On Moto Control channel you will find videos about motorcycles, motorcycle riding techniques, tips & tricks and online motorcycle training for beginner and advanced riders!
A little info about me. My name is Andrei Bodrov, originally I'm from Moscow, Russia, and now I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back in Moscow I was a motorcycle instructor and creator of Moto Control Beginner & Advanced motorcycle rider courses, which quickly became the most popular courses in Moscow (well, at least the advanced one😁). My advanced training course makes emphasis on slow speed riding techniques at first (such as good clutch and throttle control, proper riding posture, proper use of vision, etc.), then proceeds to more advanced techniques (such as aggressive braking, trail braking, maximal lean angle). The course incorporates a lot of exercises from DOSAF slow speed riding (similar to police rodeo like motorcycle training in USA), braking and cornering exercises and motogymkhana style riding. And now, since I actively learn English - I decided to post some useful videos for both your and mine practice!😉

I think all instructors should watch your video. Maybe not all riders, but all instructors should. Seriously.
Guy from Germany here. Found this and think it is a gem. Already helped me to improve my slow speed riding.
MY Friend..YOU ARE MY TRUE GUIDE AND INSTRUCTOR..I LEARN FROM YOUR EVERY LESSON..I AM GETTING CONFIDENCE AND EXPERTISE YOU ARE SO KIND,SO FRIENDLY AND EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT AND MASTER OF SKILLS
I really appreciate the way you teach. Congratulations for your logical approach which accompanies lots of explanations
I like how ur videos are short yet very informative and has easy to follow exercises to do.
THANK YOU Andrei. Super clear instructions and easy to follow. You are a natural at teaching!
YOu are an absolutely fantastic instructor. I followed your advice this a.m. ..and got it down perfectly. That part about the clutch having an effect on the full lock swivel.
I love your videos. Very sophisticated & instructional. With the circles, it would be informative to mention that you are shifting your weight to counterbalance to the opposite side of the lean; but not for the larger bike. It reminds me that I need to incorporate more of that with mine. Thank you for your motivations & inspirations.
Thank you for this one! Helps a lot 👍
Just being slower for a full lock turn from a stop makes it so much easier to hold.
This is the best video on this I have seen. The contradiction between turning the handlebars and applying countersteer can be very confusing for a new rider and this clears that right up
Watched few of your videos, your information are always spot on and always on topic without any non sense talk like some other instructors. Beside no instructor explained what to do with the clutch when turning except you, although English is your second or third language..Thank you sir.
Hi Dear Bodrov, you are wonderful friend and sincere teacher..I learnt everything in the lessons delivered BY you
Gaining knowledge of what to do, how to do it and why it all works the way it does, has been really useful to me as a new rider. I can now do full lock circles after a couple of weeks riding and my skill improves every day because i know what to practise and how. Brilliant videos with inspiring skill demonstrations and fun dialogue. Your English is great by the way! Keep them coming.
Thank you. Very easy to understand and not too complicated.
True indeed. I forced the handle once to a full lock while during tight circles and I dropped the bike when I should have simply reduced my speed further. Thank you for the very clear instructions.
Your English is great and your videos are as well. Love the freeze frames to capture the point you're making. Thank you.
Thank you, Sir. I am a new rider. I know that learning how to make these tight turns will greatly advance my riding skills. Thank you for your instruction.
I really like watching your videos. You can tell, when you watch them that you are very experienced instructor. I wish I could have you here for a few days to give me some personal lessons.
Please, keep making more videos. I must have watched probably over 100 of different videos and some of them are also really good ones. But for as a beginner none of them seemed to be as good as yours are. But that is just my personal opinion. You do not only speak to my mind but also to my heart.
Thank you)
Great video - I've not heard some of this advice before. Will try this out.
Thank you for your advice and creating this video!
Hi, your explanation is excellent and very detailed, it sounds so easy to achieve, it's still hard for me to achieve it 100%, I'm sure it's mainly because of the confidence in making the turn, thanks for your video.
Much thanks from America! Excellent information. Helping us all become motorcyclists.
You are my favourite instructor 🙏
Thank you, this is very good advice. 👍
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
Super explanation my friend Andrey👍 I'll be practicing the slow ride for clutch control first. I'm planning to apply for the M1 motorcycle license here in PR later on. Thanks 👍
One of the best videos, Thanks
Loving your videos, thanks from Ireland 👍
Wicked great instruction awesome instructor
simple and clean. thanks.
Can’t thank you enough for your instructions, it’s really helping me gain confidence and control over my bike.
Very great instructions 👌
nice video you seem like a very nice person and a good soul my friend! Im giving exams for my first and last motorcycle license (all CC class A license) because im over 24+. I find myself struggling a bit to start moving the bike (fazer600) while full lock turning. I think that all I need is a bit more practice. Love from Greece
Great instruction thank you
Great Info!
