- The F-150 gets some changes for 2024 but something remains the same. Under the hood of this Lariat trim is a 5.0L V8 that produces 400HP & is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Coyote the BEST V8 powered truck?

The best thing about the F-150 is you aren't forced to go high trims for the coyote V8
Chevy GM offers V8 in all trims too
@@fit4ya1975rather take the yote
You can’t get the V8 in the higher trims. Lariat is the highest trim you can get the V8 in.
Building a 5.0 STX Blackout trim, extended cab. Adding Whipple Gen 6 795 HP supercharger, heated seats, remote start, Ford Performance 1.5"/2.5" lowering suspension/Bilstein 5100 shocks, Borla Touring street exhaust, aftermarket wheels, front lip spoiler for less than this Lariat. Will look even better than the (Same color) and have TWICE the power. First V-8 since 1982.

I have a new f-150 4wd 5.0 and didn’t really think much about it until I put it into sport mode one day almost by accident. These trucks absolutely boogie if you want them too. The craziest thing is how good it sounds.
They're okay.
Piped in sound… I heard !
@@archief1963 I thought that was only on the turbos. I have a 2.7 and am about to trade for 5.0.
3.73 gears and it will really boogie.
Love this guy.
I had a 2014 FX2 Sport with the V8 Coyote engine for 10 years (275,000 miles) and now just purchased the 2024 Lariat with the V8 Coyote engine. I never thought that there would be a better truck than my 2014 FX2 Sport, but this 2024 truck is amazing. This new one has a self driving mode. Best trucks ever!
A really nice rig. Less things to go wrong with this V8. Sadly, I've been priced out of any truck out there. For those who can pull the trigger, congrats and drive safe.
I have this truck, 2023, love it. The V8 doesn’t just sound great, it’s super smooth too, much smoother and better paired to the transmission than the v6 models.
I think what you need is a exhaust for it then it can sound very good
@@adriandelatorre let's say if you manage to find the right one in a sea of options that only make it worse, then it might close the mile wide gap to a HEMI by an inch, or maybe two if you're lucky :S
I Have the 24 XLT with the 5.0 coyote similar to this truck with the Iconic silver metallic exterior color & black appearance package, (love the truck) i ordered the rear wheel well liners from Ford for $210 (used my ford rewards points to pay for) only takes 20 minutes to install very easy, I’m very impressed with the 360 camera system & also the ford blue cruise on the highway, the interior quality & ride quality has improved over the 4 earlier model F150’s I have owned previously!
I have the same set up you have…love it! Skipped the Ford Bed spray and got Line X to do it. And ceramic tint. Be safe out there!
@@Kevineades61 yes definitely, I’m doing the Line-X spray in bed liner through the dealer w/discount & the Ultraflex Trifold Tonneau cover, also an Amp research bed step, accessories get expensive that’ll pretty much do it for my upgrades at least for now!
Joe looks like hes feeling the heat! Love that you push through and continue to do your thing! Best in the biz!
Whipple Supercharger for 5.0L Coyote game over! 💪🏽
Isn't the color and the black wheels a sharp combo !!! Who wouldn't rather have a naturally aspirated V8? USA......great video as always Joe....thanks !
Great review of a very nice truck, Joe, love that 5.0 Coyote V8. I was disappointed to see that you can't get the 5.0 in the higher trim levels, King Ranch and Platinum, only a V6.
That's weird, why did they do that. So now only Chevrolet is offering a V8 in the higher trims?
I took one one a 9hr.run with 4 people,I was the King of the road average 19-20mpg.2k RPM 80-90Mph.I'm sold.More comfy than my old 90's CAD.
Love the sound of that Coyote V8. Great looking truck. Kudos to Ford!
It literally feels like this truck gets a face lift every two days 😂😂 I know it’s 2-3 years but time goes fast..
Time flys when you are having fun!
It's also bc each trim has a different look. You're probably used to the XL and XLT, this is a Lariat and they all look a little different. But yes, they do get a refresh every 3 yrs.
@@arizonacolour8793 Seems like for 2024 they separated the xlt and lariat more. Previously, 15-23, a lariat and xlt on the outside looked really similar with minute changes.
21-23 was the best looking ever
Very nice truck
The 5.0 with the ten speed transmission is a great combination! Love it !
You have the best reviews. Very thorough. Much appreciated
ummmm..... no
I don't need a truck but I'd take this one!
