- There are so many study locations on campus!!! There's a great mix of practical, modest spots, and then others that fit the Gothic aesthetic of many other UChicago buildings. Some are more dark academia, like Harper, others more light academia, like Mansueto, and then some more minimalist like Crerar; because they're all very distinct, it was so much fun to tier rank them. Honestly, the libraries are probably one of my favorite things about the University of Chicago, because they make it so much more enjoyable to sit down and study! After testing out the most popular study spots at UChicago that are currently open to undergraduates, Karina and I wrote down lists of pros and cons so that we could tier rank them. Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss when we tier rank the cafés on campus later this year!
Thank you so much for watching and have a great rest of your week!
about me 🌷
I’m Makayla! I’m nineteen years old, a first year at the University of Chicago, and a Creative Writing and (prospective) Global Studies double major.
Some of my favorite pastimes are reading, cooking, writing, violin, ping pong, and studying. I have an older brother, step-siblings, three dogs, and I grew up in Maine.
I’m a 5w4 INTJ and in love with Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, and Sherlock, so I can always talk about these all day long!!

awh thank you so much!! 💕
whatttt i love the reg so much!!! great vid
What I quickly realized watching this is you two have spent more time in one year in libraries than I did throughout all four of my college years. Fun video - cool idea!
Thanks so much!! 💕 And it was definitely strange because of the COVID regulations and reservations we had to make but I’m glad we were able to do it!!
Dude I hope Hallowed Grounds has opened back up since this video because it's really sad to see it relegated to a study space and you guys not knowing what it was supposed to be! It was probably my favorite cafe on campus because of its grunginess haha. Plus very comfortable couches.
Lol! This brought me back. Crerar was actually my favorite go-to study spot. Sometimes Harper or the Oriental Institute. I would never consider going to Ida Noyes to study. Mansueto was after my time. The only reason I would go to the Reg was to sleep.
I was thoroughly invested in the best study spots even though I go to school multiple states away. Great video :)
Thank you so much!! I miss you ❤️
Give me a beer and a bench in the cloister hall over at Saieh Hall, and I’d be set. It was still the Theological Seminary back in my day, but if I go back there for grad school it would be high on my list of places to check out. Cheers!
I haven’t been there yet but I’ll have to check it out!!
ISAC is underrated
You are really good at vlogging.I love your videos. You should buy a a new camera like Fujifilm x-t4 or sony a7iii
cinda okay 😅😂
That’s probably my favorite part of this entire thing haha!!
Did not know Mansueto was Erudite HQs in Divergent. Very cool
I was so irrationally excited when I first found out that was where they filmed!
