Frailty is so good. Heard about it for a long time and finally found the DVD a couple of years ago. Great twist and it reminded me of Dexter where you have a serial killer killing bad people and a brother vs brother storyline like the first season of that show.
This was such a great video. I'm going to have to sub to Cody, too. Love the collaboration and chemistry the two of you have, plus both your choices were superb. I loved Lee's honorable mention of Evil Dead (remake) which I genuinely think is top-shelf horror. Cody's Session 9 pick was also fantastic since that's one of my favourites.
Mr Nerdista Thanks so much. Yes I will always sing the praises of Session 9. Evil Dead is one of my favorite remakes and honestly depending on my mood it's sometimes my favorite of the whole series.

@@DrumdumsOfficial I just saw it last night and was super excited!!! I watched session 9 and although the creepy atmosphere & psychological standpoint was great for a horror film, but I was disappointed. It was very slow pacing with nothing happening til the end. And Even then it left it up to the viewer to interpret the meaning with no real resolution. I loved how you gave urban legend some love in your countdown👏🤗!! Remake of maniac is well done as well!
I was in a pub by me once that's next to my local theatre and I often meet the actors from the plays. Was speaking to this guy called Kevin and it turns out he was a friend of the director of The Decent and played a few of the monsters so it is a dude. Proper nice guy too,he also plays the lead bad guy in the film Doomsday.

Great video!!! And btw, if someone wants to see a very underrated horror movie, i recommend you see The Pact (2012), very underrated horror movie, imo, with some genuinely scary moments!!!
When I first saw or heard the mention of the “Maniac” remake, I confused if for a thriller, also with Elija Wood, called “Grand Piano”. Elija Wood’s character is a pianist under siege by a sniper, played by John Cusack, in the concert hall where he is forbidden to play one wrong note, or else he or others will die. I haven’t seen it yet, but it looks cool.
I grew up the next town over from Danvers State Hospital where Session 9 was filmed. As teens we broke in there a few times & it was creepy as hell. Literally a run down mental hospital with tons of equipment & shit still inside.
Great picks brother loved the strangers i agree that is by far the best home invasion movies apart from the first purge movie that movie was amazing as well. Ooooh high Tension that move is sick and twisted but what a great movie. This is awesome i enjoyed this video alot brother..
Man the first Purge had soooo much potential. I couldn't stand the son in that movie haha. He annoyed the hell out of me, but damn good premise, and liked that they kept it in the home.

you gotta check out the original maniac from 1980. joe spinell (who played gazzo in rocky) is perfect in the role, and the music and practicle effects are top notch. the big difference between the 2 is the original isn't shot in first person.

Also one of the best theater experiences I've ever had).

It’s been a couple years. Did you ever get around to watching “Frailty”? Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughy and Powers Boothe are awesome in this.
Yes I did. Absolutely loved it!
@@DrumdumsOfficial Lee have you seen the autopsy of Jane Doe? I wondered your thoughts on it. I watched it recently and really liked it.
@@anitaknight3915 Oh yes. Fantastic film Anita!
Great lists, guys...my TOP5 would be:
1. Maniac
2. It follows
3. Descent
4. Hounds of love
5. Martyrs
Super solid list!
I didn't know there was a remake to Maniac, saw the original on Shudder, loved it!

I just finished The Collector. I liked it. Curious to find out how The Collection will be. Did you guys see that one?
I've reviewed both of them. It might be better.
Good movies were mentioned but I would include Devil. Not a wasted moment in this great who done it. Brilliantly told.
Interesting. Haven't seen Devil yet.
i was listening to this while i was about sleep, and everytime the numbers came on with that scream, it hurt my soul
#5. Your Next #4. Evil Dead Remake #3. The Collector #2. 28 Weeks Later #1. The Descent. Honorable mentions Dawn Of The Dead(2004), It Follows, Jeepers Creepers, Wolf Creek, The Strangers, 30 Days Of Night
Are the creatures in the descent actually demons or just natural creatures??
No just underground creatures.
Drumdums yeah i couldnt stand the son either haha but loved the movie

Nice to see The Thing prequel in there!
I love the Thing and the Descent and they are similar in ways. Both have characters that feel fleshed out and real to me no matter how small their parts or whether I like them or not. Really enjoyable and can watch them again and again.
i liked that the thing 2011 explained what happened at the norwegian base prior to the original.
you gotta check out the original maniac from 1980. joe spinell (who played gazzo in rocky) is perfect in the role, and the music and practicle effects are top notch. the big difference between the 2 is the original isn't shot in first person.
I can't believe I haven't seen it yet. Love the remake.
@@DrumdumsOfficial if you got vudu, you can watch it for free on vudu with commercials.
I don't usually comment on here from a lack of taste of likable movies but you both did a great job on your picks
Thanks so much Emile!
Elijah Wood shocked me in maniac, he was excellent. I didn’t think this was his type of film. Enjoyed the remake over the original.

Also one of the best theater experiences I've ever had).
Fantastic list!
Oh, shit! Frailty is BRILLIANT! I love love love Bill Paxton & I've watched nearly everything he ever did.
And that remake of Maniac is absolutely high brow/arthouse! I love the gritty, nasty original. I love the beautiful, nasty remake. Easily in my top 5, post 2000.
I finally watched Frailty for the first time and loved it immensely. Paxton was the best. And Maniac would definitely make my top 5 greatest remakes list. Hmm....another video idea?
@@DrumdumsOfficial Hell yeah! I'd love to see you do a video of your top 5 favorite remakes/reboots. There are so many crappy ones that it is wonderfully refreshing to find those few which are done so well.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Yes, Frailty really surprised me. It has been years since I last watched it. I loved Bill Paxton. Big Love was a great showcase for Bill to finally be a "leading man," rather than just a character actor. He was such a gem!
Joy Ride is awesome and underrated af. I remember my friends watching this movie when I was a kid and me keeping my eyes closed because I wasn't allowed to watch scary movies 😄 Watched it later, loved it!
Out of my ranked list of every horror film I've ever seen, these are my Top 13 Millennial Horror Movies, in order from #13 to #1:
(I've decided to make a last-minute change and remove # 's 8 and 14 from mention until I re-watch them, it's been over 10 years since I last saw one of them and the other I just really need to rewatch to keep my opinions fresh)
#15: _Sweeney Todd_ (2007)
#13: _Final Destination 5_
#12: _A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night_
#11: _The Love Witch_
#10: _The Nightmare_ (2015)
#9: _Ginger Snaps_
#7: _American Psycho_

#5: _Jennifer's Body_
#4: _28 Days Later_
#3: _Suicide Club_
#2: _May_
#1: _Halloween II_ (Director's Cut only) (2009)
Really solid list, and love that you put RZH2 at #1. Love that movie.
Both of you had PERFECT #1 picks - AGREED.
I consider The Descent to be a modern horror classic because when it comes to horror I tend to be very much specific
Don’t Breathe was one of the last movies I remember having a real twist. Really freaky
I don't know really. Probably Let The Right One In, The Conjuring, REC, maybe Hush and Ouija: Origin of Evil, though I'll need to see the latter 2 again first.
Ouija: OoE was fantastic!
