  • The Concept2 BikeErg works right out of the box with Zwift! The PM5 transmits via bluetooth to Zwift so you're able to pass both Watts and Cadence to a device that can receive bluetooth signals. With my Mac, it connected immediately. If you have an issues, check out the Zwift companion app which can help bridge the connection. In the past I had a smart trainer on my road bike which required a ton of extra sensors to transmit data and would often drop the Zwift connection. The BikeErg is affordable, extremely well built, and just works. 100% recommend for a very painful, but fun, Zwifting experience. If you're buying any gear & you find value in my videos, please consider buying through our links as it helps me to continue bringing you great content.

    Nice job, I've been using the concept Bike Erg and Zwift for over a year now and find it's a superb introduction to a static bike/zwift combo. The only thing I wish I could do is pause a ride and take a comfort break but because the PM5 times out I can't get it to restart my zwift connection unless I restart the session! I do love concept though, have the Model E rower (please zwift!!) and the Ski Erg.

      Miles Orchard I haven’t experienced this drop yet as I normally don’t take an extended break when riding good to know though.
      You can hook up your rower to Zwift using an app called Painsled.
      You use your rower to send power to Zwift which moves your bike avatar. Not ideal but works.

    Thanks for video, my friend. I have a smart trainer I used with Zwift, but in our covid gym, it's kind of pain to setup an actual bike on it when we are constantly moving things around for workouts. I love the resistance that the game applies on a smart trainer, but for quick workouts where you just want to get out there and burn calories and don't really need to simulate the resistance from the game, this thing would be ideal for us. Another way for me to justify the purchase to my wife- it works with zwift out of the box.

      You want a Rogue Echo bike if this is what you're looking to do. $775 US shipped, will do exactly what you described. There's no hiding from the pain on that thing. In fact, I'm actually here for the opposite reason. I have the Echo bike, and while I suppose it's possible, it's really not something that's designed for mindless cardio while watching TV. I am sure you could blast your quads on this too, but we are looking for something for more of a warm up or active recovery days. My gym has one of these, it's ideal for that. But we do that on level 4, I have not tried putting the damper on 10. For all I know, it will do both types of exercise.

      Michael Smith the MacBook Pro has a Bluetooth receiver so as long as Bluetooth is enabled on your computer, Zwift should be able to tap into it. The HR strap I linked in the description actually serves as a bridge for Bluetooth and Ant+ connections as well which you can pass to Zwift via your phones app (if needed)

It could be my imagination...but I find that in races it's hard to stay in the draft when the pack moves out...like the bike ERG is a little under-responsive. Hi John - I tried it and it works great. The only issue, and it's a big one, is the inability to dial in resistance to match the instructor. Their resistance is exact and wouldn't be possible to match on bikeerg. We ended up buying a Peloton as well and I would not recommend anything but a Peloton if you want to cycle with the instructor as just matching cadence feels incomplete

    • @raunefare
      @raunefare 2 роки тому

      If the other riders stay at the same output pr. Kg. As you you will go up at the same speed. But if they have gradient simulation on. They will probably push more watts to overcome the chance in cadence. And then you will have to up your watts to follow.

      @rob2oo4  3 роки тому +1

      @@ronhagenhoff2373 ahh ok. I’m not aware of any difficulty settings within the game itself as your own fitness level is the difficulty setting. You can join races based on the wh/kg which basically converts the level of effort you’re putting out in watts and calculates that against your body weight.
      I consider myself in better than average shape and I still join the lowest tier (D) for races. A is where the elite cyclists ride.

      The Zwift application is written to auto detect bluetooth devices that are in an awakened state. If bluetooth is enabled on your Mac or PC, Zwift will find your devices. In the case of the BikeErg, as soon as you press the 'Menu' button on the PM5 console it's awake and Zwift will automagically find it. Same with HR monitor. That's how it's 'all connected'.