I am right there with you man!
Every man needs a truck make up a reason 😂
@@nik1231964well said that’s what I’m going to do! 😆
@@nik1231964I’ve been telling my wife this 😆
Great truck, have the same thing just 12 years old and that Coyote has been bulletproof. Will buy another one but would definitely option a sunroof. Good review!
Thanks for sharing your ownership experience!
Nothing over a raw american V8😤😤😤😤😤😤
Heck yeah! I like the way that you think!
Agreed 👍
What about a Tesla?
Great V8 engine built in Windsor, Ontario Canada.😮
Facts. You’ll still be driving it after 500k miles while the hybrids will need to be replaced after 200k
Now that is a great looking truck. I love the grey metalic with black accents!! Sleek. As for the engine choice I think it comes down to what you'll be using the truck the most. If towing is a priority then the V8 will do it easier. Also no turbos, no maintenance headaches just a raw V8 natural aspirated power plant. One of my favorite engines. I've been driving a 2014 F150 V8 for the last 7 years and absolutely love it. If overall utility and versatility is important with occasional towing and better MPG I think the Powerboost is the better choice. If regular use with no extreme offroading or towing then the entry 2.7 V6 is more than enough. I love that Ford is offering all these options. I wish prices would be more affordable for the average consumer.V8
Man you are cooking. Love the videos.
I am so glad that I can bring them to you!
Finally, a nice handsome looking for F150. They did a good job on this one. I just seen it all black on black one. Very clean.😎
You look at 8 you can gaurentee Raiti always has another coming.
Of the domestic V8’s, I feel the Ford modular V8’s sound the best, especially DOHC, which they all are now. Music.
@@jefflass699 Used to have a 2016 5.0 and found it pretty quiet stock, if you stepped on it sounded good, and with a exhaust it could sound great, I think the dead hemi and Nissan's titan 5.6 stock sounded better.
This is THE BEST review I've seen yet, thank you! Buying this exact truck on Monday morning! 🙏🏼
Gorgeous truck. $70k with no panoramic roof or heated rear seats? I’m not paying it.
Great review as always!
I know how you feel!
@@RaitisRidesit does have a panoramic roof
I bought a 24 xlt and put a stage 2 whipple. Best decision ever!
i just bought this truck in antimatter blue. I think yours is like mine, its a 501a and not a 502a optioned lariat. The 502a has the additional nicites like a wireless phone charger and a sunroof, including heads up display i believe. These things are nice but not important to me. when i popped the hood it was so happy that they abandoned the "all too often" concept of covering the engine bay with a platic sheild. I feel like this is what a truck should look like under the hood. A nice v8 that i can one day easily change the alternator on. All in all, when i drove an equally equipped Chevy i felt like this truck provided a superior high value driving feel and experience.
I have a ‘15 Platinum with the 5.0 and love it. Ford dropped the ball by no longer offering the 5.0 in the Platinum. The Lariat is now the highest trim with the 5.0 available.
I am so glad that you are having a good experience Steve!
Why would they drop the V8 from the Platinum, stange.
I have been driving a 2015 f 150 lariat with the 5.0, love it,
7:32 Whoa Nice V8 Exhaust Note
I know right
First thing you gotta do, buy a Corsa system.
Nice truck . I’m a 3.5 guy. The way they react to a tune won me over. But if you like V8 this looks like a beauty. And if you want to spend $70,000.
I need it! And a matching mustang. Thanks for the motivation Raiti
I own a 21 F150 King Ranch with the 3.5L Twin Turbo and that thing really hauls butt. It has the same HP as the 5.0L V8, but it has 500 ft/lbs of torque. It will take the 5.0 in a drag race, every time....but it sure doesn't sound like that V8. Wish the V8 was still available in the King Ranch (it was until 24).
Great review, Joseph. That's a beautiful Lariat and the 5.0 power plant is the way to go. This has got me thinking it might be time to put my 2001 F-150, Lariat, with the 5.4 Triton, out to pasture. Got it out the door after 9-11 for 36k.
The 5.0 is the best 1/2-ton truck motor PERIOD. Don't believe Ford or their sales people, the 5.0 gets the same mileage as the ECOs. There is less to go wrong (exhaust manifold bolts, turbo cooling hose leaks, and more on the ECOs).