Great instructions!👍🏽
Great video good n easy to under stand thaks
대단히 감사합니다.ㅎ

Brilliant!
Very nice video and very helpful 👍 👌
Excellent 👍🏻
Excellent video
Excellent instruction! New subscriber!
Very nice video!
Excellent Video. Keep up the great work :))
Great video!!!!!
Greetings from the pprc great video as usual thanks for doing it for us.🇺🇸🏍
Best Moto vids on UA-cam
Great vid, although slow turn vids leave out 2 essential points. 1. Throttle control to keep the rpm steady at about double of the idle rpm. It's a skill by itself, and not easy. 2. Different type of engines have different power at low speed, e.g. inline twins are quite weak, and need very subtle clutch and throttle work, while V-twins are bitey at low speeds
That tutorial was really helpful... Love from India 🇮🇳
Спасибо большое, очень полезно 👊👊👊
Learning a lot from you these days! Thank you very much! You are a "dobby tchelloveck"!
Good Advice 👍😜 Respect from Steve In Australia 🇭🇲🕺🍹
Best video
We love you bro
Thanks for the information.I will try using friction control to turn the bike rather then only depending upon the throtle. My question is how we can do this in auto gear/gearless motor bikes where there is no clutch only left and right brakes
Thank you sir, can't wait to work on these skills. Which supermotos do you ride?
Very much enjoy your videos. Not as easy as you make it seem though. Question. I have access to grassed flat area to practice. I figure it may be advantageous as I am likely to drop my bike when practicing. However, is a grass surface suitable? I can find paved car park but fear dropping the bike, eg on learning full lock turns.
Sehr gut!👍🇨🇭
I bought your course and watching all your videos for more knowledge! best wishes from Iceland :)
Very true: Stop looking at the ground!!! It will only making you dizzy and fearful of falling.
I have already fallen two times while trying u turn from a standstill on my sports bike, and once while trying to come back onto the road (from a standstill while having a pillion behind). And turning the bike while the handles in lock position seems like a nightmare, because every time I fell my handlebars were a little tilted.
Two times, the clutch was engaged(i pulled the handle completely), third time I had it in friction zone but still fell.
I can't say much because counting the number of days I've ridden will amount to 4 days.
Great videos. Need advice.
How do you stop when making a turn from 80 kph? As you are going to turn around and ride opposite way? Having hard time braking and turning into small space and stopping.
Turning your shoulders with the bars is as fundamental as turning your head👍🏼
The best bike instruction channel on U tube by far .... stop the war and I'll willingly pay your monthly subscription.
Thanks! Of course, I'll go take on old dictator with 2 million private army. Just let me check my save/load button!
The u-turn from a stop position the bike wants to go strait very heavy, what can i do to stop that? Thank you!
Very helpful video again, thank you! I'm going to practice this to get my license quicker. I have a question. I see that you are leaning towards the outside to counterbalance when you are doing very sharp circles. Is this necessary for u-turns or only when you are doing very sharp turns? I am very curious how much I have to manually counterbalance the bike, or if that will happen automatically when in good control of the friction zone. Thanks again and keep it up!
Hi! Counterbalancing is not mandatory for tight turns, but can be useful sometimes. I usually suggest start using counterbalancing after you get used to full lock turns.
Let‘s goooo!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
When you practice these drills, are you giving steady throttle and letting the clutch out, or are you just letting the clutch out and letting the idle speed take it?
Good videos sir! Question, is counter balance applied while doing this full lock turns? Thank you!
Hi! It's optional, you can use it if you want, but it's not essential for this exercise
Nice video! I'm training day by day; for some reason I stiffen my arms when I feel that the handlebar is close to full lockout.
That's just the natural reaction, it'll disappear after some practice time!
@@MotoControlEn Thank you! I noticed when turning left I struggle to relax my arm as the steering closes, as I feel the need to rest my hand on the handlebar to modulate the clutch. I drive a honda cbr 500; I finally wanted to ask how long it takes to learn how to turn smoothly as in the video. Your ride is wonderful; thanks again, greetings from Italy.
You should immigrate to the US 👍🏼
What is the white gear you wear?
Thks i learnt a lot from you. How much lean is safe? I guess another way to put the question is how tight of a u-turn is possible at max lean? I tend to not be able to fully commit to the u turn on narrow roads and straighten the bike worrying that it might be too tight.
Hi!) Maximum available lean angle depends on current road conditions, tires compound, temperature, bike's geometry, body position and suspension quality. However, in most cases bike's lean angle is limited by its ground clearance. Check your pegs, if they have any type of removable slider - you can safely scrape them (if you are comfortable, of course, and on dry clean pavement). Furthermore, if we are talking about manuvering in confined space - usually (on public roads) you can't reach speeds which require critical lean angle. On slow speeds how much your handlebars turned have greater effect on turning radius than lean angle. Hope it helps)
@@MotoControlEn Thks a lot for the clear answer! I feel more confident to push my limits during training now. I guess once i master slow speed tight u turns, ill be able to judge whether its feasible to do tight u turns on certain narrow roads.
