I just found your channel. Love it. I've been guiding for 55 years. Your boat and trailer hacks are great. The foam around the wires and cables to reduce noise is genius. I can't stand irritating noises. The lights on top of the PVC on trailer was another. Thanks

Some good tips, and additional one for the phone: My android has a setting where you can voice command it to take the picture using a few different commands. That way you don't have to set the timer...I just open the camera and say"shoot" and its done.

Good ones....definitely going to use some of these. Especially the bumper hangers.
I got one for you...I run a stereo in my boat that has a small remote, go under or inside (or anywhere) of your dash and glue a magnetic on the opposite side of where you would like your remote to hang and then glue a thin piece of sheet metal to the back of the remote, keeps it from bouncing or sliding around and getting lost. Also glued a magnet under my motor cover (I have a 5.7L inboard) to hold it in place so I can control the stereo from the back when we are swimming and hanging around the swim platform. And yes I fish out of my 95 Sea Ray...I turned the walk thru bow into a casting deck with a swivel bass fishing seat and remote control trolling motor.

Great video. Good ideas. Just bought an Alumacraft. Plan on copying a few of your mods especially the gorilla glue. I always have a hard time drilling permanent holes in a perfectly good boat. I especially like the tool holder with little holes for lures!!. I would have bet a million dollars your grand finale would have been drum roll American Flag lol

just a side mote for #8 I believe it was. The insulation he uses is typically found by water heaters or copper pipe in hardware stores or HD or Lowes respectively. It's used for copper water line insulation and mostly found in 1/2" and 3/4" inside diameter (possibly 1" as well). Also I would recommend getting UV rated zip tips to extend the life before the plastic becomes brittle and comes apart.

    • @wisedog4
      @wisedog4 3 роки тому +2

Absolutely correct. I would like to add on that stainless steel wire isn't but a few extra dollars. Or chain link fencing ties. Wrap whatever thin wire you got mate the ends together and use your drill or an (L) shaped Allen key to spin them together. This would last a lifetime longer than any zip strip. And the same wire would pull the foam for a seemless segmented look. All you would see is foam and indents. I would be extra careful not to over tighten tho as you could chop the foam in half or even rip it. Be safe everyone and happy fishin!!! From Ohio

Hey trout whisper, thanks for the tips.
Great to see you enjoying your flyrod!
This is not a criticism, but you can really add to your fly casting enjoyment by watching some instructional fly casting videos. You could cast 3 x's farther. And your cast would not "weakly die". You would enjoy it so much more! And you could cast into the wind.
    1. Start your back cast with the rod tip, just in the water.
    2. Accelerate from 0 to a fast hard stop stright up at 12:00. Try to stop at 12, but really you will stop a little past, or so
    3. The (key) is the hard stop "with out bending" your wrist...!! This stop is where the true power comes from! Remember, don't bend your wrist until after the stop!
    4. Pause, let the line straighten out on your back cast.
    5. Now start your forward cast (same as the backcast) accelerate to a hard forward stop (high stop) at about 3:00 position. The hard stop causes the weight of the line to load the rod and spring/shoot the line forward.
    6. Not critical, but your bending the wrist is killing the power of your cast. Bending your wrist eliminates the hard stops that are "essential" for a loading/launching your cast. Just to give you an understanding....with proper technique, you can cast the entire fly line. Admittedly this takes Knowledgeable practice, takes awhile.
    7. Your best bet is to go to a fly shop, and sign up for some lessons!! The technique is both simple, suttle and absolutely "not" obvious and discernable by merely watching a good caster.
    8. With proper flycasting skill.....fly fishing is truly magical. And surface fishing is so pleasurable and rewarding. With a flyrod, you can have fun, even with little fish.
So now let me steal 3 minutes of your life...watch the UA-cam video "in search of the perfect loop" one of the worlds smoothest, tight, pointed loop casters you will ever see! After you watch this video, you will understand....
    Your friend
    just jim

All of your tips are great except for the covering of your electric and fuel lines. Very bad idea. Most boaters don't know how to or just don't do a safety check on their boat. If your fuel line starts leaking and you have it covered it will create a very bad situation. Same for covering up your battery to motor wiring. Covering your control cables is a good idea for that area but please don't cover your fuel lines for any reason.

A true true whisper knows where to catch the big trout in the streams and the small brooks where nobody else would thing to go or dare to take a boat. you need to remember to be called a ture trout whisper you need first to catch big fish like eleven pound rainbow trout. (yes I know places where I can catch them like that and bigger all day long. and no not at a fish hatchery either.)
