I know i’m 4 years late but still i just wanted to say how good these cookies turned out. definitely a 10/10 and i will be making them again
Thank you for trying them out!☺️
WOW!!! I made these and OMG they were so chewy and tasted amazing. I’ll definitely make these again!
Thanks for watching:)
This is the first video I've found that is easy. Also this video is the first I've found that didn't use an Electric Mixer. So, thank you.
You’re welcome, glad you found this to be helpful!
I used a mixer but I think I used it for too long and they came out so cakey 😢
Overmixing does cause these cookies to become cakey, that’s why it’s better to hand mix :)
I love videos like these. No talking and more action 💕
Thank you so much for this recipe!! I've been trying to satiate my snicker doodles craving with a recipe that didn't include cream cheese and tartar and this turned out great!
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you found this to be helpful😊
First snickerdoodle recipe I’ve seen without cream of tartar 🤔 gotta try this
Hope it goes well!
You make these cookies so easy I can't wait to make them thank you
Thank you for watching☺️
my daughter made these! wonderful cookies.
Thank you!
Personally tried to follow this exactly, (I did pack the brown sugar and added slightly too much butter, and melted it) but these came out airy and fluffy. I will be using less baking powder next time, and perhaps more sugar though these are quite good on their own and I didn't coat them very much.
Adding too much butter or brown sugar will not result in a airy or fluffy cookies so don’t worry about that. However, you might’ve whipped too much air into the mixture when you were creaming it together. So don't overmix when you're creaming together the butter and sugar :)
I think it’s because you used baking powder instead of baking soda
Thank you so much the cookies tasted great !!!!!!
Would for surely make again thank u ☺️
You’re most welcome. Glad you liked them!☺️
the whole time watching i just wanted to eat the batter😍😍😍
That’s the best part!
Yum. My husband will love these. Thank you for all the grate recipies. Your my first go to for what I'm looking for.
Aww I’m glad you enjoyed it!!😊
I'm showing this to my wife, so she can make me these. Thanks
Thank you! Definitely give them a try:)
You could also try to make them yourself! 😉
I’m sure they would turn out just as delicious
You could, ya know, make them for her....
@@yerrellmoore1181 that makes too much sense
Do you refrigerate the dough at all it came out super cakey?
Looks delicious i will try it soon!!
Do we use Salted or Unsalted Butter?
Use unsalted butter because we are adding a pinch of salt in the recipe. However if you only have salted butter available you can skip the salt that we add later in the recipe
Yumm!
UNDERATTED
😊😊
Is the brown sugar packed? What kind of butter? Salted, unsalted or sweerened? It irritates the hell out of me when recipes aren't clear since I'm not a good cook. I'd like to make these.
You can use any type of packed brown sugar . In addition, The butter has to be unsalted since we already added salt to the mixture. Hope they turn out good 👍🏼
@@delightfulbites6178 Thank you. Sorry for cussing. I meant to say heck. 🙂
i followed step by step and they came out more cake like, they’re really delicious still but I’m not sure why they didn’t come out like yours
Maybe you used a different type of flour such as cake flour. Or your egg might’ve been larger. Bigger eggs make your cookie more Cakey
Wish you the best of luck next time😊
@@delightfulbites6178 I used the wrong brown sugar! I thought it was brown sugar but it was actually coconut sugar which upon a closer look is more comparable as a sub for cane sugar. Will have to try again with some real brown sugar they were great nonetheless !
can you substitute lemon juice with cream of tartar? if so, what are the measurements? thank you!
Yes you may, use 1 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar☺️
Just watched Preppy Kitchen use cream of tartar in his Snickerdoodles
Wow love this!!! Going to try this!!
Thank you!!❤️
what temp. do you preheat the oven to
nvm
The cookies are SO good but keep in mind that they COULD come out smaller then what the video shows, it’s still stays amazing though!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed them!
Anyone know the music, what's it called? X
Do you use light or dark brown sugar? I know dark has molasses?
I used light brown sugar, but you can try dark brown aswell:)
Hi! Can I use calamansi juice instead of lemon juice? Thanks!
Yes you can!
@@delightfulbites6178 same quantity? Thanks for your reply
@@delightfulbites6178 Will it be okay to use buttercup (margarine)? Thank you!
Yes margarine can be a great alternative for butter, if anything some people prefer using it over butter!
