Richard you're the man. You remind me of an uncle I fished with back in the 60's and he could fish the boys in the high dollar boats into the dirt. There are no fishing videos on UA-cam close to your quality. Thanks
You are the man Richard Gene! I have really enjoyed your videos. And me and my boys all try to go fishing when we can! We are lucky in Alabama to have so many places to fish

thanks for the boat tours....love them both....I have a 1985 Lowes that we bought in 1987...I redo it about every 5 years, put new floors and carpet and new seats....and it darn near looks brand new....keep it covered too...love fishing out of it too....for years just had two electric trolling motors and it worked fine...put a little 5 horse on her a few years ago and helps move around a little quicker, but on small lakes seldom even use it.....enjoy your videos sir thanks for sharing. you got a fan in Chuckey, Tn.
Another fine video production from the fishing machine. I really liked your set-up of the boat with the green astro turf. That is the perfect setup for a crappie boat. I enjoy your videos keep them coming . Ron
Mr. Richard Gene that is some fine rigging you did on your Jon Boat. I rigged out my 15 ft. Jon Boat very similiar to that years ago. I have a 25 HP Mariner and can go about anyplace i want to go. Don't have to worry about scratching it up.
Richard I really enjoy your videos down to earth and funny something we need in this day and times. Me personally I think you are a very good person who loves fishing and willing to share knowledge in this fishing game just wanted to say thank and tight lines.
Richard I'm glad you made this video my 10 ft tracker is just like yours I got a 2013 3.5 hp 4 stroke on it and it handles like a one man canoe a beast on the Mississippi river in big river wake I got some river footage in a video also I got plans in the future on getting me a 19 ft alweld but cant make my mind up so many brands
I know what you mean so many brands. However I have owned alot of different boats in my life and alweld is definetly the toughest and in my personal opinion the best aluminum boat that I've ever owned! thank you for watching southwest rider outdoors!
Hello Richard , ... I love watching your videos. I live in Kentucky just South of Cincinnati Ohio , not far from the river about 15 miles and we catch the same kind of fish here. Thanks for the tips .
Richard I am getting ready to buy a 2018 16 foot Bass Tracker . I have owned a handful of boats in my lifetime , usually big 20 foot gas guzzlers and High maintenance , kind of like Elmo lol . It has a 40 hp Mercury and is light weight . 12900.00 brand new from the dealership . I tell you this because I also am self employed and my hours can be crazy . Im a furniture refinisher out of Crowley Tx . Because of you videos after 8 years im going fishing again ....cause its good fer me !
Love watching all your videos brother I just got my first boat someone gave me a little jon boat it's 14ft has some holes I gotta get some welding on but I home to do what you have done on yours one day god bless you brother keep the videos coming
Thanks for the video, I too have the exact same boat/motor configuration and have mainly used it to run around the salt marshes here in Delaware and want to make it a little more fishing friendly.
I just bought my first boat it's a 20ft extra wide extra deep it has the same 20hp 4 stroke as you have I have monster rod holders on order lol. I have a 6 gallon gas tank and a big storage up front that's tucked away and a big live well in the middle that holds 10 20 pound flat heads it use to be my dad's boat but he got a smaller one since he likes to fish by himself
Just subscribe to you about a week ago I love how you are calm cool and collect and very polite and peaceful of the work you do you are awesome and keep up the good work just got my boat been fishing for long-time basically on bayous I love my cat fishing but you don't got me into white perch fishing you're awesome
Thanks for sharing, sir. You did an excellent job building your jon boat. I’m in the process of buying my first boat. I’d like to get something inexpensive and build it up like you did. What’s the length of your Jon boat and what do you recommend? Also, what are your thoughts on Tracker boats compared to Academy boats?
My duranautic 13' with 15hp Johnson costed me $1,200. One of the best deals I've ever gotten. The guy I bought it from had the plugs gapped at like 1/8" lol the motor barely ran. After a set of new plugs, she runs like new.
hey Richard me and a buddy will be down at Weiss Lake staying at little river marina the old Jrs . we're going to be doing some crappie fishing March 18 through the 24 . You should come out and do some fishing with us.
Thanks Joey. I thank you for the invite but i work 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day and my work hours fluxuate everyday. I go fishing the minute I'm able but as far as planned trips I can't commit.Thank you for the invite though. Let me know how yall do!
Man I can’t even afford a boat! I hoping and praying I can find something I can afford here in GA! Just need something for me and and my 2 boys to head out on.
awesome boats richard! hopefully soon i can get myself a 16ft or so like yours.. then i can start putting some fish in the boat, tough sometimes from the bank when they are out deep.. really not alot of accessible places to fish in guntersville from the bank..
I'm really liking your setup Richard. Very good work on that crappie boat..I do have a question though...I don't see it in this video but in some of your other videos I see a long flat bar looking thing with holes drilled in it laying in the bottom of your boat...What is that for?
It's just a homemade thing I use to mount my camera at different angles if I need it. I can lay it on the side of the boat at any point and then mount a pole in those holes to change camera angles
Richard, I don't know if you will reply back to me on such a old video! I live on lookout mountain near Adamsburg just up from Ft Payne AL. I have been watching you for a short time now but feel like I know you,my dad jimmy is the only other person I know with the passion for fishing that you have, I'm sure y'all have passed paths before on the water and at the docks! He has made it into his early 70's and can't get around as he use too! I grew up in a boat with him riding the turbines at wiss lake power plant and running Trote lines! Anyway hope to see you out on the water to say hello in person! And hope your son is getting better soon ☺️
are both trolling motors on both rigs just 12volt? Do you just run them off of one battery? If so, what kind of battery life are you getting each time out?
Love how simple, neat and clean all your stuff is. No frills just highly usable setup. Enjoy your videos
Richard you're the man. You remind me of an uncle I fished with back in the 60's and he could fish the boys in the high dollar boats into the dirt. There are no fishing videos on UA-cam close to your quality. Thanks