My 5.0 gets about 15 mpg my 2.7 i traded in would get 20 plus easy and it was quicker
That's exactly how i ordered mine it's perfect
You have good taste!
That is a sharp truck and interior. And thanks to the Coyote V8, "Werewolves Of London" by Warren Zevon is playing in my head. As for McDonald's, Jason "George Costanza" Alexander was the pitchman for the McDLT over 40 years ago. The hot and cold side packing, for hot beef to stay hot, and cold veggies and mayo to stay cold. It was a good burger in spite of the mayo instead of mustard. I've heard of problems with Toyota's turbo V6, and I've heard the Mopar Hurricane Six is having teething problems also. I'll stick with the naturally aspirated V8.
I sat in one the other day. I never sat in like a brand new truck ever. I realized how massive these trucks got over the years. Like inside and out. I compared it to my 1991 f150 , i needed the f250 to get a closer comparison.
Probably keep your ozempic shot in the glove box too…that’s a lot of calories in those hot dogs and chicken bakes.
Yep, that’s the one I would get 👍
I always knew you had good taste Tom!
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
The XLT is the way to go. The rest of the trims other the the raptor are laughably expensive for the truck you get. Sadly no dealer even sells at MSRP. Slaps a lift and wheels and charges another $13k 🤦
Thanks for sharing your choice on this one.
Definitely agree. Some other trucks are so expensive. Seems like you don’t see leather seats until you spend $50k.
Not entirely true, Plenty of XLT for sticker in my area. Must be a regional thing...
Purchased a 2024 Tremor with 5.0.$15,000 off MSRP no shit man.We are getting deals in Canada, and every time I hear that V8 it puts a smile on my face!
The XLT's headlight housing is meh
Also you forgot to mention the difference in the hood from last years edition is the 24 does not have the hood vents like the raptor style but I like that it doesn’t. Actually looking into buying this exact model with a moonroof
Lariotye!!!
I see what you did there Mikey!

The mid level trim on most vehicles is the way to go, in my opinion. I call it the Goldilocks theory of car/truck buying.
Great truck. Great review as always. That engine will last 200K miles easy.
This was my dream truck, the 2024 Ford F150 Lariat in that color with the black accents with the 5.0. But I could afford it so I got a used 2021 Ford F150 XLT Sport 4x4 in Lead Foot grey,
Best Truck made V8
Still miss the Kapok Tree Inn. My mom used to take us on an annual trip up there every year.
Like the V8 & chrome delete. Real HVAC knobs r great but would also like analog gauges for long term reliability..
Like what the Bap brings.
Yes of course Joe and I will buying this truck.
This truck is nice
I am glad that you approve Matt!
I love the EB, and would handle most 1/2 ton duties. IMO I'd get the 5.0 only if I have supercharger plans..
I love my 2021 F150 XLT Sport and I really love the new one.
Either f150 w coyote or the ram w hemi, best trucks long term, shame hemi is gone for 2025
At 8:17 I thought he said something else 😂 “I like simplicity!” Sounded like something else.
I need this truck 😮💨
I love the all electric ford f-150 and the gas one! I’m thinking about getting the all electric one
Amazing review Joe.
August 29th is the build date for my F150 Lariat V8 Anti matter blue. Can't wait
Oh wow! You are going to love it!
Love your car video
You absolutely sell the Sizzle. I am 10 years in with my 14' 5.0 STX and definitely considering a the new Lariat with the 5.0. Might come down from Gainesville.
It’s the only power plant I’m considering. Easy choice, Ford still gets it.
Save the v8s!
Nice truck
I am so glad that you approve!
Ford I thank you for keeping the V8😊
MY One and Only Car Review Channel 👀🏆👀
Oh wow that is really amazing Thank you!
First thing I would do is put 35 inch tires on it with a 2and 1/4 front lift with 18 inch wheels.
There's a lot to be said for a naturally aspirated Engine these days . Force air induction can be troublesome in the long term
Actually, the Platinum plus takes the place of the Limited trim. No more Limited trim for 2024. The dual exhaust is ONLY available with the Black appearance package and limited to some (not all) colors, which is a shame. I tried to speck a Atlas blue with the black appearance package on the Lariat and it's not available, even on the XLT with the 303A package. You can get it on the STX 5.0 with the Atlas blue. Not sure why that is on the other trim levels.
