I’m with you on the arthritis as I have it in both thumbs. It can be a painful operation just racking the slide because of the arthritis. Been thinking about picking up a 43x real soon. Might have to put on one of these plates.

I went to the range again yesterday..... finally and had a lot of fun shooting..... I noticed racking the slide on my Glock 26 was stiffer than before..... but you know as you age, and I'm 70 now..... somehow your hand strength goes down as your age goes up.... if I had an MOS Glock now I know where to buy a useful optic cover

We sure miss you here in San Diego Lenny. What a loss for the guns and shooting community here in San Diego when you decided to move to Tennessee. But we sure understand and don’t blame you one bit for moving out of the most miserable anti gun state in the entire country bar none. Just thankful we can still access you and your great store on line. I hope the gun community in Tennessee appreciates what they have in you, your employees and your store. Keep up the great work Lenny and all the best to you and your family.

My hk has little things on the side of the slide that make it easier and she liked that but hk doesn’t make a smaller gun like the 43x I told her I would probably buy a Glock if I had to do it again just cause there are so many parts and accessories available for Glock that aren’t available for HK . Naw. I actually added a Glock Slide Charging Handle to the back of my Glock 29SF because I prefer not to carry with a round in the chamber.
If I am wearing thick winter gloves in freezing weather, I want to be able to pull my conceal carry and reliably rack the slide with minimal effort.
I also have arthritis that can act up really bad on occasion if I don't maintain an anti-inflammatory diet, and that makes my grip strength significantly weakened on some bad day mornings. I'm 27 yr old male and I love having the attachment.
But I also have a Thumb Rest Lever to help mitigate some of the 10mm recoil from using high-powered loads in a compact form factor. In addition, I run a 4.5" barrel on my Glock 29SF that has been ported on the upper portion to divert gasses upwards and aid in recoil mitigation and reducing time between follow-up shots.
It's around 40-60% less recoil every shot depending on if I am firing a medium or hot 10mm load.

Lenny, I notice that you use a thumb and one finger to rack a slide. Why not use the technique that Glock teaches in their Instructor program? With the firearm in your dominant hand, place the palm swell of the non-dominant hand against the slide BEHIND the ejection port, and the four fingers against the other slide. This gives you the strength of your ENTIRE hand to manipulate the slide, rather than a thumb and half a finger. Quick, efficient, and WAY more controllable. And as well, the "slingshot" technique is just plain stupid.

I drop my gun too oftern ( only takes one drop) to run a red dot or halo site. Its gonna break if it hits just right. I dropped my ruger max and it landed on the back side of the grip at the lower rear magize. Mag fell out bottom plate of mag came off ,bullets everyware .worst of all the spring that runs along the back of the mag ,inside the grip, brok off at the top. A cheap plastic pin is all that holds it. My gunsmith said that should never happen. He fixed it with a metal securing pin. Said now it wont happen again. Bad engineering by ruger folks.

Or you can replace that 30 pound recoil spring with a 10 pound spring and it will not only be easier to operate it will reduce recoil and muzzle flip. All the Glock experts told me that will never work but it works like a champ with zero feeding issues.

You could also just remove the recoil spring.
