Childhood classic and as a big Spider-Man fan at that time it was endless fun whenever I played this game, glad to see there’s others out there who think so too.
YESSS. Someone else who noticed and paid attention to the unlisted combat moves. And indeed, this game is flawed, but underrated. I really like seeing more positive thoughts on the fun game that has such a weird overly critical stigma attached to it.
Thanks man, yeah I feel like there is more under the game’s combat that people don’t really give it credit for. Definitely agree, I feel like people have a strange critical lens for this game that doesn’t feel fair at times. I think it deserves a bit more love than people give it!
I actually liked this one more than Spider-man 2: the game. As much as fans like to praise it, it really had nothing going for it except the swinging mechanics. Spider-Man 3 on the Ps3/Xbox 360 was the bomb to me. It had multiple boss phases, better story than 2, the MJ going for rides missions with Spidey were tedious but fun overall. Scorpion's origin and redemption arc were the best part. As for the movie plot itself, they actually managed to tweak it with Venom being buff and cunning. Sandman being forced to help him because Venom kidnapped her. Oh and let's not forget the cinematic QTEs 😂.
Agree with you there man! I actually prefer it over 2 as well, I feel like it has a lot going for it that gets overlooked! Deeper combat, bigger city. It’s less polished, and the swinging is arguably worse, but I think 3 hits more spots for me. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for making this, I know it's not the most loved game but i respect the amount of content/ambition that it always had and for that i love it. Also the soundtrack is really good.
My first 360 game too. Poured over footage of the game prior to release, bought the PS2 version thinking I was getting the one in the trailers lol. Did the same thing the following year with Web of Shadows. Fool my twice, I'm an idiot child.
Nice video, you brought out some interesting points like one about skyscrapers and sewers. But I remember this game as a half-baked, clunky and QTE-filled disappointment with bad graphics. And I dunno which one of two felt worse: Spider-Man 3 (2007) or The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). When I tried TASM2 for the first time, it felt so off that I even dropped it at the beginning of the game, when Spider-Man arrives to a construction site. Years later, I purchased a Steam copy from resellers (at that moment, Marvel's Spider-Man on Steam still was just a dream of myself, and I wasn't a pirate no more, and I had some real Spider-Man hunger, so I purchased TASM2, DLC for both TASM games, Shattered Dimensions and the bundle with two of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games) and played through TASM2 for the first time, heading for 100% completion. It was such a grind to unlock "Ultimate Spider-Man" achievement for reaching maximum levels for all suits, I spent hours beating those symbiote guys on the prison island. The story was short as Avril Lavigne, I think there is a lotta more content in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales game that is considered as "DLC" by some players (haters?), than in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Plus TASM2 does not follow the TASM1 (video game) story with the cross-species, it's more like a parallel universe, like a parallel universe to both TASM films and TASM1 video game. Like there is a Rhino mecha suit in the docks in TASM2 (video game), and we seemingly killed the cross-species Rhino (a human fused with the rhino DNA; yeah, according to audio logs, it was the man himself, Aleksey Sytsevich) in the previous game. Like what? By the way, the cross-species kinda transferred from the first game to the second one: Kraven hunted all of the them down, except for Rhino... Like I wanted a real sequel to TASM1 game, and the devs are giving me a game that isn't really connected to the previous one. The swings were downgraded in TASM2, the graphics felt worse than in the 2012 video game, the karma system was a garbage, the game overall was mid + infuriating at times. Anyway, I would like to see your video on the TASM2 topic some day. What about Spider-Man 3, I like the fact that we are fighting Rhino with the help of Scorpion in the 2007 title, and then, years later, both of them are teamed-up against Spidey in a boss fight in Marvel's Spider-Man!
Thanks for sharing! You bring up some really good points. TASM 2 was the most disappointing Spider-Man game for me. The first ASM had a ton of potential and I was super excited to see what the sequel would do. It was sad it ended up being a step backwards in almost every way.
haha it's not that they're scary just fucking ugly as hell, unfitting of what spider-man's costume is supposed to convey, and so completely out of place in the films' quaint heightened reality @@calvinfishermedia
The only things I remember being disappointed by are how Harry Goblin controlled and how this game isn't connected to the first two movie games even though they're connected to each other. As such, I'm surprised to hear this game had a bad reputation.
I wish this game would have kept the continuity better too (like with scorpion for instance). I was surprised by the negativity too. I think it deserves better which is partly why I made this video :)! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching everyone! What’s your favorite underrated game from the xbox/ps3 era?
Viva piñata for sure is my favorite underrated Xbox game
@@Yuukat25 nice!
This one.
Favorite underrated game for me is Sonic 2006. Probably the only person who has this opinion, heheheheheheh!

Same here, it’s awesome to see other people enjoyed this game as well! Thanks for watching.

hell yeah more spider-man
Thanks for checking this vid out too man! Hope you enjoy!
@@calvinfishermedia thanks, am
I feel like the psp version is the best version of spiderman 3 thats why i dont have a problem with it back then. As it was an improvement
The psp version is the same as the ps2 version, right? That is the one I first played!

The SAME thing happened to me with Spider-Man 3 as a kid! I got the ps2 version thinking it would be like the trailers and was disappointed lol
@@calvinfishermedia, imagine what PC players were thinking of Spider-Man 2 (2004 video game).
@@rodarollada ooof that is a great point haha… I never played it but SM2 for the PC looked ROUGH

my spider-man hot take: the raimi suit is hideous
I LOVE the Raimi suit but I could definitely see why you wouldn’t. The white webs and sharp eyes aren’t for everyone lol
