No surprise. Gonzalo Quesada is a phenomenal coach. World class. He took the Jaguares to a Super Rugby final in 2019 and narrowly went down against the Crusaders in the final. They missed at least 3 clear try scoring opportunities in that match and on any other day they would've won that game. The attacking style they played in that tournament was absolutely insane. They beat the Hurricanes, Blues, Chiefs, Higlanders all away from home and destroyed the Brumbies in the semi finals by 40+ points. If they hosted that final in Buenos Aires the Crusaders didn't stand a chance. It's a absolute crime that Argentina rugby didn't appoint him as their coach. Italy will be a powerhouse in 3 years time. Mark my words.
The Italian centres were bloody brilliant. They’ve made some massive strides this year if you ignore the Ireland result. Scotland lost their heads after the disallowed try and their discipline went to shit.
Van der meuwe is a physical specimen but the kid can get bullied and pushed around rather easily. Once you have him rattled he kind of checks out a bit.
I am still crying since yesterday afternoon, it was fantastic, thanks to all the Italians Player. Since next year, we can win the six nations, italian's are young. We have also the Under 20 teams that are pumping good players too. If you consider one try more agains england and a kick more against france, also next saturday we could have win the six nations.
You hate the Scots ehh mate glad England beat you as a scot I never thought I would say that I use support the Irish I looked at use lads as our celtic brother but your all up you own holes use use to be pish at one point to lads stay humble bawbag 👍👍
Fair comments Jim. This result was coming. Just watching both Benneton and Zebre play in the URC they do exactly the same thing. They hang on in there and are bloody hard to beat. What is going to be difficult from now on is I think it was the coach before Crowley he reorganised the junior pathways and that started bearing fruit for the past couple of seasons. Scotland have been dreadful at this. Enough moans so well done Italy. Let’s see if you can do it again next week. I hope so.
It’s no surprise that the the national team are doing better now that the domestic teams are so much more competitive in the URC. The future looks bright with a good under 20’s team too.
Only the Media people ever talked about Italy in the Six Nations. The fans ❤ the trip to Rome every 2 years. Actual fans have supported Italy as the 2nd team behind their own
in Italy, in addition to football, we have a tradition of team sports, volleyball, basketball and swimming ball for both men and women at an excellent level.
2:58 Scotland do not play as a team. Its all about 2 or 3 prima donas...russell, VDM and Kinghorn. VDM only passes the ball if he has no choice, very selfish player and Russell will always look for VDM even if another player is in a better position. I wouldn't have either of them on the team.
As upsetting as it is i agree with every single point you made but to add a little pepper it seems to me as an englishman scotland put all their focus and effort into winning the calcutta cup instead of the six nations championship
Seeing what that meant to the Italians was off the scale complete neutral (or as neutral as one can be in the six nation) I though Italy were better on the day. Great game. Do England a favour and run Irelands season next week xxxx I think the idea of suer Saturday is brilliant for the game. Keep up the quality work.
Honest reaction, well done. As an italian supporter I can say "we are arrived" finally. Our team is the youngest and really talented with a plus of a new great number of young interesting players (U20 and U23) and a huge euphoria about the new "latin" couch. I'm quiete sure we will deserve our slot in the 6 Nations tournament now like never before. Good luck in Ireland. ❤🇮🇹🏉💪🏼
Italy stayed in the game as they did with France, which was the key to this win. If they are to be taken seriously in future Six Nations, they need to build on their last two games and go on and try to beat Wales away. If they can do that it will give their players belief/momentum for those future games/tournaments.
I knew after the Horne try was disallowed that we would lose this game as Italy were slowly clawing down the deficit. Well done to them, they thoroughly deserved to win. No leadership from Scotland and even worse discipline - they become penalty machines when there's any sign of pressure. There's a very strange mindset within this team that I can't put my finger on - maybe it has filtered down from the coach or maybe they aren't as good as they think they are. I'm tired of hearing about the team 'learning' from their mistakes because they clearly aren't. If the Wales game wasn't a wake up call then surely the France one should have been. They build up these leads and of course the opposition are always going to have their spell of dominance, but we seem to capitulate under any sort of pressure and then only start to play again when we go behind and look like losing. I wish we had an ounce of the grit and determination that Italy have and they are a team that will continue to improve. This weekend was good for the tournament and at least has delayed the inevitable conclusion to the last round of fixtures as it should - if there's any team I wouldn't back to cause an upset against Ireland it would unfortunately be Scotland, but I can only dream. Forza Italia!
Jim that game was chaos! Haha could have gone either way really mate, your lads have just had a bad run of not finishing it off. Still Calcutta cup winners though! Make sure you pay Goodie out for not backing England on the weekend! 👍
I will summarize the match in this way: a very good Scotland (less silly mistakes ball in hands than other matches) hit the Hadrian Wall and fainted on the floor.
Scotland have taken a step backwards in this tournament, over the 4 games so far. Italy have taken a huge step forward since the RWC and were well deserving winners but as a Scotsman, I have to say I'm disappointed with 4 performances that have left us looking at the bottom half of the table after next week's matches. We've yet to see an 80 minute performance
You say that Scotland are never going to be taken seriously unless they start winning, but it's not that simple. Scotland are not going to be taken seriously until they start selecting Scottish players and stop buying South Africans. They are not going to be taken seriously until they stop scouring the earth for players who might qualify to play for them and start growing their own. Scottish youth development is in absolute tatters and the U20 team cannot even guarantee a win against Uruguay, let alone make it into the premier league, so of course they look to the foreign born or foreign trained players because they are simply are not developing them. It is embarrassing when you consider that South Africans have scored 8 of Scotland's 11 tries in the tournament so far and a South African is soon to be their all time leading try scorer. It's not a good look and World Rugby even changed the laws to combat this.
Whatever it is that happens in the Scotland team talk at half time I have no idea but consistently Scotland goes missing in the 3rd quarter. Game after game after game they just go AWOL for those 20 minutes and it costs them dear.
Scotlands weakness is in the front 5. They lack a bit of heft that stops them controlling games. Their backs are what makes them good at times but its forwards that wins matches especially the front 5 imo
If there's any consolation, Jim, Scotland only lost by two points to a brilliant Italian team that are playing more attritional, percentage-driven rugby.
@8.38 I'd love to know what the rules are on that too. Shouldn't the clock be rewound to the time of the incident? Great game. Well played Italy - Scotland fan

