Just bought my first e-bike. Got the JW Black with extended battery! I just wanted a bike for exploring trails not daily commuting. A foldable bike was a must because I want to store it inside my apartment and transport it in my car
@@ChrisCrossedI’m excited but still waiting for it to arrive. It’s been about a week. If you order the extended battery they also throw in accessories including fenders and a rear storage rack
I assembled mine out of the box this morning. No instructions, but i didnt need them. The hardest part was plugging in the display. Im old so it probably took me a half hour to assemble it. Tires were aired up already, welds are very nice. Lectric is only 200 miles south of me, in Arizona. I ordered mine on Friday afternoon, got it by Thursday morning. I love the street tires, hydraulic brakes, big headlight, everything. I didnt want the belt drive, chains are good, and fixable yourself. I dont need suspension, or want it. More weight, more to go wrong. Ride safe!
I just ordered one today. I wanted Sandstorm, but I didn't want to wait another month. They had the white one in stock, good enough. I can always paint it later.
Whites OK. Really, the color doesn't matter that much. As long as it's not blue, ha ha. It's still in the box, I'm riding my other ebike. I ordered one after work online on Friday. It was here Thursday at 11am delivered to my work. Stoked!
@@ChrisCrossed I finally unboxed it this morning, no instructions in the box. Not needed, even an old man had it together in a half hour by myself. I wanted street tires, knobbies wear quickly on the street, street tires can last a few thousand miles, knobbies 1,000 miles. The handlebars are much better too. Ride safe!
@ChrisCrossed I really appreciate you replying back. I'm old and alone, so it means a lot to me. I just passed 100 miles on my white xp light, 30 miles on my newest one. Everything is good. Between my 3 ebikes, I try to pedal 60 miles a week. im one of the 500,000 happy customers. Keep up the good work, Thanks again.
Thanks a lot. I bought a white one today, middle of August. I wasn't going to wait a month just for the color I wanted. They had black and white. White is tolerable.
@ChrisCrossed Thanks, I've waited 2 years to get one. I'm over 66 now, and now is the time. Hopefully, I will have it next week . I have an ebike already, so the wait won't be bad. Ride safe!
@LouBettino It'll be very good. I was going to wait for another month for the sandstorm color. They had white or black only in stock. After 2 years of waiting for the upgraded XP Lite, I ordered a white one they had. It's going to be a great peddler for me. I currently have a 4 inch fat tire folder. It'll be my 2nd ebike to ride. Probably get it delivered next week. No hurry. I don't like pre-order on my CC, charging interest. I'm retired, and still working. Next summer I'll buy another one. E bikes are the future.
Thanks for your honest review of the XP Lite from an owner. Too bad the belt drive is only available with the black frame. I think this will be my next ebike......I just bought a Maverick pickup too, great minds think alike!
My first new ebike fat tire folder, was only available in flat black. I didn't want black, I wanted orange, or red, green, anything but blue. It helped the stickers on it were orange. Once it gets dirty it looks better. 👑
We all saw you blow through those stop signs. lol But seriously I’m going to swap over the mods from my original Lite; my DavidBrandNew FX folding stem and 9” rise BMX handlebar and Ergo grips, my Suntour suspension seatpost and Selle Italia Drifter seat, my Suntour suspension fork, my after-market crankset with full size pedals, chain tensioner, and larger chainwheel to reduce ghost pedaling, and my ElectricAllWheel dual battery balancer with 10ah battery giving a total of 24ah. It will be heavier, but way more comfortable and cool with all day battery power. I will miss my chrome finish cable operated hydraulic brakes and gray color 2.4” street tires but the new brakes and tires should be better performers.
I noticed your comments on adding the larger chainwheel. I've only been able to find a few Facebook users that made this upgrade. What size did you go up to? Did you have to replace the chain too? What speed will your Lite pedal at now? Thanks in advance.
Subscribed , how’s the leg extension %? Lil hesitant to get it , I’m 5,10 32 inseam & I like riding long distances & sometimes ride w/o power to save battery or when I run out of battery, lmk , also if I can swap seat post to a larger or longer one , thanks
I find it's the best rider at pas 2, and then using the throttle to assist it further as needed, like up hills. It rides best that way at around 15 mph. Leaving it in pas 3+ on level ground is just ghost pedaling it.
Very nice upgrades to this bike! Great combination of price, capability, and size. I wonder if Lectric will have to raise prices in response to the upcoming tariffs. Really hurts the profitability and value of e bike companies and will slow adoption.
Chris, Thanks for your e-bike reviews. I picked up a used XP Lite a few months ago and enjoy it. I'll probably buy the Lite 2.0 later in the year. My only complaint about the XP Lite is the current 52/16 gear ratio topping out at 16 mph. I think the XP Lite would be a bit more enjoyable if I had some pedal left to cruise at 16-18 mph. To increase the gear ratio a little bit, I've considered upgrading the front chainring to a 56 tooth or even a 58 tooth gear. You've done a lot of work on your XP Lite, as well as tested a number of multi-geared bikes. Have you considered upgrading the gear ratio on your XP Lite, or are you satisfied with its current gear ratio?
There’s def ghost pedal at higher speeds on the Lite so the Xp 3’is better for pedaling. Having said that I ride the lite mainly in pas 3 anyway and it’s fine. Just depends on your use case.
I'm so torn with what I want. I don't know if I want the belt drive or not. I don't have issues with chains and stuff now, maintenance isn't hard on them, and the chains are way easier to replace.. The belt would seem like a hassle if something happens to it.
my 2003 harley davidson superglide sport was belt driven and never had a single problem with it and it was rode for over 75,000 miles on open mountain roads , including the dragons tail in North Carolina, belt driven bikes are the way to go, trust me.
would it be possible to put a sensiq 3 gear sproket on the rear alongside a bolt-on derailer? i can notice there IS some space there for at least one or maybe even 2 gears in the rear
I was going to, but it doesn’t ship until July. Plus affirm would only give me 18 months payments. I got a nice scooter for $600 and 24 months to pay on it, on my doorstep next week.
I have the original xp lite in lectric blue. Do u see a big difference in pedal assist for 1, 2 & 3 pedal modes? Just put over 2000 miles on my bike. Thanks
