    An angle grinder from harbor freight is almost free. But props for doing everything with a dewalt drill. Pretty much just shows you don’t need any special equipment to do this. Although not sure how long it’s going to hold up.

    Why don’t you just cut the battery case part off the Base and then you will have slot more space. Shit I got 2 12 fet controllers, a big 16s8p with a 100amp BMS along with step down and a ton of wiring for lights and upgraded phase wires. It barely fits and I extended the base by a inch so it’s not stock. But for 2 40 amp controllers and 60v pack the scooter moves and looks sweet. One of the biggest improvements you can make is to switch to mountain bike handlebars, so much more stable. Requires some custom fabrication though.
    Maybe I will make a video to show you what’s possible.

      Yea If u any videos Kevin let me know ! I’ve seen some of your work on scootertalk , you’re a pretty crafty man 💪 , if you have any videos on suspension that be pretty cool to see ! Front/back wheel suspension .

      I am finishing up a build with front and rear suspension with 12” cst tires on. 8” hubs. Kinda looks like a dualtron city. Definitely the most custom work I have done to one of these. Not a full time project but been working on it for 6 months 😂

      Thanks bro yeah I was kind of skeptical at first. That’s about as far as you could push it with the bird2 as far as the housing goes. Currently working on a bird 3 dual motor . Once you get your hands on a dual motor scooter it’s hard to go back down to a single drive motor.

    pls dont brided the b+ and p+ of the bms so you get power again. if you dont have a bms you will either overload the battery or underload it and that is very dangerous even if you dont over or underload the cells you will have extrem unbelenced cells after some batterie cicles and lose range. you can instal a bms with some aford and be safe agian an have short surcid protection and tempertur control and many other thinks. if I didnt catch something right pls corect me or ask if you have any Question

    The benefit is extra torque right? Benefits on high inclined roads or some of road. Cool video

      They provide better overall traction and power efficiency than RWD vehicles and are typically the most compact and lightweight system. They handle wet and slippery roads better than RWD and also less prone to oversteering,
      2WD provides the best weight distribution of all the options because you have weight from the motors in the front and rear. This gives 2WD vehicles excellent stability and traction for fast accelerations and handling wet and slippery surfaces. They’re the best option at handling turns, corners, and going up and down hills,
      When weight isn’t an issue, 2WD is the best option for balanced weight distribution, handling fast acceleration smoothly and going over wet, slippery roads. With twice the motors, you get twice the power output and better surface grip due to the added weight, making going up and down hills a breeze

    Hello. Thanks for your work and for share it! Can you help me? And tell me how many Volts needed on the front and on the back light of the bird 2 or B3!? Thanks!

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Рік тому

      For the headlight its 5v up to 12v that’s for both bird 2/3
      For the taillight on the bird 3 you can plug that directly to your battery pack and that’s it you’re good to go you have your back light.it will also work with 12v so between 12v and 42v for the bird 3 taillight.
      Bird 2 taillight is 12v . So for that you will need a step down converter 36 V step down to 12 V. And there goes your taillight!
      I remember reading in a comment that you can also use 5 V for your tail light 🤷‍♂️ . That may be true however the density will not be as bright.

    What's the top speed and what's the best set up to go the fastest with bird 2 , 3, es400 ?

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  Рік тому

      I believe the top speed will be the same as long as it’s 36 v your top speed should be around 27 mph ..the es400 will get u to around 30/31 mph top speed because the batteries are 48v , for me tho I’m satisfied with 30amps 500 watts , draining too many amps will drain battery quicker.. I noticed that when using a 38 amp controller . 30 amps is plenty

    Do you have any interest in a collaboration converting a Superpedestrian Link Scooter? Subbed!

      I had one a while back. I tossed it ! I do regret not keeping the battery pack 😭 I believe it’s 52 V ! Nonetheless, the link Superpedestrian scooter can still be converted using a aftermarket controller purchased from either eBay or Amazon , you just need the right tools

    I been watching all ur vids and i appologize if u have answered my?in another video. I have a couple bird 3s and before i get the controller im confused as to which to get. Do i need to buy the double controller setup? The other vids u only install one. Are u only using one motor? Does the dual controller only allow u to turn on and off or they only way to use both motors? Price is substantially different between a single and double setup. I was gonna get the 36/48 350 or 500watt. Havent decided. If u could steer me in the right direction. Hope all is well wit ya. Thanks for the tutorials.

      So what I did right here on this bird 2 scooter in specifics was add a front motor which is what potentially makes this dual mode with it having two motors.. now it only takes one brushless controller to run a motor. In this case are used 2 controllers. Why ? Well .. that’s because I’m using two motors , One controller per motor and to be exact both motors are identical (36v 350 13amps) .. be sure not to switch this up when choosing your controllers.. I noticed you mentioned something about 500 W , now those controllers are a bit bulkier so 2 of them Will have no chance sitting inside the bird 2 housing , not even the bird 3 scooter because these controllers are wide .. but I found a solution and I’m working on that now.. I did add a on off switch for the front motor that way it can be controlled independently. And even if I didn’t add that switch for the front motor everything would still be working fine. I add that switch so I can power off my front motor when I choose to

      Yo @pjscootermods good shit bro been wanting to do this for awhile but seeing you do this build reignited that flame for me bro so thanks. But after reading this guy's questions and reading your response I remembered the last I was researching and testing motors I was heavily interested in if I'd be able to to have a multiple drive system while but also if I could get any significant power back off the Regen braking and was curious about what the power generated might look like having power graphed out over time for a 2wd as well as when it's in rwd. Sorry long question just all starting to come back to me but at the time dc brushless were too expensive and somewhat new to the consumer market so never got to get any to run tests. But I just want to know whether you'd get like 10miles more outta the scooter I doubt it but it's gotta be at least 1-3 miles. And then you could even charge it by usage. Anyways just curious about your thoughts about regen braking dc motors and what you know or even looked into yourself. Thanks dawg appreciate the work and love the curiosity you've got. Really dig the no excuse attitude and just going for it need more men like that

    is it possible to just wire a throttle with display and make it work that way without having to rewire much of anything else?

    • @pjscootermods
      @pjscootermods  11 місяців тому +1

      No that original Controller has got to be reprogrammed, from what I hear the firmware is permanently locked. So you would need a brushless Controller to go with it.
