If people really think Metzen is going to magically change things for the better, I really have to question that mindset. While I do feel it might help shift things for the better, in the end its otherwise the same team that shifted the story to the way it is today. He isn't going to magically change the story telling and how it is delivered.
Chris Metzen isn't magically going to fix the launch of the expansion being locked behind a pre-order paywall. He isn't going to fix the lack of ambition and creativity of the modern expansions, that all apparently have to follow the same corporately mandated formula (8 dungeons, 4 zones, etc.). He isn't going to be able to fix the ever-increasing desire to monetize every aspect of the game, such as putting Trader's Tender up on the store, or forcing WoW tokens into Classic.
I think Chris showing up is just the final stage of cope for alot of people. There's just to much to fight to not make WoW not lame n ghey anymore. And I don't belive one man can do it himself. Recent history has proven that every time a man has tried to put something in it's correct path, they've been fired even if he is the sole reason for the thing having any success at all. Hence the witcher.
Agreed for the most part. Maybe it's more likely than not that Metzen can fix the story (despite most of the writers under him being incompetent. He'll have his work cut out for him making color-by-number scripts for all of them), but he won't be able to stop the bad monetization, or the bad system design decisions. I am so baffled at how they had this very late realization as to the objectively true basis for all the feedback given over the years, for like 90% of things, but for some reason none of that applies to an odd 5-10% of things that still retain all the previously garbage reasoning they've given. Maybe it's a few designers who still haven't gotten with the program, and an overall business structure that allows this diversity of perspective to just go unchecked. Sometimes you want diversity of opinion, and other times you need to hammer that nail sticking out.
@@deckofcardboard It's not just Metzen, it's Bobby Kotick getting shown the door as well. A one-two punch of better story direction and less corporate bullshit from Microsoft. It will never be the company it was but it will be better than the dumpster fire it has been lately.
Accolonn, you certainly have a _lot_ of faith in Metzen. After Blizz's endemic SA allegations, the revenge 'prawn' self-😵, setting up a literal Cosby Suite to bring female employees and fans to, & the -Homelander- Blizzard breastmılk theft scandal, I'm not so trusting in my past heroes - but I am cynically hopeful. I still have my OG Warcraft & Warcraft 2 box and manual, illustrated by Chris. I remember asking my Dad "What is a 'Metzen'? That looks like a troll." - "That's just a signature, son." - no one's ever accused me of being bright. 🤣 However, I don't know if Metzen can right this ship, especially if the corpos are only using him as a figurehead, whilst business continues in the background as usual. Maybe he can pull a rabbit out of a hat, _if he's given creative control_ (the upcoming trilogy seems to be an attempt at this) - but that _still_ leaves Blizzard's other IPs floundering; Diablo, Starcraft, & Overwatch et al, all need Metzens too.

Could you link the original video/it's creators UA-cam channel, in your VOD uploads pretty please?
React creators are leeches
Link to the original video or creator?
Burning around them and they brought a half filled bucket of water to put it out (Metzen)
Never forget Noctis was in Tekkan lol.
AI stuff like this scares me x.x
The only good part about DIV was the cinematics and the campaign.
Wait is there an actual cross promotion shooting game?
Yes, in Call of Duty.
world of warcraft was always one of the worst designed mmo in gaming history anyway...
Last minutes were full of copium
People actually really like the cod skins. I see people using them all the time. lol so anyone thinking it was a bad idea... Is pretty ignorant.
Of course it's good for the corporate vampires; most monetisation is. I don't think anyone is disputing that.
@@Naptosisso you’re calling CoD players…corporate vampires? Uh…what?
