Treasure At An 1800s Homesite Metal Detecting NC

We returned to the 1803 homesite and farm field to search for more lost history... and we were not disappointed. It was a nice day for metal detecting treasure at the 1803 homesite using our Minelab Equinox 900 metal detectors.

First find is a big brass rivet.

I found a LOT of rivets in that field. This is much heavier and thicker than a standard leather/rawhide rivet. It looks hand wrought.
