Hello Miss Paris!!! That was a really lovely and insightful talk! I teared up in the end! Bless you 💕
I'll be doing my PGCE SCITT this September and I am assigned to a Year 6 class!! My feelings were the same (i think its still is) but after listening to this, it calms me down a bit.I have met them before the summer break and they seem lovely. My background was teaching in the early years so this is a huge jump for me. Anyway Ill do my best and thank you again for this lovely video!❤❤

Aw thank you so much for watching and commenting! Year 6 feels like a different breed of child aha, but builds those relationships ASAP. It's your biggest asset and tool. Also, don't let them view you as a trainee, assert yourself as a teacher (top tip). Best of luck 😁 Do follow me on Instagram if you're not already, I'd love to hear all about it x

I'm an ECT and starting with my first ever class next Wednesday! The school I interviewed for wanted an experienced Yr 6 teacher with at least 10 years of experience but changed their mind after my interview... Defo no pressure felt haha Very excited but also terrified! This video was so helpful and put my mind at ease

      Hi Sophie,
Thanks for commenting again! Yeah Year 6 can be daunting, but like I mentioned in my video, I felt the same. Build those relationships ASAP and establish and encourage good learning behaviours from early on, especially nearing SATS. Good luck! Xx

      Hi Alice,
Thank you so much - what lovely words and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Regarding your question, what do you mean by "third class?" X

@@aliceedache7226 Ah I see, sorry I still had (school) class still in my head. You will have to check course providers as some may accept this and some may not. They will also look at your GCSE grade, including science if you're interested in teaching primary x

Hi Miss Paris, I am interested in doing a primary school teacher training course. I was wondering how to check the demand for the primary school teacher job market. Do you have any advice or information please?

    • @PetitePrimary
      @PetitePrimary  3 місяці тому

      Hi Daniella,
There is no set way to check the demand of jobs. There are so many factors that impact this:
      - Time of year
      - Retention rate of a school
      - Maternity leave
      - Loyalty of staff
      - Number of schools in an area
      - Size of area etc.
Time of year is a big one. There are certain popular "seasons" where lots of jobs come out as teachers can't give two weeks notice like a lot of jobs. Maternity posts will be sporadic across the year though.
Apologies I can't be more specific! Whereabouts are you based? X
