The integrated turn signals are excellent! Totally cleans up the front. The cops siren 🚨 was GOLD! Like here we go another ticket for our boy Matt 😬 but not today 😎... we good!!!
I definitely feel you should shoot some of the older bikes in the collection, a lot of the M8s and touring bikes a similar in terms of ride. I wanna see you post about some of the older bikes and how they compare to today’s bikes etc.
I understand where He's coming from,,,the new bikes ARE pretty similar, but you have to understand,,Laidlaws sells NEW bikes,,,so there you go...I have me a custom 2020 RGS W/ 131 and a 2020 custom sport glide,,almost the same as above,,love both of them!!
George Ash only reason I recommend he do videos on some older bikes is cause the family have a collection of old bikes which would be cool to see. It’s content after all. He’s done videos on almost all of the new M8’s. I own an 18 Fat Bob so I liked watching them but he asked for suggestions on new content. It doesn’t hurt to see some classics.
Hopefully with the new CEO making big changes and sales driven he will notice what is going on in the industry. Harley could take the sport glide, which is the original name of the first FXRT, and place the FXRT fairing on it instead of the Rick Doss fairing from the early 90's. The only other things it would need is dual disk in the front and different wheels. That would be a great platform to start a build with for less than $20k. Maybe they will listen to the dealers and the public, and see what everyone is asking for. Not everyone wants a big dresser with all the weight.
I have a built 2020 LRS, 131, Memphis Shades fairing, custom paint TBR pipe etc etc, also have a CVO and have to sell one bike. I do not tour much and haul a bike around with me in my 5th wheel and do short rides, day trips etc or commute to work. I am thinking of selling my CVO and doing some more upgrades on my LRS with a RWD fairing, killer sound system and Sportglide bags. My LRS is fun with the 131 and enjoy the hell out it. So I am thinking this maybe the bike to keep and have a really cool built/custom bike.
Really dig it man. Your videos always inspired me, and I'm happy to say it's been 3 years now since I've had a 02' Dyna Low Rider. Happy with it but always thinking on what's next, this setup always caught my eye
Lol the fairing didn’t make the FXR, the frame did. This bike looks kinda cool but that’s about it, that bike handles like shit compared to the one and only FXR!
I know. I ride an ‘85 FXRP and ‘86 FXRS... but this Lowrider S is the closest they’ve come so far to the FXR. I have to admit that you have to get upgraded suspension and drivetrain to be able to still beat this model. I wouldn’t mind having this bike alongside my two babies! 🤘🏻
Hi Matt, Amazing builds. I have a low rider S and would like to live close to a dealership like you to customize my bike. You guys represent the direction Harley should go. Congrats and thank you for the great content.
What would be nice once in a while is showing a vintage bike and how I'm it's time had something new coming out on it's year . Maybe compare the bike to today's bike just to show how things have come along . I still ride my shovelhead to this day and I compare it to newer bikes . Still appreciating the older bikes and newer making advancements over the years .
Not at all tired of these, haha, at all! Looks awesome with that taller rear suspension. Looks appropriate. Almost makes me think I'm looking at an FXR. And also, nice to see the new Thunderheader on one. I hear the new ones are really awesome! Thanks.
The new direction is called "Rewire" ; which includes asking shareholders to vote for cash bonus's for the new CEO and board members... Now, I am pretty sure Matt does not do this, but I believe most other dealers do this. ua-cam.com/video/P4c598CpLF0/v-deo.html
@Nightingale It is unfortunate. Sturgis is over, and we coming into the fall and winter seasons. Many dealers are scrambling for inventory, which may not show up until summer of next year..... In the meantime, many dealers are asking for forbearance on paying their rent for very expensive store-front. Is no secret, the "whole company" as you say, is carrying over 9 billion in debt, and no clear path forward to pay it back..... We are seeing Chapter 11 for HD in 2021.....
After watching tons of your (always excellent) review videos, I wonder why Harley allows $$$ to flow to competitors. If suspension upgrades are THAT noticeable, and many folk do at least the rears, HD should offer a suspension stage 1 (rear) and stage 2 (front and rear) and install the good stuff at the factory. Or release a CVO version with better suspension?
I think every make and model I’ve ever ridden could benefit from suspension, most of them much more than the new softails. The new softails actually have really good stock suspension. Theres a couple KTM dirt bikes that I wouldn’t upgrade suspension on. Anyways unless the price tag is way up there all bikes have room for improvement. Most the bikes I feature on my channel are scenarios where the owners spared no expense and went “all-in” in different aspects of the customization. The way this bike feels going down the freeway is better than just about any stock bike out there except maybe if you went to a Goldwing or other full dresser. Then you’re buying a “touring” bike. Any mid-size cruiser in the world, this bike is going to have a far superior ride. So comparing stock to stock in its class no one is better. What I would like to see is HD go to the extreme with a CVO performance bagger and do like full Ohlins with an inverted front end etc.
Like do something like that for my FXFBS eventually. I would just have a hard time changing out my headlight. It looks badass, and works too well to replace.
Another thought: Can he get more height out of the front suspension? It looks like the tubes are mounted low in the tree. I know it's partially the large end caps. I have Legend Axeos on my Dyna.
The clear advantage of a bike like this is its versatility. The fact that it looks amazing is secondary to its functionality in the city as well as longer freeway riding which are equally important for those of us living in the metropolitan areas of California. What’s taking HD so long to sell these off the showroom floor?
Love this bike! Have a Fat Bob 114 but not comfortable on long rides or easy in the city (office near DTLA) . Rented a Heritage this past week for a ride to Joshua Tree. Still not what I'm looking for. Felt like I was riding "Dad's" bike... I think this may be it. Will test ride soon .... Love your vids!
Classic, stripped-down builds would be SICK... at least until the new models come out... if we ever make it to 2021~ Absolutely enjoy your vlogs Matt! Thank you!🤘🏿🤙🏿
Rad bike. FYI those Whiplash seats are rebranded C&C seats. Nothing against them but you can get the same exact seat minus the Whiplash logo and for $50 less by ordering direct from C&C. I have one and love it much better than the Saddlemen step up.
Hello from PA. I just picked up a 2022 Lowrider S. I also got lucky enough to find a RWD fairing like the one in this video. Do you know what length risers I will need to clear the fairing? Id rather keep the bars where they are but I’ll do the minimal height necessary to clear the fairing if necessary. Btw, this video pretty much sealed the deal for me on buying a Lowrider S and doing my own club style build with it.
i buy and sell alot of repairables just bought a fxrls all blacked i will be borrowing some of ur custom add ons when i build it gonna do alittle motor work as well
Awesome bike, I dig this style! Those bars were a sweet choice as well. Would’ve loved to hear the sound of the speakers but I understand the copyright bs. Older bikes too, Hell yes! Custom, Classic, Vintage, I enjoy seeing them all. Grab an original Sportster and a new Sporty and run a comparison. I like your ride videos too where you have a destination and some sweet roads to get there.
Hey Matt, would live to see a build out of an older road glide say a 2012, 2013 before fairing was change and maybe pros and cons over the old to the new with project Rushmore. I know there were major improvements to the road glide fairing but I see the stunt riders going old style as well as others still going back to the old over the new style so would love to see an build, what you would change and thoughts for sure. Cheers!
I agree you pay that kind of money for a Harley and you have to spend a fortune to get it right or at least the way you like it and perform better Harley should see this other manufacturers are doing it better suspension better seats better handlebars the new road glide handlebars are ridiculous!
I really look forward to these test rides , I thought they finally caught you on the run . Good one !! I always learn something new on upgrades I didn't know about . That freeway can be crazy on a motorcycle ! A test ride on the older Low Riders would be fun to see . Thanks

