I am amazed at how talented you are. I have been painting my wooden privacy fence for he last month and I have pulled up several of your videos to learn how to do things. You are the best Art Teacher ever. Thank You so much.
Wow, thank you!
I think I just found my mentor. This is like painting made easy. I do some paintings and follow a lot of painters on youtube, first time seen someone so cool and a good teacher who makes me feel very confident. I am very happy to watch your videos.. Thank you for what you're doing
This painting is certainly one I am going to paint. I love beach paintings especially ocean and waves. I've gone back to some of my older paintings and fixed them up now that you have taught me how to blend colors and paint interesting pictures.
I finished this painting it is so pretty. I picture myself relaxing in this hammock enjoying the weather.
I have found that I say alright a lot after watching your wonderful videos.
Yup I did it again!...lol😄 I’m having so much fun painting these beach scenes 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I miss being around, listening & feeling it so much but this helps bring back good memories. Thank you thank you for your patient & detailed teaching 😃❤️👍🏽 Can’t wait to paint the next one. Take care & stay safe 🙏🏽😷
Thank you for your clear explanations of technique, colors & how to get correct perspectives. A great help.
Its like in my house in Martinique front the sea. Thank you very much for teaching how to peint a Hammac. Its really magnifique 😍❤️
Merci!
great job. I feel the peace
Hi. I really look forward to and watching your videos especially when you’re touring the world! You have got me kick started into enjoying learning to paint again which I’m finding quite rewarding, so thank you for that. I find your instructions, techniques and tips are straight forward and easy to follow, and the simplicity of a limited palette and use of three brushes makes things so uncomplicated! I don’t know if you take suggestions but I’d love to watch you doing a moonlit beach scene. Again, thank you.
Thank you again Michelle for this wonderful tutorial. I want to do a Hammock painting for a friend of mine. I am still learning and I had no clue how to paint a hammock until I found you. The way you teach is so relaxing and very easy to follow. I will be following this one for my painting but I will be placing a book and a hat on the hammock as my friend is an ardent reader and she loves the beach. So many thanks Michelle. I am glad I found you. XX
Glad it was helpful!
1/2 through painting this with my 12 year old and we are really enjoying your work! Thanks.
That is awesome!
Thank you Michelle🎖️🎖️🎄🎄🇦🇺
This was so interesting seeing how the net came together. It was hard to imagine but turned out so cool. Thanks
WOW THAT IS SO GOOD EVEN I CANT DO SOMETHING AS GOOD AS THIS!!!! YOU ARE A VERY TALENTED PAINTER AND PROBABLY THE MOST. THANKS FOR SHARING
I enjoy the paint like you, beautiful work.
There was a couple of pictures at the beginning that reminded me of Rotan Honduras. The beach I spent the day at had pristine crystal clear water and white sand. It was the most beautiful ocean is ever seen and the water was so incredibly clean. Even out at 7 or 8 ft deep you could see clear to the bottom and it was so comfortable in temp. The passion trees there's on the beach had the balls of roots, but all of them were coconut palms with alot of coconuts hanging from them. Our chaise lounges were directly under them! It's a wonder we didn't get pelted by them. I just loved the Caribbean and can't wait to go back.
For sure I love it ....it is one of the best...thank you.
Glad you like it!
I have learned so much from you. Thank u so much for having these classes. I painted the cardinal and my friends n family went crazy over it. Can't wait to paint this one you just did with the hammock.
You are so welcome!

I just love your Technique and how you always put two colors on your brush and it goes on. Awesome you talk to me on the phone my name is Caroline New Jersey and I just wanted to say hello and thank you so much for your lessons you teach me a lot💕💕💕🦋🦋🦋🦋💫💫💫👍👍👍
I would also like to say anyone who buys her kits
They are amazing you should get one she gives you all the supplies that you need for that painting and it's very very affordable. And who can't afford affordable these days big props to the great artist I suggest that you buy one because it's amazing
Michelle, I enjoooooy watching your videos , you really are a source of positive energy , and a source of inspiration as well.. As soon as I watched this video, I prepared y canvas, colors , brushes , and most important my coffee, I felt so enthusiastic as I started, and ended up drinking the water with colors that I clean my brushes in , instead of the coffee :D Thank you for sharing my dear ..sending love your way.
