I’m also thinking about Rogue Echo because it’s super efficient and it doesn’t require long sessions to see results. If I can spend less time on it and look better, I’ll go with that. lol The most affordable of the three I picked. If I go with this, I can also do my long sessions with my recumbent bike. I already have a subscription with Hydrow and I don’t think I want to pay another company every month so I can do my workouts. I like to workout, but I don’t want to be locked in a system where I feel like I’m being fined every month for using their product. So for this reason, the rational part of me says no to that. The irrational part, considers it. Some of the Peloton instructors are fun to ride along with. I’m also considering getting the Peloton app and use it with Ergbike or Echo if I go with one of those. So that’s why I’m a little bit not sure about Peloton. It’s like , if I want to use their app, I might as well take advantage of the whole package and get the bike. But still not convinced about it. Slim chance I would say. Do you ever wish you would have gone with Rogue Echo bike? I really like both and I can only get one. I like Ergbike , I think it’s fun to be on it and do your workouts. I would probably hate working out on Rogue, because it’s so hard, but it’s so efficient and that’s what I want. Less time on the bike and more time for other stuff. Help. 😂
I live in a relatively flat rural area. Great for bike riding. I ride my bike erg on days I can't ride outside. Long steady rides. If I ride 1/2 hour, 1 hour, or 1 1/2 hours..It is all the same. The last 10 minutes are brutal and I want to quit. I just bought the Echo Bike, and it is a totally different experience. Not really riding, more of a wind suck, and short term pain machine. Similar to the ski-erg.. I am ready for another lock down if it comes. Both are great machines..
Completely agree with your assessment of these two great pieces of equipment. Bike Erg is great for those long conditioning rides and there is no better machine out there than the Echo Bike that can suck the life out of you in such short intervals.
Harvey, I'm really stuck between the two machines. I've got a Concept2 rower I love and space for either of these. I love the meditative/workout of C2 rower, and I anticipate the bike erg would be similar, but maybe the "different" of the Echo's more productive? I have room for one. Which would you recommend?

Thank you for watching and for sharing your honest feedback! You are very much correct that low intensity work can be done on the Echo Bike and I use to do weekly long duration, low intensity work on the Echo Bike before I bought the Bike Erg. The Echo Bike is an incredible piece of equipment and honestly can't go wrong with either bikes.
This is a great video, I'm completely torn on which to buy for my home gym. From experience, there's no way to get the peak Echo intensity out of the BikeERG. But the bike has a smaller footprint for a home gym where space is at a premium. And the bike also has better workout versatility. I've already got a SkiERG and WaterRower which give me that lower intensity burn... Maybe I go Echo!
How can you say the C2 is more versatile. You can do one thing, bike long distance and use one muscle group. The echo is clearly the more versatile. They are both great and can't really be compared to one another because they have fundamentally different uses, BUT if you had to, you could use the Echo for long distance, just legs... You could not use your arms on the other.
I like the BikeErg, but my problem is the seating. It's just too uncomfortable. Can the seat be switched out? I noticed that's the one thing on air bikes (like the Echo) that you don't experience.
Thank you for watching! You are completely right - between the two bikes the Echo Bike wins when it comes to the seat and its comfort. I have seen where people have changed out the seat on their Bike Erg. Some will go to a bike shop to get a custom fitting seat and can remove the existing seat with I believe a 15mm open end wrench.

Does the Echo work well for longer steady state training at 140-160HR for 30+ minutes? Is there risk for repetitive injury with your hands on the handlebars?

Don’t disagree with you there. This comparison was made as the Echo Bike is already arguable the best in class when it comes to air bikes (vs Assault or Airdyne). Goal was to compare two different styles of bikes that purposely have different purposes for those considering one of the two.

Would you still come to the same conclusion, that the Concept 2 Bike Erg is worth that price, or would you give the Echo Bike the Edge? Hope you can answer my questions.
Thank you so much for watching! 1. I'd have to say the volume for the noise between the two is very comparable. The Echo Bike might seem louder only because of the larger fan blades and the fact that the fan blades are not caged/exposed. 2. Honestly, I still would come to the same conclusion if I had to chose between the two at those price points. Since buying my Bike Erg I have just used it WAY more than the Echo Bike given it seems better for endurance cross training and can be used for HIIT too. I do like using the Echo Bike for that HIIT and for the full-body warm ups and cool downs, but the Bike Erg still gets the win in my books. Hopefully this helps and happy to share more insight.
@@Randy_589 Have you tried low intensity steady state cardio on the Rogue Echo for approx 20-30 minutes? If yes, how was it? I’m trying to decide between these two also.
I would never purchase something like an Echo bike or Airdyne-the whole body motion thing looks really dumb. Concept 2 has always been about replicating an actual athletic endeavor, be it rowing, X-C skiing or cycling. That being said, NOTHING is more punishing in my opinion than the C2 Skierg for using all the major muscle groups, including the C2 Rower which I’ve used extensively for 22 years. It’s just that NO ONE in my gym, including the trainers there have any clue on proper form for maximum benefit where the Skierg is concerned.
I owned an AirDyne for over 25 years then bought and Echo bike. The Echo is made more for HIIT. You are not going to ride it a long time as you would an AirDyne. Chain drive vs belt are 2 entirely different animals. If you ever decide to do HIIT on an Echo bike, for example 6 or 7 rounds of going as hard as you can for 15 seconds then rest for 45 seconds and go again, you might change your mind what is more punishing.