Does this emanate from Gregor? Do we need a change of coach, but let’s face it there’s no great production line of talent coming through which the Irish, Italians and English have? Dark days indeed
I got laughed at for saying Italy would win a 6n before Scotland before the 6n started. im Scottish too. this year was literally our chance to get it together and we didn't. Italy were great tho, always been a fan :)

I'm Argentine and very envious that Italy getting Quesada as their coach.
Gonzalo Quesada is a great attacking coach. Jaguares played a very attractive brand in Super Rugby 👌

Capuozzo really took Van Der Meuwe out of the game.

@@frontierlandfrank5314and his defence is woeful. Great with ball in hand but he is found far too often out of position defensively.

Gonzalo gave Townsend the spoofer a lesson on coaching yesterday. Delighted for the Italians.

I highly doubt it. In Italy, people only go crazy for football and there are very few stadiums

I wonder if the Pumas regret not bringing Quesada on board... Italy has grown A LOT. The discipline, consistency and tenacity they played with.
The loss against the AB's at the RWC can be put to bed now. This was an epic win against a quality opponent. 😎👍💪
Thank you Big Jim . A win for italy was due this year but a Big respect to Scotland .. what a game !
italy's defense in the second half... wow. Capuozzo was all over harassing the scottish backline

The key , for me as an Azzurri fan is that we back it up now in Cardiff. I am hoping the magician that is Capuozzo has a repeat performance. Forza!!

I did support Scotland, but no more as there coach is very Arrogant. So pleased Italy won.

Scotland took thier foot off the gas again Italy played brilliantly
Well said….
Typical Scotland game start great then throw it away
Haha. Let’s beat up on Scotland. As salty as England Ireland and wales. But sad for you that your team lost. Love your channel
@8.38 I'd love to know what the rules are on that too. Shouldn't the clock be rewound to the time of the incident?
Great game. Well played Italy - Scotland fan
Scots took the pedal off they scored 4 tries and gave away stupid penalties Russell looks fat!!!
very good indeed - come of age
Well played ltaly
they beat wales last year- in wales- however...
I will say, Ali Price was not a positive substitute; he kicked the ball away all the time - so annoying and caused the team to become disjointed
2 minutes lost and no yellow card. Well deserved win for Italy
the 50 22 by Russel was not regular as the action start inside the Italian field, In that action you scored a try if I don't remember wrong

Can Scotland beat Ireland to win the triple crown giving England the chance to win the 6 nations?
No.

But the Italian Rugby Federation can't afford a 3 billions € bill in 7 yrs...! 😁