My bike is a Hona Rebel 500 (CMX500). The specs say that the turning radius is 2.8 meters! That seems unusually small compared to what I experience on my bike. Is it possible to go in a circle with this radius if I am in full lock? I think it is unreasonably small.
Andrei, I can do this with smaller bikes but can’t seem to get it right with my vtx1800… I’ve done it with a couple street bikes but the weight of the vtx beats my clutch release reflex. Any suggestions?
Yes, actually I have a couple) 1: practice more; 2: practice full lock turn from a stop. This exercise forces you to use clutch properly since in full lock you can't steer. Don't forget to add some throttle, vtx1800 demands a little more than most heavy cruisers are)
Sir - I am a little muscle bound and I have having a very hard time looking over my shoulder. I was wondering if higher handle bars might work better? Thank you
Hi! Depends on your current handlebars, if they are clipons or low bars, like on Ducati monster or s1000r - yes, higher bars will probably help. If they are already high enough for you to sit straight, without leaning forward - even higher bars will not help.
Silly question but what are you wearing and does it come in black? 😆
Andrey, you took the flexibility and suppleness of rider's neck for granted. Many middle and above-middle age riders cannot turn their neck as much as you do. Physical fitness (especially flexibility of neck and spine) is essential in mastering maneuvers and not getting hurt in accidents. Very helpful video as usual....Cheers
Well, I have a lot of 50+ students. Never stumbled upon insufficient neck movement, believe it or not)
@@MotoControlEn great bunch then...
Do you thing practicing your excellently explained techniques on a 125cc is going to help with doing it later for the test on a bigger bike e.g. 650cc? Or does the bigger bike handle so differently you might actually build some unhelpful habits that will need unlearning?
Yes it's going to help! Actually it's the very common thing when people self-taught to ride 125s, develop some habits (like relying too much on feet to prevent bike from tipping over, relying too much on body weight shifting, etc.) and then transfer these to a bigger bikes, where they don't work. So yes, you can use techniques on 125 and they will transfer to 650 right away:)
Why is it more difficult to turn to the right than to the left??
Is it a nuckear reactor behind the place
Just a regular fossil fuel powerplant)
Why is right u turn harder than left? I’m finding this, a lot. Is there anything I can do specifically to help my right turns? I need this for UK Mod 1. Great video, thank you.
I always thought that it's die to the right hand traffic, but it seems that people from UK also suffer from it. So now I think it's just some strange human brain properties, seems it prefers left hand turns over right:) And what can you do about it - just practice right hand turns a lot and pay attention to the technique. It's going to require some time, but there is no way around it.
@@MotoControlEn Thanks for your prompt reply. I think at least in my case, having a strange brain is correct! I did wonder if it's because I'm worried that I will change the throttle without meaning to when pulling on the right hand bar, but I think your explanation is the right one.
@@MotoControlEn No matter what country you live in, the throttle is always on the right. Maybe that has someting to do with it ?
@@Paul58069 Maybe!
I am a thin guy and i am practicing on pulsar 150 and the question is should i have to be fat to u turn properly
Love your all videos your channel is so underrated
No, you don't have to be fat. Now I'm interested what your theory of body mass and u-turn correlation is)
@@MotoControlEn i mean sometime if i try to u turn from a certain place..bike feels so heavy like i cant handle that weight.
I see now) That's why you need good clutch control. When you feel like tipping over - just release the clutch a little. Bike will accelerate and become stable again. This way your own strength/weight/height doesn't matter.
@@MotoControlEn thank you so much for your suggestion and reply will love to watch your video more so please can you do video on rev matching? I still dont get it
💪🏻👌🏻
Thanks, going to practice this morning.
loved the nuclear power plant in the background. I love the Russian people.
He lives in Argentina you fool 😂
4:30 you are right turning right is harder dunno y
Which city do you live in?
Bro you're a Motorcycle Ninjah
Why is turning right more difficult ?
Because you're turning the throttle
This is one thing I cannot do I keep feeling like I'm gonna tip over..
Hi, Sergi, Please give me your school cordination to train with you😊
Zia Shinwari
What's up! I'm in Russia, so I really doubt it)
@@MotoControlEn how I can contact you ?
ashton-brown@mail.ru
it is ok i found your website so i can take contact with you !
In russia motorcycle rides you.
Excellent instructional video. Just wish there could be more Russian input on international platforms but why have you a leader that sends young men to an early grave for his personal mis-conceptions?
Because he's a thief, a murderer, a war criminal and a piece of shit. More interesting question is why he's still in power? I have no good answer, unfortunately.
@@MotoControlEn Good to have you here on the Net my friend. Lovely U-turns by the way, it oozes profession!
