on UA-cam for this car
Wow, thanks!
Absolutely right
Hey buddy, first time here.
I really like your review. It's very different, but somehow - very pleasing to watch it.
Also *slow clap* for timestamps.
As much as I love the car, and Tesla company itself i was HOPING by next release of Model S they would improve on the inside. Folding middle seat on the back (cupholders and the rest) looks like crap.
Other than that, 10/10, car is simply amazing.
I noticed, those holes in trunk behind taillights are gone. (one goes for the subwoofer) did you have them in P100D? I only drove 85D and they were SUPER useful.
Thanks for video again, and keep up the good work.
