Lee you forgot the Candyman movie from 1992
Awesome list you've got there. Some of my favorite modern slashers are:
No One Lives
Lost After Dark
Bloody Bloody Bible Camp
Hatchet (1-3)
Victor Crowley
Laid To Rest (1&2)
Blood Fest
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane
31
Terrifier
The Funhouse Massacre
My Bloody Valentine
The Town That Dreaded Sundown
Some good Christmas slashers, imo, are:
All Through The House
Secret Santa (2015)
Santa's Slay
P2
Once Upon A Time At Christmas
Awesome video, as always. Thank you ☺😎
I just bought The Final Girls On Blu-ray and I can’t wait to watch it! I agree that See No Evil 2 is way better than the first one! Why does Cody always complain about horror movies going too far with the violence? It’s a horror movie, isn’t that the point?!
Terrifier
MBV
Inside
Scream 4
F13 2009
Curse of chucky
Blackcoats daughter
Fender bender
The Collector is so underrated! I love it and The Collection so so much. I really wish I could get into It Follows, but I honestly hated it. I definitely have to try and rewatch it.
I hated It Follows, too. Very overrated imo
@@elphbwckd212 I know and everyone was giving it these high reviews glorifying it!!! I don't understand how it's so well liked.
Well you've gotta give them credit for trying with the remake black Christmas 2006 I thought it's alright but the orignal black 1974 was absolutely fantastic especially trying guess where the killer could be hiding I'm actually planning on watching this movie with my gf on Christmas eve
I actually did enjoy the Black Christmas remake, it was just such cheesy fun.
I love the High Tension mention!!! That’s one of my top ten favourite films ☺️
Hell yeah it's one of my favorite millennial horror films!
It's so good!
The Faculty also belongs on that 90s list. Maybe you're due for a rewatch of it.
I never got the hate for the Black Christmas remake. It's a very well made, high octane slasher with some really fun female characters. I get that it lacks the mystery/demure of the original Black Christmas but I don't mind because there are some great suspenseful scenes for example the car scene in the snow and since it was set in modern times it makes sense it's a more visceral film.
Would also put House of Wax remake in the top 10 tbh.
I hate the look
The 3rd Black Christmas is so ridiculously bad, that it’s hilarious.
Some people think I’m nuts to have the curse of thorn tattooed on me, and other people (who love h6) get it! H6 mafia baby!
Lee that was a great list no lie, but somewhat surprised not to see the strangers(2008)!
I love the strangers!
Still a fun video lee, take care!
I rank Prey at Night (on the last list) way above The Strangers, and I consider the first movie more of a straight up home invasion, whereas the 2nd is more slasher oriented. But both are solid. And I've literally considered getting a Thorn tat brother.
Drumdums ah hell caught with my pants down. Hadn’t seen the other two.
Yea brah join the cult. Haha thorn brothaz for life.
I Love Slashers! They Are Awesome!
Hatchet and jeepers creepers are really underrated modern slashers
Wouldn't call Jeepers Creepers a slasher. It's basically and animal looking for food. To me a slasher is a human stalking and killing.
@@iCarroller It does have a slasher feel though with the hunted type of feeling especially with the humanoid elements of the creeper
Awesome video Lee!!! Lots of great slashers you picked buddy. Cherry Falls and Black Xmas are very underrated. No one talks about Cherry Falls and Black Xmas gets so much hate. I love them both!
Thank you Justin!!
And i thought im the only one who enjoyed BLACK X'MAS. Good to know you like it to.
The Colloctor was great, I didn't know it had a sequel untill I mistakenly bought 'The Collection' at Mega Replay thinking it was the same film after watching the first one on Netflix years back lol, Jackpot!
Great Slasher list Drumdum my favorite modern slasher film is The Collection is a total badass brutal/ slasher movie the collector killer is a brilliant smart slasher killer great soundtrack great final girl and great hero this movie kickass and even Leslie Vernon is another smart Killer who awesome we need more movies with these badass killers there great underrated slashers killer great video Drumdum..
