- In this video I show you what university of chicago dorms look like as I move-into my dorm room. I received a single room, but double rooms, community bathrooms at campus north uchicago are all featured! I also included a short dorm haul with essentials ☻

This video has always hovered at around ≈5K views and I'm not sure what magic (honestly it's probably the youtube algorithm) occurred, but suddenly this video is active again! Quick thank you to everyone who watches patiently it really makes me super happy :)
**So why am I not uploading more UChicago vids and instead Oxford vids now?**
The Oxford videos are temporary -- In all honesty, I get the most questions on Oxford PPE, but UChicago videos perform the best on my channel. But I figured I won't get another chance to post about Oxford, so I would get them all out, then be able to focus on UChicago.

I live in Chicago but have never seen the dorms and wow they are so nice compared to other prestigious schools
100%!! Though I'm not sure it justifies being the most expensive school in the world now.... :))
itschloetan I read on niche that they are really generous on financial aid, is that true?
Jessie Li yes they provide 100% need based financial aid so u basically just pay your efc from FAFSA. On top of that they don’t include loans in their financial aid so u literally only pay your efc which is pretty generous. Nobody really pays 85k except maybe international students and rich kids like bill gates son lol

I’m class of 2023 and somehow got a single in North on the 5th floor, so this was scarily helpful for me 😂 I’ve been trying to figure out what to expect when I get there, so thank you for making this video!!

Finally, got a chance to take a peek at the new dorm. Thank you for the video. The single looks roomy. The furniture is a little disappointed. My daughter lived in I-House for two years. Seems the room in the new residential building is bigger,but I-House offers more furniture.

thanks for your video! I lived in North during summer school two years ago, and the sound insulation was really bad so I didn't get any sleep after 1am in the last days of the summer school when everyone was hyped. as a upcoming freshman I am really looking forward to get a single in Snell if possible (fingers crossed)

Chloe Tan, very interesting video, if you can make other videos on how to do laundry (schedules etc). On the question of nutrition (canteen colege or do-it-yourself kitchen). Also if you can talk about the brotherhoods how to choose them and how to join them. Last thing if you can talk about the best way to take a shower, use the toilet (best times for showers, teeth cleaning, files for toilet use and related problems). Thanks Laura. 21 years Italian and future freshman in college.
These dorms are so tiny, but look so comfortable. when I get a dorm, I’m going to have to get used to the size, since my room is really big.

Thank you for sharing this. It is a dream of mine to come to this school and study molecular engineering however, I'm not sure that I can get in. Yes I have perfect grades in honors classes, but I have Aspbergers, ADHD, OCD, and terrible social anxiety. I have no friends what so ever. I usually spend my days on the computer coding. I never go out. I have been tested and was told that I was extremely bright. I was told I had the capacity to go to this school.I feel that I am not that bright and this is a dream beyond reach for me. Now, you are a bright one indeed and I commend you for sharing this video as it makes my dream seem more realistic. I'm only in 10th grade, but I feel like UChicago would never take someone like me.
Hello! This is semi- late but I am a senior in HS and I just wanted to say that as long as you begin to take AP/ DE courses and you get good grades in them and do extracurricular activities are worthwhile and show them that you have an interest sooner rather than later, I would say you have an amazing chance. Just be strong and have faith in yourself and slowly come out of your comfort zone. No one ever got anywhere staying in their comfort zone :) Sending love, hope you are doing well!

I was in the group of students that got established in a satellite dorm and then moved to North. None of us liked it. We thought it felt/looked like a hospital. Interesting to see that other ppl feel otherwise. Was class of 19’ for context

It doesnt matter, they're both great. North is more modern on the inside.
I applied to renee first. North was my second choice. I’ll be fine with either honestly.

Ahh when I went on the overnight, I was in Thangaraj! Would you recommend north campus for housing? The application opens tomorrow and I will most likely put north as my first choice, but I also really like Granville Grossman.
Whit Khalifa I put North first and Renee second!! I really like both, but North's 15th floor 24/7 study room tipped the scales for me ♡ have fun with your housing and LMK any other questions!!
I live right across the street next to campus north while I was at UChicago, all graduate housings are poorly monitored by police...there were several robberies and trespassing issues since they don't install any access control devices or hire security guards for us....

This video showed up on my recommended just hours after I learned about how UC is at the heart of a social-justice takeover plot of all higher-education institutional doctrine. I don't really know how I can look favorably upon "the algorithm" now.

Christopher Todd nope!! private bathrooms are a luxury - max p has ones that are shared between 2 or 4 people (see my max p move in vlog for a tour) and Snitchcock has them too; South/Renee and North only have communal ones, except for apartments!
Don’t forget about the unisex bathrooms!!! They’re private! I used everyday I lived there
so I am thinking of going there, but do they have sorority?
Kennedy Brooks yep! there are 4(+1) sororities at UChicago: Theta, AOPi, DG, PiPhi (+Alpha Delta Sigma Pi)
Do all dorms have this layout?
most dorms at UChicago have their own style, this is North Commons, which is one of the largest dorms! Though I will say that the average dorm quality at UC is pretty high :)
Is this uni haunted ? Did you or any of your friends ever have any experience while staying here .

I could never live in a dorm, I would die, even in a single, sharing a bathroom? No thanks! I need my own kitchen too, lucky me I´m not in the US, and college is free so I can get an apartment. And I can drink at 16/18 so that´s cool too, and I don´t have a mad president and free health insurance. Ok, conclusion: Europe rules!

@@kellyb1070 once I graduate college I'm planning on it tbh I hate it here lol
@@miele6963 I´ve never actually been to the US, the Dominican republic is the furthest I came, on the other hand, I´m 16, so for my age, I´ve travelled a lot. I´d recommend the UK, of course, if you only speak English, I live in France and it´s kinda cool, nice cities, Paris sucks, but the south is great, we do like cheese and bread, I don´t like cheese, I´m weird about that but I do like frog legs and slugs. Switzerland is the best country for taxes, but you do have to pay for college there. The Netherlands is great if you want to live in a big city with clean air because nearly everybody just drives a bike there, and they are good at English, unlike french people, but living there is not very cheap in terms of food, Germany is better for that, they are also great for Football, but not the American one. And then there is still Spain, beautifully sunny and relaxed. Finally, I´d not go to for east because the countries there haven´t been in the EU for very long and are still broke, also Russia is quite intolerant.