Well, I can attest that normal acrylic paint is not toxic...lol... I'm notorious for putting my brush into my coffee cup, and then I drink it anyways (and I drink a lot of coffee when I'm painting)! Glad you're enjoying the videos! ~M
Love it!!! Looks awesome! Thank you for making these tutorials!! They're really so helpful!!! I admire your artwork big time!!! 💖💖💖💖💖

Hello nice so beautiful painting
Thank you so much 😀
Well my hammock didn’t come up as well as all the other paintings I’ve done with you, but I’ve started another smaller one and have. Better perspective on it now. Learning as I go. Thank you!
I'm glad you are learning and I hope you continue to paint and just remember to have fun and enjoy the process!
superrr :)
Awesome work ...I enjoyed it..This will help me surely...
Glad to hear that
Love your classes, great instructions and inspiration. I would add some shadows on the ground. 🎨🍷
Sure, you could add shadows if you want to. Thanks for watching!
You are creative and wonderful, I love your style of painting
👍❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice
I really enjoy your paintings and have painted along with you a couple of times. I'm wondering what paint brand you use. What I'm currently using is a heavier body than yours and I really like how your paint blends. Thank you for sharing your talent!
Hi Lisa, I'm glad that you're enjoying the videos. In these tutorials I use a thin student grade paint from Dick Blick that's called Blickrylics. You can always add a little water to your heavy body paint to thin it out too. Just make sure you stir it really well so you have a consistent consistency. I hope this helps. Le me know if you have any additional questions. Have fun painting! ~Michelle
@@michellethepainter. Thank you so much!
❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹😍😍
Thank you!
I enjoy watching all your tutorials. I’m not good at painting, but enjoy trying.
Love this one!
Have you used cerulean blue for sky/ water before? Sorry that color blue spelling escapes me.
Hi Linda, Yes I have, however, for these videos I use only a couple of the blues that are in the brand I use. The brand I use is Blickrylics from Blick Materials and I know that they have a turquoise color that is similar, but if I'm going for that tropical water look, I'll sometimes use phthalo green and cobalt blue. Thanks for watching and have fun painting! ~Michelle
I love your paintings! do you use Dick Blick student acrylic Blickrylic? thanks
Tht's correct!
What brand of canvas do you typically use for your videos?
Hi Lindsay, I use Artist's Loft canvas for the tutorials. Have fun!
Hi Michelle! Wish I could show you how I've recreated this for a birthday gift for my Husband. Won't be publicly posing until after Nov 23. You're awesome. Anyway we can share our work so you can see? xo
Hi Susan, Yes you can share them on my facebook page Berkshire Paint and Sip. Thanks so much!
Michelle please add the photo in the corner it would be easier to paint when seeing the reference photo thank you
Hi Mary, I'll see what I can do about that, however, you can print a copy of the final painting to use during the painting process. It's much bigger and easier to see that way. You can find it in the description below the video. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Have fun painting! ~M
When she says a stretched and a "primed" canvass, what does she prime it with??????
Hi Denise, I am using pre-primed canvasses. I buy them that way. You can buy raw canvas (usually looks more like a tan fabric), or you can get it already primed (usually a white surface). Most store bought canvasses these days are already primed, which allows for a stable adhesion of the paint. If you have raw canvas, you can prime it with a product called gesso, which is designed specifically for priming art canvas. I hope this info helps. Have fun painting!
Shouldn't the hammock be in between the trees. It looks like the wood on the right will hit the tree hen it rocks.
The angle suddenly changed! It looks right now.
Hi Kathleen, Yes, it's an optical illusions that can be a little confusing if you don't see it correctly the first time. Glad you were able to see that the hammock is in fact between the trees...lol! Have fun painting! ~M
Everything is fantastic, thank you. But please don't put ice cubes in the wine. You are ruin the taste of wine :-)
LOL!!! I know, I know, I know... I ruin every glass of wine by doing that, however, I love it cold, and I'm okay with it being watered down a little. Glad you're enjoying the videos! ~M
White wine 4-6 deg.C and red wine 8-10 deg.C to get perfect aroma. Cooling only outside the bottle.
Thank you for the videos ;-)
Hi Michelle are you lettuce mum?😀😀
Hi Salime, I have to be honest, I'm not quite sure what a "Lettuce Mum" is, but I sure do like to eat salads... lol! Take Care, Michelle