Thank you!!
YES DUDE! HIGH TENSION! SUCH AN UNDERRATED MOVIE! GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS MY MAN
It Follows is soooooooooooooooooooo overrated.
Great List!
My List:
Candyman
Scream
Urban Legend
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Freddy vs Jason
Halloween H20
Sorority Row (Remake)
Hatchet
Behind The Mask :Rise Of Leslie Vernon
See No Evil
Honorable Mentions:
Dr Giggles
Cherry Falls
Laid To Rest
Pretty awesome that you added IT Follows in the countdown too
I'm glad someone else knows about hatchet
Great list! And my next review is Candyman.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews dope, the first one doesn't get enough love
I totally forgot about Dr. Giggles. I have the movie too. It's so much fun and wicked! Thanks for the reminder.
Cherry falls has to be one of the most underrated horror movies. Brittany Murphy was amazing in it.
I just got done watching High Tension. Quite a ride. A French film in the Vein of Martyrs and Frontier(s). 2 other crazy ones.
Please tell me what do you think of maniac
Top 10 slasher movies part 4 (Giallo films) lol, I will say I like Silent night more than silent night deadly night
Black Christmas is getting another remake. Comes out in a couple of months.
Top 10 best horror movies of 2018 coming out soon? Maybe!?!?!?!?
John Donovan Oh yeah!
as a horror guru, thank you for mentioning high tension because that film is so fucking great and it has plot twist and the gruesome kills are incredible. I am pretty bummed that no one mentions HATCHET and laid to rest SMH. p.s. your killer flicks group is so RAD 🤘
Very cool list of modern slasher movies Lee. There were some definitely interesting picks. I liked that you mentioned High Tension. What a cool film! By the way, I've been watching some of your older vids of your drum covers. Just wanted to say they're awesome. Any chance of doing some more?
The problem I had with the black Christmas remix was the same reason as Halloween remix, gave a backstory to the killer and that backstory just wasn't what I want and the story just felt contrived and Agnes killer was wasn't great, but the characters are enjoyable and the kills were fun
I do agree that they went too far with the back story.
You ever see the christmas episode from tales from the crypt season 1? Thought it was awesome.
No I have not.
Lastkingof33
I love that episode! Tales From The Crypt is awesome!
Lee you have to watch it. I think you’ll love it too.
Drumdums you have to check it out! The episode is called All through the House, I think it’s episode 2 in the first season! Its excellent!
It maybe on youtube. He's missing out.
Lastkingof33 Yes it’s on YT! There are both - the movie version from the 70s, & the one from the tv show (which is the better one imho). That episode is a must see each December for me! It’s only 20 mins anyway!
Prom Night remake needed to do what the Terror Train Movie did, once Terror Train decided to not make Thora Birch's character named Alana like JLC in the original as they originally planned to do, they dropped the title Terror Train and just called it Train, so people wouldn't think it was a remake anymore. That being said, Train is just as horrible of a Movie, but I do remember it more than I did Prom Night! I did like the Black Christmas remake more than I thought I would, but am I the only one that couldn't look at Christmas Cookies the same for awhile after that Movie?
Another great Top Ten list! I am one of the few who really likes High Tension. I've mentioned this movie before, but a good slasher is Dead of Night(aka The Lighthouse) from 1999 with James Purefoy. It pits a villain against villains who have to team up with heroes to protect themselves. Well worth your time. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. I really appreciate them.
I love HIgh Tension immensely. I'll check out Dead of Night. Sounds interesting!
Great choices, Lee! I love them all....
Cool ranking. For me personally, The Collector was abysmal. The masked killer's brutality was over the top, the film had poor dialogue, characters were uninteresting etc. It's very important to have a likeable character that you root for in a horror/slasher movie (that you want to survive or get to know) and this film doesn't do that for me. I have to watch It Follows fully; i saw it briefly on television a few months ago and was intrigued by how different it is.
