Yeah first show after Ken left I was skeptical. That lasted about one song after that I had to keep reminding myself it's not a 20 years younger KK who found a time machine (in an 80s movie).
Richie is personable, down to earth, and extremely confident in his abilities. Richie use to converse with me on Twitter, when he had his Twitter account, and that's how I got to know him--my sheer pleasure!
It's so cool that guys that are creeping up on my parents age (Rob is almost exactly 2 years younger than my parents who are both 71), and although they were in their 20's through the 70's and like rock music, they weren't much into the really heavy stuff. Whereas, it amazes me and is FUCKING AWESOME, that the bands I grew up listening in my teen years in the 80's, are still around playing this stuff! Saw Priest at least 1/2 dozen times since the Turbo tour(more after their reunion). Another band that amazes me and are now my favorite for the last 20 years is Saxon! Still putting out albums every couple of years and touring to boot! They also got heavier. Was fortunate enough to see both Priest AND Saxon together a couple of years ago! Biff and some of the boys are in their later 60's now too!
Judas Priest have the best 3 metal guitarists ever, Glen, KK, Richie. Enough said the best METAL band ever existed, noone comes close, raw power, just perfection, chemistry at maximum level, best metal frontman ever, best voice of 20th-21th century, best metal rhytmic section, noone will ever be so hard, heavy, their music is all about pure metal sound. Legendary band. Full package.
Judas Priest se ha ganado un puesto en el Olimpo del Heavy Metal internacional por mérito propio. Constancia, creatividad, frescura y, sobre todo, el saber estar.
August 1st 2015, Wacken, Germany. The evening started when I saw Sabaton performing my dream lineup and 15 minutes after they got off stage Judas Priest came in, and the live was simply amazing. Anyone that was there and saw the show could clearly tell that they watched a legend in front of their eyes. I'll never forget that night. ever.
BlackWylde299 Sorry folks I grew up with the Flynig V man the legend the technical prowess that was only the mighty KK Downing. I can't believe they pushed him out so they could get a cheaper younger second fiddle player/ follower for Glenn. It really sucks the British Streel live at the Seminole really shows him at his absolute best. Richie's is just a second rhythm player. Sucks.
I like KK too. But Richie Faulkner is one of the very best guitar talents out there. To deny that is to just close your ears, eyes, and mind. Frankly, KK can't hold a candle to Richie in talent. There's no comparison, really.
Completely out of reality. KK decided to stop due to his age and because he got tired of touring, which is absolutely normal. Imagine being 60+ and having to perform solos night after night. At 60 we will need assistance to drink our pills. Richie is a great guitarist and performer and this version of the song was one of the best live. So keep the flying V in your heart but listen with your ears.
I've been listening to a lot of Priest, Maiden and AC/DC lately and all of them are still at the top of their game, into their 60's. The fanbases for each are pure fanatics and for good reason. They have stayed true to who their bands are. It's good, honest heavy metal and heavy rock...
I was born in 69 so I've been listening to these guys my whole life. Having a rough day, crank up some JP. Metal fixes everything. What more can be said that already hasn't about this legendary band.
These guys ARE THE KINGS! if you're really into Heavy Metal, then you'le appreciate that Judas Priest was the true 'Metal' band that shed the blues and created the image of studs & leather! Yes, Really! & that's not to mention... Twin guitars from Downing & Tipton...RHYTHM & LEAD Metal Guitars.... Total Respect....Metal Gods!
I allways enjoy watching what little is of Ian Hill it is to see, i hold him as the Grand dark master of the band, Jedi-like figure, allways in the back keeping it all together. Great respect for him. Btw, this version of the song is up there, on top
I’m been in Richie Faulkner’s fanclub page, and I’m cheering him 100 percent, before I used to learn guitar when I was 17 years old but I quit when I’m finish highschool, I’m start to come back and learn guitar just because Richie is my Idol, and guitar hero

It's mind blowing how great they sound, all these years later. Ritchie is flawless on guitar!
I absolutely LOVE how Glenn points in respect to Richie after his solo… a TRUE LEGEND!!!
I loved that too.
Glenn was the one who had the final say in Ritchie joining the band no doubt, Glenn knew he was a stellar musician. I love them both so much.
