This is a lovely painting. I have been asked by someone to do painting of a flamboyance of flamingos on a lake and I am wondering how to start. I also would like to know more about painting the fleathers, which on this display went far to quickly for one to really get the art of painting fluffy-like feathers.
Can i ask what brush you are using for the feathers?

Great tutorial. Thanks so much. What are you doing with the gloss medium you added to your pallets? I never saw you dip into it and use it.
You use it continually while painting. I dip my brush into it each time I apply color on the canvas. 👍🏼😊
Using the gloss medium seemed to add to the texture & the paint glides off Ur brush. I finally learned by trying to paint without it-yay for gloss medium, & Andrea for being there while I painted my beautiful work of art. Thank U, Andrea🙂

Where can I find the reference image?
Drew Wuu, I actually used three different images to create this one. I like my art to be original, rather than a copy. But, if you google “Flamingo photos”, several come up. You may even find one in the same pose as mine. Good luck! 💗

Sorry about the name, my boys changed it....I had never seen this video, and decided to paint a flamingo. I went online , searched a picture and started to paint it. When I took a break to get some lunch and let it dry a bit, I searched 'how to paint a flamingo' and Bingo! You popped up.
I started laughing, and groaning at the same time. It's the same picture that you had. I couldnt believe it! The only difference is that I am doing it on a black back ground with a slight glow around the beak.
When I get done with it I will post so that you can see it.

It’s a great Flamingo, love all the colors. That being said if I was a beginner it would be difficult to follow how to put down paint and how to blend paint as there was no instruction on pressure. Also no under painting? I have never seen an experienced artist paint on a white canvass and student paints?
Hi Stampin Craze, thank you! I entitle my tutorials according to the level. If one is “Beginner”, it’s specified in the title or description 😊. Every artist has their own style. There is no right or wrong way to paint a piece, (under painting or not), as long as the result is excellent. I prefer my method over most when working at a faster pace, because you can accomplish the same result with proper application. If it was a detailed landscape, a little under painting is necessary. 👍🏼
