I've been to about 12 concerts and Judas Priest is the only one that I thought sounded better live. Their live play made me enjoy songs of which I didn't like the album version. Tracks played by many of my other favorite bands sounded distorted when I heard them live. Priest is in a class by themselves.
Took my 16 year son to see Priest a few years ago, it made me happy to see my metal loving son rocking to the same music I did when I was his age..Priest forever!

Saw them in San Antonio tx in 1978 they tore down the roof off The Municipal Auditorium anybody remember. Rock on Oscar Garcia de puro San Antonio rocking

My son and daughter-in-law went to a concert this past week. My son told me "they played your favourite" me "Turbo lover?" yup so he sent me this link. Still love it , good driving beat, though my knees and hips aren't what they used to be the feet can tap the beat WOW
It's amazing what age did for this song. Long time Priest fans HATED this song and video when it first came out. Now it's the centerpiece and highlight of the show.
I think the problem initially was the introduction of a new sound in the "turbo" album. A sound that was heavily relying on synthesizers and other forms of electronic music. People were really critical and worried about Judas Priest becoming an 80's synth pop band. But it was heavily overblown. In the end this is still Priest. The double guitar solos on turbo were some of the best from their entire catalogue. And the instrumentals in general were far beyond anything in 80's synth pop/edm records. And deep inside it still kept the vibe of Judas Priest. It was just expressed differently.
I swear as a fan of all the albums, they all sound different yet sound priest. And now they've all aged well for the stage decades later to be molded together like the metal they are.
I really love the Turbo album, the whole thing is tons of fun. But yeah you're right... A lot of people really hate on it. It's nice to see so much love for it these days as it's one of my top Priest albums. I think it still sounds very Priest, a little different but still, almost all their albums sound different.

I never was into priest for many years. I just had a couple of greatest hits albums. Decided to give them a spin. I sat down and listened to them closely. I could kick myself in the butt. This is and always was a great band. Now I own 17 alumbs by this band. Point is always listen close never know what you will find.

I also feel like he's wasted in Priest - he could easily be the lead guitarist in any band yet has to fit in alongside Glenn here. Anyway, I can't wait to see his influence on the new album!
Sad that KK is gone(He was the guitarist that made me wanna play guitar) but Richie took up the mantle very well. Im glad he does his own thing while respecting the original material, better than trying to be a Clone and making himself seem sorta sellout-ish.
Faulkner is doing a great job musically and stylistically and is also offering some "young blood", he openly engages with the crowd, hypes them up. I'm happy for KK, I hate traveling for business and living on the road, I can't imagine doing it to the extent they, or other bands, have...but one has to make a living.

I was fortunate to see them one last time at the Midland Theater in KC in 2016 when Glenn was still playing. Richie was great and Scott Travis is a badass drummer. Ian Hill underrated. Rob Halford totally badass. Unbelievable show!