Yeah The Collector definitely has a super hard edge, and might cross the comfort line for some. I have to admit I do enjoy the premise immensely though.
David Robert Mitchell made a movie called "Under the Silver Lake" that played at the Cannes Film Festival this year, but the release date keeps getting pushed back so who knows when we're going to get to actually see it.
Yeah I think I heard something about this one. Definitely looking forward to it.
10 - Sleepaway Camp 1 & 2
9 - The Town that dreaded sundown (2014)
8 - I know what you did last summer
7 - Child’s play
6 - Kristy (2014)
5 - Urban Legend
4 - Halloween
3 - The Collector
2 - Wolf Creek 1, 2 and TV series
1 - Scream
Love the movie Kristy.
I liked Black Christmas remake.
I'm not requesting you to watch this film. But, you guys need to see "Monster Party". It's a favor for yourself if you didn't see it. Trust me if you haven't seen it. If you don't like it, tell me I suck.
That movie is pretty damn good.
I would like to give an honorable mention to an 80s slasher movie and killer that being Horace pinker from 1989 Wes cravens shocker. Great movie and great killer.
I haven't seen that one in ages. Need to check it out again.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews that would be cool if you could review it as well. It is definitely a classic one of Wes cravens best.
I watched that one a lot as a kid. I love when Peter Berg is yelling at the Cleaver’s for help. 😆
"I should warn you princess... The first time tends to get a little... Messy." -Freddy
some good movies there Lee..I just did my horrible review of Wolves from 2014..IM new to reviews and not looking to be super pro just want to give my opinions..but I do hope to learn how to get my thoughts across a little better like you do..lol..oh and High Tension was a great movie..and of course TCM remake with Beil ..the sexiest girl on earth.. :D
Loved High Tension or Switchblade Romance as i know it hear in the UK, brutal and although it doesn`t actually make sense i loved the twist
I love the twist too...and I think it does make sense in that the movie is from the mind of the killer, and she's not of sound mind.
I still have to see Cherry Falls. I first heard about it from you review a little while ago. BTW, have you seen other French Extremity movies like High Tension? Check out Inside, Martyrs and Frontiers. I think you'd dig 'em. Great list, Lee!
I have Martyrs and Inside in my stack right now. Looking forward to finally watching them.
Laid to rest is one of my favorite modern slashers
My favorite is definitely New Nightmare and I really don't hear that many people talk about it
I like New Nightmare, but Freddy is really uninteresting for me in it.
Silent Night has quickly become one of my favorite slasher movies of all time I love it to death and I really could not be happier that you put it on this list even if it's an honorable mention anyway you have a great day Lee force be with you my friend
10. black X'mas 2006
9. See no Evil 1-2
8. Scream
7. silent night
6. You're Next
5. Halloween 6 curse of mm
4. Friday the 13th
3. Strangers prey at night
2. Tcm 2003
1. My Bloody Valentine 3D
Great video, I totally agree with you on the Collector. I wonder how much more acclaimed this movie would have been if it came out before Saw. I think a lot of people would have brushed it under the torture porn category without giving it a chance. I also felt it had a strong sequel.
Another solid slasher was All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. That was pretty decent.
Dellboi's Boxing News yes both the collector and it’s sequel we’re great and lots of fun... and I loved Mandy lane. That movie has such a crazy story with them just trying to get it out. I believe it was shot back in 07 or 06 but I didn’t see it until I found it on UA-cam back in 2010 or so and then it actually was released just a few years ago which is so weird cause it’s good
Agreed. Both Collector movies are much more than just "torture porn". They actually have strong slasher elements and a solid killer.
I love The Collector so, so, soooo much! 😍 SUCH an underrated movie!!!!
mads the collector is AMAZING 🥰

@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Thanks! It took a while to come up with it lol.
Oh, I just realized A Quiet Place and Bird Box are not slashers, so I'll take them out of the list and replace them with Psycho 2 and Saw, respectively. I don't know how I forgot about those 2 movies, but #20 and #33 seem suitable for them.
