- On a road trip, I decided to take a rest stop and do some metal detecting at a small school in Pecos, Texas. Clearly this tot lot has never been detected before so I scooped up the bonanza and scored piles of coins using the Minelab Equinox 900!

We would rather our history be enjoyed here and not covered up with parking lots, sadly the Federal govt will allow train tracks, housing and golf courses to be built over historic trails and towns, but I face federal crimes if I metal detect those same places.
@@TexasReaper1836 very true. Most of us do this hobby to preserve history and they destroy it. It's a archeologists vilify metal detectorists, we should get along. The reason may be that we prefer to dig holes using a shovel instead of a paint brush.