Rattie, 2024 Ram isnt totally redesigned, 2025 is... Available now in case you didn't know. But a v8 isnt available.
F150 v8s do not all come with dual exhausts. You need to order the black out package to get dual exhaust.
I hear so many mistakes in your videos.
You got the twinky capacity nailed though.
The powertrain is bad to the bone. Gotta love Ford trucks.
You better believe it broether!
Im not a Ford guy, but that is a good looking truck, I cannot lie. The tires are a bit anemic, I’d swap for some BFG AT for sure.
2024 f150 supercrew 4x4. Cons switch blade key, when towing so much reminders pop on screen.gotta press o.k. way to many times. Cant reverse with tailgate down cause cameras think its going to hit something. Pros V8 , sounds are great, i feel safe in it.
you can get that V8 in the base regular cab F-150 too. Makes a cool little truck
A unicorn is more common than single cab trucks today. 🦄
Beast!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️❤️
Great video man,is this the 302A package, also what size is the gas tank, also what size rear end..😂😂
Nicely spec'd truck. Similar to my 19. Wish they didnt jack the price up so much and so fast, and cylinder deactivation is a letdown.
Most people don’t need trucks lol!
This is true!
Absolutely go with 3.73s on the 5.0l.
Just install a Whipple Supercharger kit and all w/coolant lines, pulleys, elbow for the blower, tuner, throttle body, Tomahawk V2, air intake,
Timing Belt Upgrade
Fuel System Injectors Upgrade and aftermarket touches on the exhaust, interior and you have yourself a sleeper street truck that can beat Shelby and Hennessy trucks.
Ready to rock N roll!
Joe, forget this truck in 4 door......do a review of it in a single cab that we used to call short wide bed......that is how it needs to be spec'd! Black wheels look cheap.
I like black wheels they look good
Hey Joe you think you could get your hands on a 2014 rs5 with titanium exhaust & a 2020 Buick regal GS to review?
Sharp truck!
I am glad that you are digging this one Bryan!
As long as they have cylinder deactivation tech, they still suck
I just bought a 2024 F150 STX with the 5.0 and 4WD. I’m watching this video seeing everything additional the Lariat came with and thinking is that worth an additional $13k higher MSRP……not no but HELL no. Mostly just more gadgets that will break at some point.
Joe I meant to say is this the 501A or 502A.
I think the 302A is the xlt..😂😂
I enjoy your content but can you mention the payload capacity from the door jamb sticker on trucks?
I’m more of a chrome guy. And I really dislike the BALLOONED PRICING. Are they out of their minds????? This is why I will be be purchasing a well kept first previously owned Ford F-150 Lariat for LESS THAN HALF of what the new ones are going for. 😁
My thoughts exactly, but I'd take another XLT with 5.0 and 302A package: Can't do without the sliding rear glass.
Pretty good truck joe , hows the realibilty compared to the new tundra ?
5.0 you can't go wrong it's arguably the best truck you can get hands on.
Ford took away Flex Fuel in the 2024 F-150’s. Glad I got a 2023 Rocky Ridge XLT back in February with only 24 miles on the dash!
Hope they fixed the oil consumption problems that are well known with the coyeteys
Anyone know if this trim has blind spot indicator, Lane assist, and/or auto start stop??
What do you think that some don’t have the pro access tailgate? Would you prefer it with or without? I’ve seen they both are the same price regardless.
This is the one, except with the STX package... if it was 10k cheaper.
Instead I'm looking at used Rams w/ the Hemi.
Lariat was THE top trim back in the olden days. More than enough and such a beautiful powertrain. If you want that much more luxury in a truck, just put the seat down and buy a Benz. I regret nothing.
Show by hand, who else is here just for Joey's commentary and not the car review. Lol
Is dual exhaust tips only on the lariat w/ the coyote?
U didnt mention the folding console
shifter and work bench..or did u not know it existed?
A massive size bed space!!!! Smallest bed in any truck lol
This would be a slam dunk for me if not for the active fuel management. 3.5L ecoboost turbo and cam phaser issues (still). Ram hurricane is a new engine. I’m not going to be a test customer. Chevy/GM dynamic fuel management same story. Tundra blowing engines. it’s a pick your poison decision. Not a good place to be in shopping a new truck. Hard to believe it’s 2024 and reliability sucks so badly across every line. The 5.0 is probably my top choice.