@Zak Playk. A lot on your list are not Slashers. Final Destination, Final Destination 2, Hellraiser, The Descent, Bird Box, It Follows, A Quiet Place, Hostal, Jeepers Creepers, Phantasm, Phantasm 2, Don't Breath and Saw are not Slashers. Bird Box, A Quiet Place, Don't Breath and It Follows are Post-Horror, Saw and Hostal are Torture Porn, Jeepers Creepers and The Descent are Creature Features, Hellraiser is Body Horror/Sci Fi Horror, Phnatasm and Phantasm 2 are Fantasy Horror/Sci Fi Horror and Final Destination and Final Destination 2 are like a hybrid of Supernatural Horror, Torture Porn and Slasher, but I still wouldn't call the Final Destination films Slashers because those films have no real killer.
@@nu-metalfan2654 Don't care. They are like slashers to me.
10-) Black Christmas 2006
9-) Rob Zombie's Halloween *2007*
8-) Friday The 13th 2009
7-) Hatchet
6-) Scream 4
5-) Wrong Turn 2
4-) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003
3-) You're Next
2-) Halloween 2018
1-) Saveged/Avenged
Great list!!
Drumdums Thanks Lee :) Maybe a Part IV in future? Maybe this should become a Frachise...
I definantly agree with this list for the most part . I love i Know What You Did Last Summer,Freddy vs Jason,Black Christmas Remake even Halloween 6 but in my list it would also include : Scream,Urban Legend,Sorority Row,My Super Psycho Sweet 16 (the first one) Cult of Chucky ,Wrong Turn 2 , Final Destination 2 , Valentine and My Bloody Valentine 3D
And Halloween H20
Yeah I could do 2 more lists honestly!
Hey bro sorry I've been MIA on your videos Lately I've just been super busy. I haven't forgotten you though LOL, just a question nothing more I thought that the modern era was considered anything from 2000 and beyond, I wish I could agree with you on your number one but I hated that movie it was such a final destination rip off the only difference was instead of death being the killer it was sex it just was so boring. But that's just my opinion nothing but love and respect bro
Honestly I don't like I Know What You Did Last Summer at all. Cool video though 👍 👍 👍
It fits firmly in that glossy 90s slasher vibe. Not for everyone. I'm super picky with those myself.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews true but to me, it feels like a poor man's version of Scream
A little trivia for ya........the killer in I know What You Did..........is the guy who played Mike Franks on N.C.I.S......Muse Watson
Freddy vs Jason is my favorite. That big fight between them was straight up Mortal kombat
5:14 #10: I Know What You Did Last Summer
6:01 #9: The Collector
6:50 #8: Halloween: Curse
8:11 #7: Black X-Mas
9:58 #6: Cherry Falls
10:41 #5: You’re Next
11:57 #4: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
13:01 #3: Freddy vs. Jason
14:15 #2: High Tension
15:33 #1: It Follows
FINALLY someone talking about The Collector. i stumbled across that movie accidentally and instantly LOVED it. love the list and agree mostly! also, for a controversial opinion, i adore the texas chainsaw massacre remake with jessica biel. it’s one of my favorite slashers ever. it may even slightly top the original for me.... don’t hurt me lol.
I was expecting to see Joy Ride or Jeepers Creepers maybe. But, I'm glad to watch your take on some of these classics too!
Yeah those are definitely worthy candidates.
Final girls is an entertaining ass movie lol
Oh definitely.
The town that dreaded sundown (2014) should be on here. I feel like it’s super underrated
I freakin' love that movie. Reviewed it this year actually.