I'm not Dyna-stalgic if the newest platform is better in almost every way! If I had the flow I would consider the Low Rider S but I'd probably throw some paint on it just to switch it up. How does the Thunderheader exhaust compare to the Fab28 Industries in terms of sound and performance? Unfortunately I haven’t heard either in person and I’m looking to get an exhaust for my 2020 FXLRS
What a fantastic built...never get tired of seeing these converted FXRT fairing bikes..I know MoCo is going to reduce the number of models by 30%, but if they were smart they should convert the Sport Glide by replacing the worthless batwing mini fairing into am FXRT one...anyway got 2 questions...did Thuderheader change the design of their header for the M8s? and do you think the Low Rider S is the most popular model because of it's price point and what you get for your $$ (dual from discs, inverted front end, etc..)?

Matt , that Thunderheader says “ I’m here ! “ Jed has got a very nice scoot , well laid out !
Now this is my kind of bike. Nice build! That fairing has really grown on me on these M8s.
You guys are still the “ KINGS” .
Thanks ! 👑
Never get tired of the fxrt styling Matt. Just needs the fxrt baggs to complete
The integrated turn signals are excellent! Totally cleans up the front. The cops siren 🚨 was GOLD! Like here we go another ticket for our boy Matt 😬 but not today 😎... we good!!!

Keep these custom bike builds coming! Harley has never built better bikes and these custom builds show exactly why H-D remains #1.

Hey Brad, they got your pegs on here! Killer bike! Now to remove all the truck bed liner spray-on black from the trees, primary, and fender struts.

May have you already have done a build but a Road King set up with those bars and fairing would look great.
I’ve bough 3 bikes from Laidlaws! Still have them all! Next one is a Tri-Glide.. best dealership I’ve ever done business with hands down!!
Looking for a Road King Special ST Video ! Thanks Matt! Love the videos!
Well there is no Road King ST but I posted a road king special video recently.

Matt Laidlaw True. Someday they’ll have a small action camera that will capture sound and scenery well, doing them justice.
Matt, how this fairing performs when lane splitting in California traffic
It’s good. Noticeably better than a street glide or road glide fairing.
I thought the lighted mirrors are not compatible with this model. What mirrors are those?