Use the same quantity you would originally use for both
i love it i want to tr it out
Definately do, they taste amazing!
can i substitute lemon for white vinegar :)
Yes you may use 1/2 tsp of white vinegar instead of lemon juice :)
Yummy!!
😊😊
what is 2/4 cup? Would that be 1/2 cup?
Sorry there was a typo in the description, go with what the video says which is 3/4 cup brown sugar. You can make that by just using the 1/4 cup 3 times, which is what I did. If you don’t have that, you can measure out 12 tablespoons also.
how many does this recipe make?
It makes close to 15 cookies, it also depends on how big you make each cookie
I am going to make these but I was wondering the purpose of the lemon juice?
Lemon juice helps make the cookie chewier, you won’t taste it in the cookie
Is the vanilla extract needed??
No, feel free to leave it out
No. Granny's snickerdoodles never had vanilla.
mine tured into a big pull of cookie that takes like sand
will melted butter effect the recipe?
The melted butter can be used if you want a more dense cookie, however it will create a more spread out, flatter cookie and they won’t be as lifted as regular cookies so that’s why it’s better to use softer, room temperature butter
@@delightfulbites6178 thank you
Did anyone else's batter come out like a cake or Pancake mixture batter? I just now made these and the batter was not like hers at all. My batter had no firmness. Can someone explain why or tell me if you had the same problem? I had ALL the ingredients too. So idk , I'm confused.
Me too 😭 they’re in the oven rn idk what they’re gonna look like
Same here pray for me. Mines are in the oven
@@tisamidcuo6794 lmao mine became flat round blobs that all squished together but after they cooled they hardened up a bit and were pretty yummy. How did urs turn out lmao
@@kiarakoval7069 mine are flat and I was making them for my moms work idk what to do 😭😭😭
Maybe I’m better off buying my cookies😂😅
Don’t loose hope baking takes time and the first time is always a trial☺️
So we use baking soda and not baking powder??
Correct, baking powder isn’t needed in this recipe
@@delightfulbites6178 thank you!! Making them now🤗 Are used almond flour and Monk fruit/ erythritol mix .. I am low carb and zero sugar.. we are going to see how they turn out🫣
Is the lemon really needed
The lemon helps to make the cookie chewier but you can leave it out if you don’t have it
My brown sugar is a bit more coarse can i still use it?
Yes of course, brown sugar will end up dissolving in the mixture once you bake it
made these, they were good, just were little mountains, not chewy flat cookies. next time ill leave out the baking soda, or at least drastically reduce it. maybe then theyll turn out chewier.
Yeah just keep experimenting to see what works for you☺️
@@delightfulbites6178 i did, and even then they didnt turn out like in the video :(
Can I use Almond flour and not Regular flour
Yes you can, use the same amount of flour as listed
My cookies never spread out😭 why is this happening?
Some reasons might be...your oven isn’t preheated enough, you are over mixing the batter, you’re baking sheets aren’t good, you added too much flour (don’t pack the flour into the measuring cup)...baking is trial and error☺️
Maybe you are using baking POWDER instead of baking soda?
This happened to me also. Oven was sufficiently preheated, did not pack flour. Recipe was halved though and I did bake on a silpat.. they still tasted good but I am going to try freezing some of the dough so the baking soda does not react. I will report back. I am guessing that some people have a cakey result due to very active baking soda.
Is it 2 and 3/4 cups of flour? Or (2) 3/4 cups of flour 😭
It’s 2 cups plus 3/4 cup of flour, sorry for the confusion :)
I messed up, I made them and they were cakey, upon further inspection I realized I only used 1 stick of butter thinking that it was a cup 🤦🏻♀️
Don’t worry practice makes perfect, wish you better luck next time☺️
I was so excited to make these but then I took a bite and they where not what i was thinking. :(
Mine did not flatten at all
Sometimes when the cookies don’t flatten it’s due to extra flour being in the mixture. When you add flour make sure to not pack it into the measuring cup, also try chilling the dough in the freezer for a little bit before baking☺️
The cookies came out soft and pillowy. Not really like in the video. And also in the video we saw you make 12 cookies but this gave me way more than 12… good flavor but the texture was not firm and chewy but more soft and cake like
Cookies turn out to be cakey when you over mix the mixture. So don’t overmix when creaming together the butter and sugar :)