Drumdums the twist at the end was so cool. And I liked all the kills in it they were really different from most slashers
His Ranking:

7. Black Christmas (2006)
6. Cherry Falls

If Silent Night isn't Ricky and the same story. I don't follow. The Final Girls was a great surprise. I didn't know it was PG-13. It was great. When the girl takes the Adderall. LMMFAO
Some Modern Slashers that were also GREAT: "Identity (2003)" - "Turistas (2006)" - "The Hills Run Red (2008)" - "Sorority Row (2009) (Come on, it's fun), "House Of Wax (2005)" (Also Fun) - "Wrong Turn (2003)" and the sequel "Wrong Turn 2 - Dead End" (The unrated version, please) - "Cry-Wolf" was also very entertaining and I didn't see the twist coming. The Comedy Horror "Club Dread" was also pretty absurd and a Delight! And the 2014 Horror Musical Slasher "Stage Fright", It's also GREAT.. I know It could have used more kills.. But still very entertaining, and the musical aspect doesn't bother and some are very good. :)
The new leprechaun movie is out today!! Lol its a sequel to the first one supposedly. I bought it to watch tonight 10 bucks not bad.
SORORITY ROW,HELL FEST,YOUR NEXT,DARK RIDE,SILENT NIGHT,URBAN LEGEND.BLACK CHRISTMAS,STAGE FRIGHT,SEE NO EVIL,THE STEPFATHER,HATCHET,VALENTINE,CURTAINS,BEHIND THE MASK,SCREAM 2,EYE OF A STRANGER,PROM NIGHT 1980,MY SOUL TO TAKE,LAID TO REST,HORSEMEN,WHEN A STRANGER CALLS,CHILDS PLAY,
My favorite from the last 20 years was a Norwegian movie called Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt - 2006) - great dead of winter setting. One of the more gruesome I've seen was 100 Tears (2007), done on a shoestring budget and apparently all of it went to gore effects. Opera (1987) was another great Dario Argento offering that I preferred to Tenebrae. Since you added It Follows, which isn't really a slasher, I will also suggest Resurrection (1999).
For the honorable mentions I like and own both Silent Night and Final Girls, but I was disappointed in See No Evil 2 and I'm the opposite I thought the first one was better. Considering that the Soska sisters directed it and Danielle Harris starred in it I found it lackluster. Didn't think it was as good a slasher with the same premise like Cold Prey 2. But as always I really enjoy your passion, enthusiasm and love of the horror and fantasy genre. Slashers are without a doubt my favorite genre of horror films. As far as my top ten best modern slashers In no particular: 10. The Collector. 9. The Collection. 8. Laid To Rest. 7. Halloween 2018. 6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 5. Charlie's Farm. 4. Silent Night. 3. Carnage Park. 2. Chromeskull: Laid To Rest 2. 1. Cold Prey 2.
Some to add: Cut, Dentist 1 & 2, Leprechaun, Martyrs, Mothers Day, Mimic, Scream sequels, Stay Alive, Santa Slay, Spirit Camp. And two for the 70s list Frightmare & Killer nun.

MY FAVORITE SLASHERS THE BURNING, THE PROWLER,HALLOWEEN 2,MANIAC YOU'RE NEXT,SORORITY ROW,URBAN LEGEND FRIDAY THE 13TH FINAL CHAPTER ,ALONE IN THE DARK,JUST BEFORE DAWN ,STAGE FRIGHT ,PIECES,MADMAN,SLEEPAWAY CAMP ,SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT,NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET,SLAUGHTER HIGH,THE DRILLER KILLER
If Sharni Vinson was the final girl in the first film of all the iconic slasher franchises, they probably wouldn't have BECOME franchises in the first place 😂
I just don't like the fact that we are going into reboot remake territory. They may be a different actor playing them. But Jason is still Jason. Michael is still Michael. I think that should be a DQ.
Check out 'President's Day' from 2010. Great killer. Great kills. All practical effects. Some good nudity. Love the killer's mask and overall look. Love the 80s look and feel to the movie. Love the soundtrack. And I honestly didn't see the twist ending and killer reveal. I was very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended. I think you'll really dig it.
Hey Lee. I subscribed to Shudder because I heard you and Cody talking about it. I'm a little disappointed in their collection because they're inconsistent with their Halloween movies having only 1, 4 and 5. And there are no Nightmare movies. These movies are so old so I don't know what the problem is. Okay, I'll stop bitching now.
