Awesome, I love it when you make lists like this. You’ve got some great choices in there too. Halloween 2018, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Sleepaway Camp II, Friday the 13th Part 2... great stuff. I was never a fan of Happy Birthday To Me though.
Maybe if you’d get around to watching May it’d get onto one of these lists one day, even if it’s only a slasher during the last half hour. A fantastic look at what loneliness can do to a person... you’re gonna have to watch it eventually Lee, I won’t stop! 😂
For real though, I was not expecting this. Great list, very enjoyable video! Honestly, slashers are the best!

Love these Top 10 lists you do. I don't have any to add that weren't mentioned in the comments except maybe "the Pool" from the early 2000s. It was in the Slasher Movie Book so I got a copy and it was pretty good. James McAvoy from the X-Men was in it. I like that you mentioned Prom Night. It's got a great killer who moves fast and that makes that chase scene so great! Gotta watch your part 3 now.

And on the Bride of Chucky DVD commentary when Don Mancini and Jennifer Tilly mention it to him Dourif goes "You just ruined it for me. I haven't seen it yet."

Finally, another content creator that, is not only entertaining to watch, but also digs The Strangers Prey at Night as much as I do. So many people crapped on that sequel, and I will never understand it. Earned yourself a new sub, great vid, man. Btw, check out Sam Raimi’s Intruder ( 1989 ) for a little remembered and underrated slasher. Seems like it’d be right up your alley.

I agree with you on Friday The 13th Part 2. It’s one of my favourites from the series as well. In fact I have it tied with Part 1 as my all time favourite Friday The 13th movie. Some people don’t like the slow pacing of the first movie, but to me that makes the movie more suspenseful which makes the kills more impactful.

I remember seeing the first Friday the 13th at a drive in when I was VERY young. I remember being so mad because my parents left after the first movie and I knew part 2 was going to be shown after the first one. Friday the 13th part II is my favorite by far and yes, the window scene at the end STILL gets to me all these years later.

  • @SirHatchporch
    @SirHatchporch 5 років тому

    That's a great list, Lee.
I think "Child's Play 2" is my favorite of the franchise, too. It's really close between that and the first one. I actually think sackhead Jason in "F13 2" might be the creepiest Jason of them all. "Psycho II" really grew on me. I didn't like it much at first but I kept coming back to it over and over again and now it is a big favorite. But I love that whole franchise. "Dream Warriors" is not only my favorite "Elm St." movie but maybe my favorite slasher overall. I find it really moving, for some reason. "Sleepaway Camp II" is all about Pamela Springsteen for me. She's just so much fun to watch.
I'm seeing screenings of "Silent Night, Deadly Night" 1 & 2 and "Black Christmas" again this month in L.A. I'm also going to see "Christmas Evil" for the first time.

    • @DrumdumsMovieReviews

Part II Friday the 13th - excellent honorable mention. Great final act and sackhead Jason was a scary “killer in the woods” character - classic. Agreed with Halloween Michael Myers bring a bad ass. I gotta see blood rage and psycho 2. The sleep away camp films have really good death scenes. Solid list, Lee!

I don’t know if this really counts as a slasher but I always loved John Carpenter’s “The Fog”. Not very gory, sort of similar to the first Halloween, also by Carpenter, but since it’s a Carpenter movie, it’s super creepy and has a eerie feel all throughout, so I’d definitely recommend it!

Great Ranking! My Top Five Slashers (I cannot think of a Top Ten.)
    5. Prom Night (1980) (Yes, That is a creepy chase scene! So iconic. And Jamie Lee Curtis’ character is named Kim.)
    4. Child’s Play 2 (Such an awesome Chucky film! I find this creepier than the first one)
    3. Scream (1996) (I LOVE this film! In my top five favorite films ever!)
    2. Psycho (1960) (One of the most iconic films of all time!!)
    1. Halloween (1978) (I’m with you about your favorite film. This is my favorite film EVER!!!)
Honorable Mention: Halloween 2018 (I was genuinely surprised in the theater when I went to go see it opening night. I listen to that score at least once a day. And I got to meet James Jude Courtney the night after seeing this film at a haunted house, which was a freakin honor! This is such a great sequel, and I don’t understand some of the hate it gets.)
Honorable Mention #2 Friday The 13th Part 4 (This film was the scariest of the Jason series!! Just saying!)
    Great ranking, Drumdums!

I’ve been doing this thing where I take the time to watch the most iconic horror icon franchises. I finished A Nightmare On Elm Street series and learned that I LOVE Freddy. I have only gotten through 2 of the Friday The 13th movies, but I unfortunately haven’t enjoyed either one. They’ve actually bored me. I’m still going to finish out the series, but so far it’s just not doing it for me. Now just so everyone knows I love all horror. I especially love horror movies from the 50’s. I have been an avid horror fan for a very long long time. I love your lists and videos though Drumdum!!! Keep killing it!

Great list! Saw Happy Birthday to me in theatre and thought it was great. Melissa Sue Anderson was in another great made for TV movie in the 80s called Midnight Offerings. Not a slasher, but it’s Mary from Little House!