Love the list. Girlhouse would be HM and loved ones is close. Black xmas and halloween 6 underrated. Rz Halloween 2 and 2018 any of 3 could take 1 halloween spot
Idk how you qualified it follows for the list but not jeepers creepers
It Follows is in no way a slasher. Also, not a great movie, but that's just my opinion. However, it is a supernatural thriller, not a slasher in any definition of the word.
Fan-fucking-tastic!
Ok, we've already spoken about your #1 😂 but as for the rest of the list, I dig the shit outta it.
Still need to see Final Girls (I ignored it as it looked too comical) but I keep hearing it's good.
The rest are all excellent. Great video! 👍💀🔪
P.S. Get ready for the other slasher nerds to call You're Next a home invasion movie. It caused a fun argument on Twitter a while back. 😁
High Tension, really??? It appears to be a good movie but the twist simply doesn't work...at all. Candyman should be in its place.
Where is jeepers creeper? That movie scared the crap out of me when I saw it in the theaters.
12:30 Hoyt is one of the best parts of the remake and its prequel. He's got some great lines like when he's wrapping up the suicidal hitchhiker's dead body and he goes "She's kinda wet down there. What have you boys been doing with this dead body?"
Anyone else here not care that much for Urban Legend or I Know What You Did Last Summer?? It’s not like I disliked them, they just weren’t as good as I imagined them to be
You know there is gonna be a Halloween movie in the list, lol .....Drumdum so predictable....
Just finished You Might Be The Killer on Shudder. Really enjoyed it. Felt a lot like The Final Girls in that it paid respect to the slasher flicks of the past. Unlike The Final Girls though You Might Be The Killer does not skimp on the blood and gore.
My number 1 favorite slasher is Halloween 2018. Its sick and I watched it 2 times in the theatre and 2 times online lol. Also you should check out You Might Be The Killer. Its a unique take on a camp slasher and there is a nice twist. Awesome review!
The problem I have little black Christmas remake is that Agnes's is the killer which I didn't like, I like the mystery of Agnes in the the original. But, I was fine with Billy having a back story but I felt like they said way too much. As a fan of the original, its ok. Its at least entertaining.
The Black Christmas remake is so iconic. Michelle Trachtenberg really should’ve been the final girl. I don’t know a horror movie with better cinematography.
Great choices. I completely understand what you mean about freddy vs jason. It's actually the first movie of either franchise that I ever saw. It was on syfy channel with cursed and I recorded it and loved it and now i love slashers so that's why I love that you talked about it.
Just re-watched all three slasher lists Lee, great top 10s and I am now thinking of watching all the movies for Halloween month in October, Drumdums slasher fest lol. thanks mate
the collector and the Collection are great, I prefered the sequel for some reason I think there is a third coming out called the Collected. also unrelated to this I'd loove if you, foundflix and dead meat did a three way interview, it is one thing id love to experience before I die, my three favorite horror movie related youtubers in one sitting \m/ >o< \m/
When he mentioned I Know What You Did Last Summer the line when she said what are you waiting for just do it did anyone else think of scary movie the principal jumping off
I like when it's revealed that there are 2 killers, like in Black Christmas first remake. And also like Hell Night.
I thought you ripped the black christmas remake before and put it on one of your worst? I haven't watched it and feel if I do it may kick me in the nads lol
if you like Katharine Isabelle then you should check out Ginger Snaps
Halloween 6 gets better every watch for me
Hell yeah!!
I agree with u the Texas chainsaw massacre remark is much better than the original 2 me the original is just alot of screaming there is much more action and gore in the remake and yes u meet his family and why leatherface is the way he is
Plz keep doing these
I will. Just recorded top 10 2018 horror!
I like freddy vs jason but its shame they didnt do the sequel with bruce Campbell ash from the evil dead
No Wolf Creek? There’s 2 movies and two seasons of the show, each with a unique take on the slasher genre.
